Same as everyone else's, mine's a natural finish. I thought the knobs looked cheap so I switched them for some Gibson ones- cylindrical back ones like my 1973 Gibson SG. Still each to their own- the replacements cost me #5 through eBay and I sold the DeArmond ones for #11!

Sound : 9
I used to own a brilliant Shergold masquerador 12 string which I lent to someone who sold it! That had 2 pickups but masses of combinations of pick ups in phase and out. Next to that, the DeArmond is just a bit normal, but it does have a wonderful rich tone- I use a Marshall AVT 275. I've not noticed any stray noises. The neck pickup sits much further away from the strings than the bridge so the volume level jumps about a bit if you switch pickups.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Excellent set-up, perfect finishing, though not sure about the pick up set up

Reliability/Durability : 8
I use it occaisionally for a bit of colour- not live yet, but I am sure it would be fine and not require a safety net!

I've only had it 3 months, but it's fine.

I've been playing for 25 years. I own 2 Gibson SG's, a Gibson Sonex, a Fender Strat and a couple of acoustics and a bass. It replaced a hole left by the 'sale' of my Shergold and I won't ever part with it. Overall it's a good looking guitar with great action and sound. I've played a Rickenbacker and I honestly couldn't justify the price difference. Buy one if you get the chance.

I'm not sure of the year, bought it in 2001 during closeout sale. Body is mahogany with a green stain, Mahogany neck, tune-o-matic and stop bar. The pickups are DeArmond 2K pickups. The body is shaped like an SG. The guitar did not come with a case or bag. The guitar was made in Korea.

Sound : 10
This guitar sounds awesome. I use Fender amps and they really shine with this guitar. For single coils, it is fairly quiet. These pickups are the best single coils I've ever heard. I've been looking to get some to use on a 6-string. They can play clean and dirty with ease. The night I brought it down to show the band, I used it for the whole night, most of our songs don't need a 12-string, but this still sounded great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Factory setup was good. Action is low and there is no buzzing. The pickups can not be adjusted, but are in a good position for the best sounds. I couldn't find any flaws in the finish.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is built like a tank. It stays in tune very well. The finish is solid. I think it will take abuse (although I don't plan on giving it any)

Have not had to deal with them. Now that they're gone, I would assume Fender will still support warranties.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for over 20 years and have owned a variety of guitars. This is a great instrument and fits in well with my need for a 12-string electric on a couple of songs. If it was lost or stolen I would make every effort to replace it, probably on Ebay now since they are no longer made.

Same as the rest 12 String SG like Korean. Mine is Green

Sound : 9
It sounds as good as any of the other 12 strings I played. I really wanted a Tom Petty Rick, but I won,t part with a couple of grand for one. They aren't that much better. I play it through a Marshall VS-65.
Not a noisy guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The fit and finish are fine. I could'ntsee any flaws it nice right out of the box. Doesnt have intonation for each string. Neither do a lot of expensive Ricks. These Korean factories seem to make really nice stuff cheap.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would use it on a gig, it seems as strong as most anything.

I have been playing 35 years. I have a 68 Tele, 90 Strat, 99 Guild Blues Bird (I love it) and a bunch of acustics. If it were stolen I would buy another. Where are you going to get a good guitar that cheap! I don't like the top heavy head. I sold an SG special cause of that. I bought cause I wanted a 12 the Dano necks arenot to my liking
this one is really nice.

This guitar is shaped like and "SG" it has two single coil pickups that sound great on all three toggle switch selections, solid mahogany body, 2 tone and 2 volume knobs allowing blending between neck and bridge. By the way this guitar is a twelve string.

Sound : 10
Everyone knows what this guitar sounds like, just put on stairway to heaven during the"AND A NEW DAY WILL DAWN"part and you have the middle switch sound, the bridge pickup listen to the byrds. but will do alot more! You don't have to use a twelve string just to sound like the byrds. This guitar is the single most powerful tone tool that I own. (i own eleven guitars)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
set up fine from factory

Reliability/Durability : 10
Don't drop it and it will last

It is a crying shame that no one knew how great these guitars were until after it was to late. they were huge bang for the buck before they started giving them away. The DeARMOND company has been making fantastic top quality pickups since the fiftys in the good ole USA and were installed in and still are in $2000 plus guitars. There isn't
much time left to score one. check ebay or musicians friend.iTS AMAZING THAT MY BEST SOUNDING GUITAR WAS THE CHEAPEST!!!!!! BETTER HURRY

Brand new, made in Korea. Solid body.
Two single coil pickups, two volume and tone controls. Mahogany with natural finish. SG body style.Tune-o-matic bridge w/stop tail piece.
Tuners are adequate and jumbo frets. No accessories include other than truss rod wrench.

Needed a 12 string electric for 4 or 5 60's tunes in my repitoire but did not want to shell out $1000's for a Rik. Couldn't find much selection in stores, so I took a chance and ordered from Muscians Friend due to their 45 day return policy. This is how I learned about DeArmonds. Does a great job, well made, bright sound. Took it to my luthier and he gave it back and said what do you want me to do, it's fine like it is. Arrived nearly in tune

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
As I said before, no flaws, in perfect condition except for maybe the strings. I changed them immediately and what an improvement.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is solid! No reason to believe this guitar won't hold up.

Customer Support : 9
Haven't needed it and don't expect to.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing over 30 years. I own a Martin D-35, an Ovation Acoustic/Electric 12, a Yamaha solid body, a Hamer Aztec Echotone, a DeArmond M77 and just ordered a DeArmond T-400. I've owned almost every conceivable guitar and feel this DeArmond is great and for the money all I can say is 'wow'.

Twelve string version of the S-73. Also has the single coil vintage-style DeArmond 2k pickups instead of the Goldtone humbuckers.

SG style, mahogany body and neck. Set neck (nice!) Grover-type tuners, bound neck, rosewood fretboard, 22 frets, 24 3/4" scale, stop tailpiece. Two tone and two volume pots. Mune is transparent crimson, shows nice wood grain. Really nice workmanship from Korea. All the DeArmond guitars are based on classic Guild designs and made for Fender.

These guitars were on a fantastic closeout buy when Fender discontinued the line. List price was $850, mine was $250.

I ended up with several different Dearmonds...great guitars at great prices!

Sound : 10
BEautiful! The 2k pickups are absolutely wonderful, giving this guitar the twang and chime of the classic Byrds twelve string sound. Gets some very believable McGuinn-esque tones. Very bright, but sounds kind of chunky when the tone pots are rolled back.

IF you're looking for an electric 12 string it is hard to beat...the hollow body Guild 12 string is nicer for lots more money, and I love the ricky but it's also beaucoup more bucks. Far better guitar than the Danelectro bolt neck 12 strings

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Setup was okay...I ordered it off the net from Musicians Friend when they were closing out the DeArmonds in summer of '01. Actually pretty well setup for a net order from a mass marketer. I've not found any flaws yet. It played well after tuning out of the box, but I did a minor adjustment of action and intonation and it was great.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Seems pretty darned solid and I suppose it'll hold up well. It's still too early to make a strong judgment here, but there are no indications of problems. As a 12 string I think it would always be a specialty guitar for gigs and not a main axe, but should be okay.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Lifetime Fender warranty, I've had no dealings with them but have heard good things about them standing behind these guys.

Overall Rating : 10
This is my only 12-string, so it's hard to compare with my other guitars. I've got half a dozen guitars, and the Dearmonds are equal to or better than anything I've seen for twice as much money. I'm not sure if I'd be in a huge hurry to replace the 12-string, but that may change as it becomes more a part of my repertoire.
