The DeArmond Starfire IV is made in Korea, but you won't recognize this at any time you play this wonderful guitar. It has many frets (is that important at all?) and all work perfectly. It has a thin double cutaway semi-hollow body, a rosewood fretboard and comes in a beautiful sunburst finish. Two DeArmond Humbucker switchable via 3-way selector and with separate volume and tone knobs. The tuners are no name but work very accuratly. It features an adjustable bridge and has a nice "D"-tailpiece. A case was not included, so I had to buy one additional.

I'm playing it through a Vox AC30, using several effects. The DeArmond pickups are perfect for my taste. They're a producing a very clear sound, where you can here every string you play even at higher distorsion. The sound possibilities are countless. When switching the pickup selector in the middle position you can adjust the two hunbuckers using the two volume knobs. You can get very different sounds without much effort.

Set-up was o.k.. Strings were a little too light for my taste, so I had to adjust it again. The saddle is plastic and was not filed properly but I could do this myself. The finish is perfect, everything elsw is also in perfect shape.

The DeArmond Starfire is as solid as you can think of a good guitar. The Tuners are no name, but nethertheless do their job very well. I would trust on this guitar to play any gig you want (as long you don't smash it against the floor or a wall).
Customer Support

No Opinion
Up to know I had no problems with this guitar. DeArmond is a relative of Fender and therefore I think it should give no problems concerning spare parts or other stuff.

I love this guitar. I'm playing for five years now and I've seen many guitars up to now, but this one beats them all. I'm not playing a specific style of music and therefore this guitar is the perfect match. You can get many different sounds just by using the sound knobs. If it were stolen I would buy it again without even thinking about choosing a different model.
