This is a black glossy finish, big jumbo frets, three on/off type switches for the pickups with one a tap on the humbucker, no idea what kind of wood is under there, came with a "locking" tremelo with the locking nut missing.
Sound

I was looking for a guitar that wasn't as noisy as the strat or even my gibson, and on the humbucker it is pretty quiet. All other settings are noisy, but this could be something to do with the fact I live in a 100 year old house and I'm playing through a tube amp. I like the lead position a lot, which is what I bought it for. I don't seem to be able to adjust the middle and neck pickup, and they are kind of weak.

This guitar looked really beat up when I bought it, but once cleaned up it is in surprisingly good shape. Very thick finish. Mine is all glossy black. The action is incredible. This even rivals my les paul for playability.

I plan to mostly record with this, and have not played out with it at all.

I've been playing 27 years and have a thin line les paul, basic strat, ibanez artcore jazz box, ovation UKII, Crafter acoustic, Ibanez bass, Oscar Schmidt classical, baby taylor, and old harmony and kay guitars. I wish I had the locking nut. I like the fine tuners.

Dont know where it was made, 22 fret solid body bolt on neck w/ trem and lock downs, emg selects hss. I've owned this guitar for about 10 yrs and I can only guess that this thing is made out of particle board lol. The paint job is kinda nice if it weren't pink. It looks like a jackson copy. I like the toggle switch selectors for the pikups, very simple. The tuners are sealed (hell if I know what kind they are).

I play the top 40 heavy stuff, metallica etc. I have a Metaltronix (www.metaltronix.net) half stack. This guitar actually sounds kinda good from clean to dirty, and with the pickup selection it'll sound like almost anything. I really have no dislikes about the sound when pluged into an amp BUT when played unpluged I hear vibrations (maybe the neck joint or the trem).

I got this guitar used and set it up my self, the action is ok but I will never buy a bolt on neck again cause no matter how tight it is It still moves. Nice paint job. Poor quality wood? I'd bet on it! Other than that this guitar is supurb for beginners and part timers!

Yes, I played this guitar live for about 5 yrs sometimes withoiut a backup, (wraped in electrical tape cuz its pink lol). The tremelo is made of a soft alloy and is wearing out fast around the trem tuners.

Been playing 20 yrs, I own a 86 Les paul custom, ltd ec 1000 delux, and a 62 lafiett. Ive got to give it a 7 cuz the only things that make this guitar are the pickups and tuners. If you see this model guitar for sale, go ahead, buy it, its awsome for the price, unless you have 2500$ to blow on a gibson.

like an 1989 '90 model, 22 frets, solid top, black tuners, black locking tremolo system, locking nut, 1 vollumenob, 1 tone knobs, a 3way mini toggle switch for the humbucker and 2 2way toggle switches for each single coil. jumbo frets, passive electronics, good for the price
Sound

sounds excellent, one of the best sounding electrics ive ever played, its weird though, the single coils give it a deeper, warmer sound as opposed to the humbucker, the hb is brighter and louder than the single coils, good pickups though, select pickup by EMG, wide range of sounds, all around good
Action, Fit, & Finish

action is pretty low, the action on my jag-stang is lower but its still good, pickups sound good and need no adjusting, the bridge is built into the tailpiece so cant really say anything about that, saddles are a brass color and give it a bright sound, but the locking bridge sometimes makes it buzz, so you just loosen it and it doesnt buzz anymore, but the locking does help it to say in tune for a long time, i played it heavily for over a month and it never went out of tune once.

very reliable, built very solid, its been dropped and imput jack as been smashed in, the fretboard was sepereating from the neck, (fixed it with super glue perfectly fine now), finish is very thick, has some chips it in but that was before i got it, i can depend on it, wouldnt gig without a backup, very reliable.

This is a 1989/90 Charvel/Jackson copy made by Dean Guitars, called the Z88, It has a 22 fret rosewood neck with a Jackson-style angled headstock, black gotoh tuners, Black Kahler licensed locking tremolo system w/locking nut, 1 Volume, 1 tone knobs, 1-3way mini toggle switch for the humbucker and 2-2way toggle switches for the single coil. The neck had jumbo frets a rosewood fretboard, all black satin finish.
I got this guitar after trading in my Fender Squire Bullet Strat and 100 bucks at a Music Store in Hollywood.

I play rock, metal, blues. I was playing this guitar through a Fender Princeton Chours amp and a delay pedal.
I've played this guitar at studio jams during my college days. This guitar sound great if you we're into Metallica, Maiden, Priest, Jackson and BC Rich guitars at the time.
The middle and neck single coils were stock and they didn't have the open coils exposed and i must have assumed they we're some active pickups but, there wasn't a battery compartment in the back or under to control cover. The middle and neck pickups hummed at high gain settings. The bridge pickup was great.
I had planned on replacing the pickups and the neck at a later time. But, I sold this guitar to Guitar Center in 1991.

The shop where i bought the guitar set it up for me at no extra charge.

The only thing i had to replace was a weak, plastic 1/4 jack hole and i had replaced it with a good metal one.
I wouldn't have minded owning two since Dean made so many.
