awesome!! Dean electronics. 21 frets I think. Three band EQ with presence control. Digital tuner on board. XLR input as well as instrument jack. easy 9V battery access from the outside with the instrument plugs.

Sound : 10
This guitar sounds great!! I picked it up once at the store and had to back three times just to play on it some more. I finally decided I just had to buy it. The lows come out clear. it has a rich, balanced sound and can be played loud or softly and sound great. I play through a Roland AC-60 acoustic amp and it retains it's sound and tone great!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The action is set pretty low right out of the box which is nice. Mine needed no adjusting. The finish is beautiful and the wood grain shows very nicely.

Reliability/Durability : 9
It plays very well both unplugged or plugged in to a large PA system. I'd advise putting straplocks on though.

never went there

Overall Rating : 10
This guitar is awesome. I play primarily acoustic music and it fits my needs very well. I'd buy it again if anything was to ever happen to this one. I really like the built in digital tuner and presence conrtol.

grover tuners (that should be a ten in its own, they kick ass) dean electronics. and a beautiful finish that stands out like a black man at a KKK meeting.

Sound : 10
its gotta really bright sound to it which is a nice contrast from my epiphone gothic les paul (killer guitar for heavy shit, you should check it out, if your into that kinda music) gotta admit though, low end does sound a little on the weak side. (gotta strum those wound strings a little harder) when playin unplugged, its as sweet as a shot of southern comfort, with a bite that hits just the same! especially when your sittin in front of a bonfire. just pulling it out of the case makes all the ladies come over and take notice. hit that first chord and they practically throw themselves at ya. through an amp, it retains most of the sound qualities that make it great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
action was set nice and low, but not so low that it buzzed. i actually bought it flawless, no problems with it. to this day its still flawless, minus the hair line scratches only visible through direct light, but those came from cleanin my baby down everytime i finished playin her. the finish is so great, even if you treat your gear like shit, this guitar MAKES you want to clean it. its almost scary...

ok, my whole reason for gettin this puppy initially was so that i could sit on the trunk of my car while on break at work, and jam with some of my co-workers. it did so with flying colors, all the while putting my co-workers guitars to shame as they put em down to beg me to let them try mine. compare it to a 57 chevy, beautiful and bad ass, but so much of a tank that you could have a f*ckin head on collision and obtain minimal damage. not that you would want to, of course...

havent dealt with em, and doubt that i'll ever have to

i've been playing for about 5 1/2, 6 years now, im primarily a rock/metal guy, but im equally interested in classical/country/blues. my main rig is simply my epiphone gothic les paul into my line 6 spider 2. with this setup, i can get any type of electric guitar sound i f*ckin want, leaving little to want. but as far as country and classical music goes, i needed somethin i could play unplugged. and yeah, no shit, this isnt a classical guitar, but is has a tone that suits classical fairly enough to my liking. i wouldnt exactly call it versatile, but it gets the job done well enough for me to get my rocks off. if this baby were stolen, i would be extremely PISSED and try to get it back. if i couldnt find it, i would most likely get another one. i remember in the music store, there were a couple other guitars i was looking at, but i forgot about em completely after trying this one. definately the best bang for the buck. good sound, good looks, good deal. period.

This guitar suits my musical style great. I needed a quality unplugged sound, and as I was shopping around the music store, I found this to be the only cutaway acoustic with a big unplugged sound. I really appreciated that since I do a lot of worship leading at random times and places when I don't necessarily have a PA to hook up to. I also like it to sound nice and full when I'm practicing by myself :o) I mainly play rhythmic acoustic... accompaniment style I guess you could say, stuff for coffee shops and churches. It's great for that style.

I don't really use any amps or effects... I just plug straight thru the system. But at the store I tried it on a few amps, and I was amazed at the same quality in sound as it was unplugged. And the pickup allows for a lot of adjustment.

Definitely has a bright sound, which some people don't like. But I'd rather have that than a muffled mid-tone sound. I do favor the low range in my mix, and the shop set-up helped add that to the flavor of the sound of the guitar. But if you don't like a bright-sounding guitar, then this guitar isn't for you.

I don't know about the factory set-up because I bought mine with a set-up from the store I bought it at. The action was very easy to adjust, so I hear.

I haven't discovered any flaws in it as I've played it or when I first was shopping for it at the store.

I've lugged my guitar to a few coffee house gigs, and to a worship/church gig every Wednesday night, and it's done great. I also bought a hard-shell case when I got it, for $74. It seems to be pretty reliable. The wood isn't extremely breakable, for what I've seen so far. Looks like the finish is great and will last a long time. I haven't had any scratch issues yet either. The strap buttons seem solid. It didn't come with the upper button, so I had that installed with no problem. I haven't had any upsets with the guitar in live performances so far... it's very reliable.

I'd use it on a gig without backup if I was guaranteed to not break a string! If that were so, I'd definitely go with no backup.

didn't buy a warranty. no interaction with the company.

I've been playing for 5 years, and I have played on a Yamaha f-160 and a Johnson black cutaway (not sure of the model number, but I assure you it was cheap). This acoustic so far exceeds two, there's no comparison. I needed a new acoustic to meet the demands of my rising skill, and this guitar definitely met me where I'm at. I also own an Oscar Scmidt (by Washburn) Delta King hollow-body electric, with a Peavey Studio 12 amp, and a Fender Precision Bass (made in Mexico style).

The only thing I wish I had asked before buying the guitar was for them to re-do the shop set-up, because they set the action too low and the strings were buzzing. But I took it to another shop and they fixed it with no problem.

If it were lost or stolen, I'd definitely buy it again, or at least buy another Dean. I still have to "bond" with the guitar for me to be extremely sad about losing it, but as far as enjoying the gutiar for musicianship sake, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.

I love it because it gives such a quality sound for such a lower price than the other guitars on it's same level. I love this sound so much better than my friend's Taylor 310. And the look of the wood is so beautiful and different. The size is great not only because I'm a female and don't want a huge guitar bogging me down while I'm trying to sing, but also because it's easier to carry. And the cutaway style gives room for fun solo-ing at the high-end. But the size doesn't compromise the sound, which is probably my favorite thing about it.

I compared it to some Ibanezes, some Alvarezes, and Washburns. Since I was looking for a cutaway with a big unplugged sound but good electronics, I found the Dean to be my match made in heaven.

I also felt this guitar was best because it was in my price range. You better grab this guitar while you can, because you're not gonna find a better value for under $600 (or more than that possibly)!

Don't know what year it was made, but, as far as I can tell it was made in the US. It has a 25-1/4" scale with 21 frets, and a cut-away body. The top back and sides are solid East Andes rosewood. It has a set magogany neck. It comes with standard Dean electronics with controls for volume, presence, treble, mid, and bass. The finish is high gloss natural which brings out the natural beauty of the rosewood. It has chrome grover tuners and compensated saddle.

I am a novice and don't really have any particular style. I play what I have learned and what I can figure out how to play. I was a little disappointed in the tone of the guitar at first. I was expecting a little more bottom end. After playing it for a while though, the sound has really started to grow on me. It is a little bright, but well balanced. I think the specialty woods of these guitars kind of lend to a brighter tone. I have an old Fender J.A.M. amplifier. It's not really designed for acoustics but this guitar sounds very nice through it. You have enough variation with the 4 controls to find the tone you are looking for. The body is very resonant and can give some feedback if the volume is cranked up. I can't attribute all that to the guitar though, as I said I don't have the best amplifier for acoustics. I have really come to like the distinct sound this guitar has both plugged and unplugged. A little more bass would be nice but overall it has very rich, pleasant tone. I Know several musicians that actually play gigs and they had nothing bad to say about what they heard.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was set up ok from the factory. The action was little high for my taste, it took the tech about 2 minutes and a couple of turns on the trus rod and now it's pretty nice. As for the fit and finish I can't find anything to complain about. The wood is absolutely beatiful, everything fits tightly, and There are no obvious flaws. The binding looks good,as do the inlays.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Haven't had it very long, just a few weeks. It seems very solidly built and since I play for my own enjoyment it should last a lifetime. The strap button is solid(if not a little large). The finish seems very durable, but there is no pick guard so someone using it to play gigs might notice some marring later on.All in all I'd say it's very well built guitar.

haven't had to use them.

Overall Rating : 10
As I said before I haven't been playing long, just a little over a year. I also own a MD 160M strat copy, which I dearly love. I also had a Baby Taylor, but sold it to buy this one. Overall This guitar is very nice for the price. It plays very well and considering I have played an electric mostly, it is relatively easy to play after I had the action set down. If it was lost or stole I would definitely buy another. I have really grown to love the sound of this guitar and it is one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen. I don't like the oversized strap button and the fact that there is only one strap button. I look at Yamaha APX's, Ibanez AE's, and Takamine jasmine's. This guitar just seemed to have more for the mony and fit my budget a little better. I don't know how much weight my opinion carries since I'm by far no expert, but I thinks this one hell of guitar for the money. I would take it over my brother's Yamaha any day of the week.
