The same as below. Mine is s/s/h. I like the Basswood, I know its soft but I don't gig with it and I love the tone. The floating bridge with the grover tuners works great and doesn't go out of tune. The neck seems bigger or fatter than a fender.

I changed the neck and middle pups. To my ear they sounded muddy. I put in Fender Tex-Mex pups and love the tone. I play blues/rock and it really works for me. Not overly bright just nice and full. The bridge pup seems fine, I can get a decent EVH out of it with my Marshall amp so im happy. I tried to play Godsmack but it really won't go there.

I've only been playing for about a year and this is my only guitar. If it was lost or stolen I would buy another one asap. I tried mim strats and like the Dean better. For me it just felt right. Its a great guitar thats well made. A great bang for the buck.

Left-handed. Made in Korea, have no idea of the year. I won't bother repeating the features, but I want to mention the Grover tuners and the quality inlays. Purchased used, have no idea if any freebies came with it new.

The sound is okay, but it would be much better if the Avalanche One didn't have two major flaws. The neck and mid pups are too large for the overall width of the strings. The poles for high E are not directly under the string; they're not even close. The poles for the B string only slightly better. They could be angled to compensate, but they weren't. The bridge pup is just fine, & sounds good. I should mention that the pups are Dean pups. The second major flaw is the tone pots do very little/nearly nothing to the tone. I have recently read that this is a common problem on left-handed guitars, something about incorrect wiring. Because I know little about guitar wiring, and I have no intention of paying to have this inexpensive guitar worked on, I'll probably never know for certain.
I used to play it directly into a Crate 1RD, Crate G130CXL, or Fender Rumble 25 (yes, a bass amp). I now use the Boss Metal Zone 2 not for distortion, but to boost the highs and for more tone control.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The overall fit and finish is pretty good. The B string tuner is an awkward position, and the tone knobs are really cheap. I must say that the premature wear on the knobs might be the fault of the previous owner(s)--Maybe they turned and twisted them trying to get the tone pots to actually work? I've already mentioned the misalligned neck and mid pups, and the ineffective tone pots.

The guitar rarely leaves my house. It's quite solid, and I don't see why it wouldn't hold up to travelling and live performances. I'll defer to the ratings from the pros.

My other electric is a left-handed Epiphone G400. In all fairness the tone pots on the G400 aren't very good either. I know that I'm comparing a s/s/h to a h/h, but the G400 embarasses the Avalanche One in tone and volume. I don't regret buying the Avalanche One, but I would advise anyone considering one to first thoroughly inspect and test it.

i beleive made in 2000 in korea. 22 frets 1 volume , 2 tones, 5 way selector, dean pickups, floating tremelo, transparent blue sunburst 2 single coil pick ups ( neck) and humbucker at bridge. has jumbo frets and last but definatly not the very least GROVER TUNERS (a bonus)

i use it for worship,
Christian music i have a fender champ amp ( it sucks) but I have it hooked to a boxed in 10" subwoofer wich gives it a sound all on its own. this guitar makes it sound superb. Has quite a variety of tone. The jumbo frets let you bend those notes for a good blues sound or jazz. I dont use the tremelo bar only because i dont usually use one. But I have bent up and down on it rather hard and it still stayed in tune. thanks to the Grovers. Yes, it does have fret buzz I plan to get this fixed but its not too bothersome. I found if you dont push so hard on the strings and keep your fingers close to the frets, this buzzing can be greatly reduced or eliminated.

the set up from the factory was perfect
the middle pick-up needed to be lowered an 8th of an inch
folks this is a solid , well built guitar i recomend the transparent blue color it looks almost turqoise and then Fades into a dark blue beautiful flaweless finish and the pick guard is mother of pearl oh and also i dont know why no-one is mentioning this, but the dot inlays are abolone they really go good with the blue basswood body and the mother of pearl guard. this guitar is a beauty. I dont like the headstock though it looks like a fender wanna be and it dont have the Dean wings on it :<( oh the action is something different for me my fingers never touch the fretboard because of the jumbo frets it plays great though

i have been playing for a few years off and on so I'm sorta experienced player. I do know about correct string height and and set- up and this guitar has it minus the fret buzz. I have played all different quality guitars and I am totally sold on DEAN I have the Dean Exotica gloss natural fm and it is a guitar in its own class. And no, I don't work for Dean, I only wish I did. for the price this guitar is a steal. buy it.

I really like the sound and tone of this guitar. I have written many reviews on strat import copies i have owned, but I like this one the best so far. It has a very nice strat arsenal of sounds. I like the Humbucker its got a nice round sound. Not too bity pretty rich and full. One day I will own the Fender American deluxe fat strat. This guitar is like the little brother to it and sounds close to it.
I really enjoy this guitar. it sounds great with an 11 set of strings instead of the standard tens.
The second positon up from the neck setting is a little too muddy, everything else sounds good to me

The guitar is very good looking. It was nice to get a new guitar that actually looked new. No flaws that I could see. I have heard people complain about fret buzz but I set mine up and eliminated any minor buzz. It seems to be a nicely built guitar. I really like it. It seems better built than many other imports i have had. The pick ups produce nicer tones also.
Very nice for the price

Been playing for 33 years..have owned way too much to mention. Everything from very very cheap imports to very expensive Gibsons, Ovations, Hagstoms etc.
I love the neck of this guitar. If you have short fingers like i do you'll love the feel of this neck. I would replace it if it were stolen. It sounds the closect to the Fat Strat I want to get one day. This will do very nicely for now. I think this guitar has beautiful tone and is a step up from many import copies. It just suits me.

I bought my Avalanche One for 210 Euro, which is rather cheap if I see the prices other reviewers paid. It has 22 frets, 2 single-coil and one humbucker (in bridge-position) pick-ups and 2 tone and 1 volume control, a 5-way selector and a well working tremolo. All of that make it a very all-round guitar for many different styles. The body is basswood and the neck maple with rosewood fretborad. The body colour I have is a swell transparent braziliaburst, but also black, and transparent red and blue are available. It has a classy mother of pearl pickguard, although this may appear a bit too swanky to some people. A final word about the tuners: Grover.

As I said, thanks to the many features, with this guitar you can play all sorts of music. I, myself, play modern rock mostly, but the guitar is also suitable for metal and the 60's style rock. i don't know about blues and jazz really, but I think you can make that groovy blues/jazz sound also quitte well. I use a Behringer Firebird GX 108 amp, and I'm rather satisfied with the combination. The sound is rather warm and full, but with the right pick-ups turned on, one can also get an icy sharp sound.

I haven't discovered any mistakes on the guitar and it didn't need any adjusting. I can't really say much about this topic. It's fine.

Since I don't have the guitar for a very long time I didn't have to deal with warranties, company employees or whatever. The only thing I heared about Dean is that there warranty stuff is arranged very well.

I can only conclude that this is an excellent guitar for its price. I tried some other guitars (Squier mostly) but this one was much better. For guitar and amp together I paid 280 Euro's, which is practically the same as you pay for a complete starterspack. But I recommend you this guitar with a nice amplifier. Both the guitar and the amp will be better!

I play alternitive, puck, metal, and classic rock and it suite all of them. my amp is a marshall AVT50 with a built in overdrive, reverb, and a distortion and they work perfect together. Its sounds are all fat even the whammy bar sounds fat. I do not dislike anything about thos guitar it is awesome.

I'm in Yellow No. 5. This fits our Power Pop, College Rock Style. Very little Feedback unless you try for it, nice and quiet on the dirty channel during palm mutes. I use the Peavey Delta Blues 2-10" with it and it's like TEA and HONEY. I can strum a chord in distortion or in clean and it is fully rich. Good for single or octave notes too. It's taking me a while to get used to the headstock shape. The guitar had some buzz on the frets and so did the other Avalanches that I tried. Also, I added another spring so I could drop "D" tune once in a while without losing tune. It also used to go through the whammy process when I bent a note up. You could hear the other strings drop during the strummed chord. I took the whammy bar off since our music doesn't require it. It was set up mostly correct for the avarage player so I can't complain about it too much. -2 for fret buzz. The intonation was perfect.

This well price guitar which I baught for $270 but book price is $330 is a good guitar for a intermediate player but good enough for a good one.
It has a 5-way selector 2 tone 1 volume controls on a strat style body w/ a perloid pickguard, w/ grover tuners, rosewood fretboard, with a high gloss finish which I belive is made in the U.S.A.
This guitar is very durable and takes a very good beating it is moderatly heavy and gives you one humber closest to the bridge wich is standard strat type.
And maybe the best feature a wamy bar that can get the strings to go higher or lower.
