22 frets
3-way control
Dual humbuckers
The weight is bit on the light side but it's a smaller guitar so it is to be expected.

The economic version of DFH. The output of the pickups aren't as high as EMG 81/85, but it has the best sound in this price range

I bought it from someone else the intonation was a bit off but it's no floyd rose so very easy to adjust.

Haven't had a problem yet but haven't tried on stage either so can't give an opinion really.

I agree with the other reviews - great finish. 22 frets. 3/4 size from the real Dean Dime which is one huge guitar. This one has 24 3/4 inch scale neck but with a small body. Black hardware. Basswood body, etc . .
Sound

Sounds good considering the small body. The PUPs are decent and I can hear why others have installed better ones - can only improve the sound. Really, not the best sounding guitar considering it's size and price - that's why I gave it an 8.

Thick finish. Very fast action after I did some major work. The bridge was slightly off center and I couldn't intonate properly. I'm a guitar tech, so I fixed it. Not to get into details, but I relocated, centered, and sunk (deeper)the bridge and it did the trick.
The neck is wonderful and the frets are small but polished. I was amazed how fast I could get the action with no fretting out on string bends! I gave it a 10 because I think I got one from a bad batch and I would hope other production runs will be perfect.

Nice small body. Should with stand playing live. It is a very light guitar. The finish is thick and all the buttons, tuners, and hardware solid.

Taking into account that maybe I got one that was a little off (some players may not even bother to adjust it). I mean it was quite playable right out of the box, but I want things perfect. If you get one of these guitars, check the problems I just mentioned. Send it back for a better one or fix it yourself. It's a $169 guitar, so go for it!

I play metal, it's just what I expected from it, great sound, great distortion, really easy to play, pinched harmonics sound awesome, my fender stratocaster and my babilon doesn't have that quality of squealing sounds!!!

Ok it just has one flaw, a screw thats misaligned and is not attaching anything on the back of the body. Besides that the finish is just amazing!, the headstock is too cool and obviously its shape is sooou metal! The pickups are properly located, the bridge is ok, the controls are great (ok i changed them for the bc rich screeching skullz, i luv them).
Okay i must admit its just so light weighted that when i play it standed-up

Definitely it outstands alone, it gives you power to play your metal songs, its so light that you can even give them soo much feeling it makes you look good. Like any other guitar i have even if its made from steel i take care of them like they were my girlfriends. Definitely the guitar i wanted to start my gigs, it gives people the idea of what you're going to do.

I hit the volume control to hard, so it fell off, got it repaired and its perfect again. The problem is that i got it repaired outside Dean guitars cause theres not any customer support here in mexico

A great deal for your money, the only thing that you'll miss is the tremolo arm theres not even a place for it, deinitely if you have the money the Dean from hell is the option, if not, then the Baby will be enough. Comparing with bc rich warlock, there are 2 frets less, and the tremolo arm, but its to lightweight and the sound is too good.

Made in 2005, Basswood body, Maple neck, Rosewood freatboard.
They should call this an ML junior like a les paul junior. The dean ML is more or less the biggest guitar you can buy, so a 3/4 size one is not at all small when next to a strat, is still bigger actually, and is still solid with a full size neck.

I immediately put in a Bill Lawrence XL-500 flipped like dimes, this guitar sounds abolutely awesome though a marshall valvestate, Very loud and punchy sound. The stock neck pickup is fine aswell, no real rush to change it at all.

Finish? This guitar has one of the best finish's you could ever put on a guitar!! Was set up perfectly from the factory, i can't find any flaws.
This guitar plays very well, the neck feels great and is very comfortable to play sitting down or standing up.

If you are buying a lower end dime sig to play in your bedroom, save a bit of money and buy one of these, you won't hit it in on anything, will have the dean from hell paintjob and use the left over money to buy a dimebucker or bill lawrence XL-500.

24-3/4" scale, 22 frets, two humbuckers, fixed bridge, 1 each tone/volume, 3-way selector switch, pretty basic. Lightning bolt paint job, like Dime's original. Basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard. Body shaped just like an ML but 3/4 the size. Came with 10 watt amp, gigbag, picks, strap, poster and hat. Pretty cool deal for $200. A 10 for the value.

Play mostly metal, sounds pretty darn good on this. The pickups are Dean pieces, but actually sound very good. Nice full sound at bridge, more trebly, same at neck but more bassy. Very cool combined sound. Play through MXR Dime distortion into Boss GE-7 EQ pedal into Vox AD30VT amp. For the money, I really enjoy playing this guitar. The pieckups are a tad on the muddy side, but what can you expect. Am swapping the bridge for a Bill Lawrence L-500XL soon anyways. At $250 for the whole pkg (new pup incl.), should really rock.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Action was a bit high, but easily remedied by lowering the bridge to my liking and have no fret buzz. Awesome unfinished smooth neck! Can't say how nice it is for the money. Plays fantastic. Adjusted pickups more to my liking, but came set about 1/2 way between high and low limits. The only real thing I noticed which is more cosmetic than functional is that the bridge pickup pole pieces are strange. On the high E string, it centers up with the string but as you move across the strings, the alignment changes until at the high E string, the string sits right at the edge of the pole piece. I'm OCD about this kind of thing so it bugged me at first, but it doesn't make any difference in sound so I got over it. Have no idea why this is as the string spacing is even. Oh well, will be changing to a blade pickup soon so this will fix my compulsion with this one flaw. Still, great for the money though.

Don't know about this yet but as to be expected with a cheaper guitar, required use of heavy strings to hold a steady tune. Seems well built and should last pretty well as long as you don't beat the crap out of it, but that goes for any gitfiddle.

Been playing a few years also own a Jackson SLSMG Solist and ESP LTD H-207. While this is no SLSMG, I definitely like it way more than my $500 ESP. Pickups are better, feel is better and look is way cooler. Only regret is wish I could have bought in store and handpicked, but for $200? Not a big deal. If lost, yes i'd buy another, maybe a satin black baby ML to custom paint for fun. I recommend this to anyone of any skill level. You will really enjoy this thing. Might eventually buy a baby V and baby Z as well and set each one up differently. Best feature by far is the neck, AWESOME, what a cool looking headstock too. And as a final cool feature, the shape lends itself to being a built in stand. I give it a 10 for the money, 11 if I could.
