i didnt see any reviews of this product so i thought i may as well post one. ml shape, 24.75 scale length, tune o matic, grover tuners, v shape neck. i believe it was made in korea. it has a mahogany body with a flame maple laminate and a set mahogany neck, all painted black. there is a gibson style 3 way selector switch, 2 gold dean passive humbuckers (hence the black gold)

i play mostly metal with a fair bit of rock thrown in. for rock, these pickups are perfect. the neck pickup is especially creamy and the bridge humbucker fulfills all my rock needs in that i can play gnr, gary moore, thin lizzy etc. it can do the les paul thing as, you'd expect from a guitar such as this, except a bit weaker. clean, it can do sparkley jazzy tones, and im loathe to swap the bridge pickup out for a bill lawrence l500xl, even though i want a more 'metal' sound because it really is a rock guitar and tonally its perfect for a more rock oriented sound.

i got it second hand, and have yet to set it up. when i got it a string was missing and the action and intonation was way out of whack, it still played great. the neck has a fatness to it that i can just grab when im bending, even though i have quite small hands. the smaller scale length is what drew me to this guitar and i have to say it really is easy to play. ive had a look at dean usa's and the binding and finish is nowhere near that standard, but what do you expect for a 500 quid guitar. it plays well and thats the most important thing.

looks solid, feels solid. grover tuners etc, so its probably going to last.

ive been playing for 11 years, since i was an ickle tike. i have a few other guitars. a shecter c7 hellraiser, an ltd mh400 and i play through a roland cube. i got rid of a much louder marshall because i dont gig any more. i only play at home and record. you can check out my music at
www.myspace.com/maxbohemiasmusic if you're interested. i dont play the dean on those songs but i plan to rectify that very soon.
i was considering a bc rich exotic classic bich but since it was made of nato, i just couldnt trust that bc rich didnt cut corners on other things that mattered. the dean is all mahogany. thats a good sign. and indeed it is a good guitar.
