I play blues. All styles of Blues from jump swing blues on a Epiphone Emperor to Paladin's style rockin blues on a Strat. This guitar was specifically bought to allow me to perform country blues ala Muddy Waters style in a live setting.
The guitar cam with Phosphor Bronze strings which sounded good when played acoustically but seemed to lack when played electrically. I switched to GSH roundwound 13's which really respond better to the pickups. Although I have not performed live with this guitar, I can tell from running it through my Vibro-King that I'll have to either put some kind of baffle inside or watch the volume on stage. The mix of the piazo and the lipstick pickup gives a really nice tone. The only thing I would have added for more sound blending, would have been tone controls. It has a knob that fades between the two pickups and a volume knob for each pickup so the tone is totally dependant on the mix of the two pickups.

The guitar was set up perfectly from the factory unless someone at the store monkeyed aound with it before it went on the floor. There were no visable flaws and the Hawaian scene engraving is really first rate. I'm guessing that the engraving is not hand done but that does not matter to me. Everyone who I've shown this guitar to drops thier jaw. I like that the body is thinner than most resophonic guitars since I like to play standing up, I can see see the neck easier and I think the thinner body will feedback less.

You could kill someone if you were to swing this at them in a bar fight. I don't think it would even bend should it hit something. It looks like it is welded very strong with no signs of seams. I had strap locks installed so it wont fall off. Fingerprints show up but it's chrome for cryin out loud. If the gold or chrome tarnishes it will just ad character. I can't afford a back up and unless a freak accident breaks the neck off all I'll need for back up is strings.

I've been playing for 32 years. If I lost it or had it stolen I'd find some way to get another one. I could not afford the National Resoelectric I wanted so until then, this should get the old blues sound across like I wanted.
