Korean made superstrat model with 24 frets and Dean wings inlay. Made in the nineties. Solid swamp ash body, maple neck with rosewood fretboard, rounded body curves. 5-way selector, volume, tone, tone, with push pull to coil split bridge humbucker. H-S-H pickup config, stock pickups that sound very bassy, passive electronics. Cream bind round body, see thru violin finish. Floyd rose tuners, nut lock. Big chunk of wood for the neck. It's pretty wide (same as ibanez necks only not as slim). No accessoires.

When i was looking for a guitar I compared it with several Ibanez RG models (500 series). I liked finish of the ibanez models better, but the dean was much nicer curved. Compared them while playing a marshall vs100 solid state amp and a boogie caliber 50+. The pickups had much more bass in the pickups then the ibanez. Neck pickup could become really blurry if u used much distortion. Liked it clean far better then the ibanez. I use it with d'addario string that sound very bright in itself. It hasnt got the extreme output like EMG or those metal pickups from Seymour and DiMarzio but its enough to play some ruff stuff. Luckily the electronics cavity is shielded so i dont have hum at all. The push pull is really a nice function. Switches the bridge hb to sc. Can become pretty crispy. Nice for edgy rythm techniques. Overall much more versatile than ibanez. Got good quality wood, and good acoustic response. So, phaps i'll upgrade pickups one day, tho didnt find that necessairy up till the present day.

I didnt set the action really low, cuz i dont like that. Did put thicker strings on it (0.11). Got a few minor flaws in the finish. But the hardware held up quite good. Had to change the little clamp blocks in the trem cuz i screwed them to tight, so they broke. Nice pots, shielded cavities, good fretwork. Good quality wood. (This guitar weighs a few kilo's). Just a fine quality guitar. Much better than those basswood and agathis things u have nowadays.
Reliability/Durability

Well, i let it drop while riding my bike. Fell on its head. But survived it. Got a few dents and scratches now but i dont mind. I always used it without backup. Cuz my back-up guitar is of much more inferior quality. Have it for 12 years now. Only had the usual problems like pots becoming a bit noisy, screws that had to be replaced. But those where items easy to be fixxed. Dont understand why u have to pay a zillion bucks for a so called "vintage" with all its hardware desintegrating.

Never dealt with the company. They r becoming quite popular again. They have reissues of all their famous eighties usa models with the extreme body shapes. I just like their guitars. Have played a dean cadillac to, but it was a bit 2 expensive for me that time.

I've been playing for 17 years now. This guitar accompanied me with many gigs. Never failed on me. I cant buy it again cuz there r no such guitars being made anymore by dean. I would buy a dean guitar tho. They offer much for less.
