This Dime O Flame is an ML body style which is similar to a flying V, but has and extra arm/horn on the lower front. It was made in Korea and looks really great with it's black lacquer and graphic flames with skulls floating in the fire and sealed into the finish. Some say its cheesy, but I think it looks excellent, I just hope it lasts and doesn't fade. It has abalone dots and a large split V-neck headstock. The mahogany solid body makes it sound great along with it's Dime-bucker bridge pickup. I like that the tips of the ML are not pointy, but rounded. It works great for sitting on a chair and playing without a strap, as it can stick straight up, or to the side due to the shape of the two sets of V's. It is really amazing looking and is a very exciting guitar. It wakes up the crowds and they cheer when it comes out. The Dimebucker really rips, but really haven't used the neck pup much yet. I like that it is solid mahogany. I like the abalone dots, but it would be nice if it had 24 frets. Due to its shape, it does not fit on our floor stands so well. When I got it home it had to be set up immediately, and I heard Dean doesn't set them up and this is why the price is a little lower than the competition. The neck was bowed and the truss rod was tightened all the way, so if you get one, make sure to have this adjusted asap, or you may be getting buzzing on some frets, but maybe real guitar shops do this for customers, as I just got mine at GC. They want you to get a performance guarantee, but if the problem exists when you buy it you are out of luck. My luthier is really great and is very reasonable, but they were laughing at this contraption, especially that it was named after someone called "Dimebag". Passive electronics, Mahogany set C shaped neck, Rosewood fretboard, Floyd Rose Licensed locking tremelo.

Fits in perfectly with what we want to do with it, RATM, metal and rock. Like the switch and it's placement on the front horn. Sounds great. using it with a Dr. Z Maz 18 Jr. and a Marshall DSL 50 with a vintage 30 4x12.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Not set up well, must have that checked asap. Floyd Rose was set pretty well. Speed knobs are cool as you can adjust the tone and volume knobs with sweaty slippery hands. Cool design in the finish that hopefully will hold up well. I imagine it may have problems if dropped, so take care of it.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Can depend on it and can stand live playing. It is a large guitar though. Strap buttons are firm. It is solid mahogany so it should be OK for a long time, even if the finish gets marred or cracked we will just get it fixed.

Several years playing experience, but have been studying everyday guitars and equipment specs for several years now. I got this on clearance sale at 50% off. Have several guitars, each has it's own sound and function a Gibson SG Junior with Iommi pickup, An Ibanez RG 270DX with Iommi (B) Fender SCN (M) and Gibson Angus Young (Neck) with Floyd Rose Licensed. American made HW1 Fender Strat with Custom 69s and stock American Standard Tele, Custom hand-made acoustic, and the Dean ML Dime O Flame. Compared it to other Dean ML's CFH, Razorbacks, and liked this one best. See http://youtube.com/lilhendrix132

the finish on the guitar is amazing! u will fall in love with it. the flames show just how hot this guitar is! also it has a floyd rose double locking tremolo which ur are definitly going to need on a guitar like this. the tuners are great, i havent had to use them alot because the guitar stays in tune almost all the time. i do alot of lead parts, soloing, and improvising so i know how it is when u bend a string so far and return only to find that its horribly out of tune. thats not a problem here. the neck isnt as thin as i would like but that doesnt prevent me from doing sick riffs flawlessly. it also has set neck construction as opposed to bolt-on. it has 22 frets which (although some people want more) is plenty for me. u rarely need to pass the 22nd fret anyway in most classic rock. it has two volume knobs and one master tone. the volume knobs have been soldered just like dimebag darrell had them, which adds a nice little touch of authenticity. it also includes the signature "dimebucker" as the bridge pickup.

Sound : 10
i play alot of classic rock, 80's rock, and hard rock. and this guitar fits the bill almost perfectly. most of the time im using the dimebucker, which provides sick tone and a full metallic sound when played in high-gain situations. when you turn down the distortion for a more classic sound it doesnt let you down. also the neck pickup I use for an acoustic sound or if I need bassier chords. both pickups are whisper quiet, but the dimebucker seems to have the job covered most of the time. I play through a fender Frontman 2 15G, but Ive hooked it up to a Line 6 and the sound is impeccable. especially on the preset "cowboys from hell".

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
this guitar had very few flaws with it. the action is low but not too low. the pickups were adjusted well, nothing loose or out of place. the only thing I didn't like was the pickup selector was a little loose. but I just tightened it up. it was no real problem.

Reliability/Durability : 9
this guitar is durable but the thing is that it is very hard not to run into things with its awkward shape. I've hit it alot and there were no dings but once i accidently hit it a little hard and the wood completely chipped to pieces. I picked them all up and glued them back into place, but there is a nasty looking scar on it now. the finish doesnt wear off but it does shatter if you drop a wah pedal on it. other than that it is really durable and I have had no trouble with the strap buttons. also the strings that came on it are still on it! I probably would gig with this thing and not have a backup.

I havent had to get it repaired yet so I don't have much experience in this department but I did buy it from alpha music. so I get free repairs for life.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 2 years and own 3 other electric guitars (Ibanez Gio, Squier strat, 1972 Univox Gimme). Also I own a Fender Frontman 15G amplifier but am upgrading to a Line 6 spyder3. I'm sure I would definitley want to buy it again. its probably the best decision I've made. I love the finish on this guitar and it definitly suits it. Ive compared this guitar to a Jackson Warrior WRMG and I picked this one because it was much easier to break out screaming harmonics and nail sweet licks. the only thing I wish it had would probably be cooler inlays but thats purely cosmetic and on a guitar like this if dimebag darrell didn't have them then I don't want them.

as i am sure you know if you are reading this, it is mahogany body with set mahogany neck, floyd rose trem, dimebucker in the bridge.

Sound : 9
I run this through a Randall Warhead 2x12 combo, the dimebucker is a very hot pick up, has great chunk and pinch harmonic just jump from this thing. The neck pick up is a stock Dean pick up and i was very suprised and how well it sounds, it has a nice full creamy sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I had to work with the action a little to get it as low as i like, but not a big deal. One thing i was not happy with at all was that the floyd trem had the screw in arm, not the one with the collar, was the first thing i changed out on it. As far as the finish goes, it is beautiful and the fret markers being abalone was a nice touch.

Reliability/Durability : 9
real solid built guitar, of course i never play a gig without a back up but it could be done with this guitar.

Customer Support : 10
i have had contact with dean via email with a few concerns on this and a couple of other deans i have, they are GREAT to email you right back and the guy really went out of his way to make me happy

I have been playing for 30 years now and i have owned MANY guitars over the years, I have owned deans, jackson (usa), Kramer, fender, gibson etc.... and i am very happy with this guitar. If it were stolen I would buy another, though I may go for the Far Beyond Driven model or the Dean from hell just for the cosmetic change.

Its got pretty standard features - two humbuckers, floyd rose, etc. If you are reading this, you probably know what it has, or can check the website for details. It gets an 8 b/c it's not loaded w/additional features, but it does what it's built for -- to play hard rock and sound killer. If you want a great heavy metal/hard rock guitar that screams, this is a good one!

Sound : 10
I was surprised at the amount of different tones I could get from this guitar. I'd heard about how good they were, so I tried one out - it was great! Obviously, it is a hard rock guitar - the bridge p/up can create some massive tones - great distortion and easy to grab harmonics. The neck p/up is full and has tons of sustain. I play through a Mesa Boogie Road King, pod xt live, mxr evh phase 90, and a couple of wahs. The only odd thing was mentioned before -- the volume knobs are opposite what I'm used to -- not a big deal, just different. The Floyd rose responds well, and has stayed in tune so far. One great thing is the addition of little "nubs" on the volume knobs - let's you grab them easily - never seen it before, but real easy to roll off the volume live.
Overall, it is a hard rocking guitar, with a great stage look. Lot's of sustain, and good hard rock/metal tones. I really like the p/up config, and was surprised at how much I have enjoyed playing the guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Action was good - not super low, but felt good out of the box. No flaws at all on the body. This guitar is setup just like Dime's was -- down to the electrical tape holding down the neck p/up! Floyd Rose was setup perfectly. Overall, impressive

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I personally will never gig w/out a backup -- just incase. The guitar seems very solid, I've had it a few weeks, and it stays in tune, and has shown no signs of wear, despite me playing it alot since the purchase. This is my first Dean guitar, so I don't know about how they hold up, but it seems similar to many of the solid guitars I play.

Customer Support : No Opinion
1st dean -- never had to deal w/them -- hope I don't have to!

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing almost 30 years, own about 25 guitars - main guitars are Peavey Wolfgang, Gibson Les Paul's, and I play several Jacksons, Schecters, and Fenders. I could see see this guitar going into one of my main guitars - -the neck is nice and wide at the nut, and easy to get to all the frets. The pick up control and volume knobs might take a little getting used to for me, but otherwise, a great guitar. I would have loved to have the option for an unfinished neck (they have it on the low-end model), but it plays nicely as is.

Made in Korea 2005. 22 frets, Mohagany body, set meck, Dual humbuckers with Dimebucker in Bridge, Grover Tuners, and Licensed Floyd Rose trem. Has the Dime o Flame custom finish. My only problem is that the brigde volume knob is bleow the neck volume knob, not a big deal, just a little annoying.

Sound : 10
I play metal/hard rock. My current rig is a Kustom 200dfx head, behringer cab reloaded with Eminence Texas Heat drivers, running through a Digitech XP100 whammy/wah, Danelectro Coolcat chorus Behringer Hell Babe wah and the built in effects on the amp. This Axe Kills- Period! The artificial and natural harmonics jump right out effortlessly, and the distortion the dimebucker gets is second to none. No noise, buzzing or feedback. The combination of the dimebucker and the floyd really allows for some great sounding squeals and what not.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I purchased this guitar from Ed roman Guitars in Vegas. They went through and set it up for me, and I gotta say, This guitar stays in tune like nothing else I have ever owned. As far as manufacturing, the routing is great, very straight and the pickups and hard ware are all mounted properly, straight and tight.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I play hard, so my axes have to be able to put up with my abuse. Thid guitar should have no problems. Other than the floyd rose snapping a string or something, I wont have to rely on a backup axe, besides, these guitars, tho produced in Korea are still Dime's Signature axes and Dime wouldnt put his name on a piece of Shit

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never Dealt with them, hope I never have to. 5 year warranty

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing for 20 plus years and been playing proffesionally for the last 10. I have owned several tyoes, brands and makes of guitars, and been a self proclaimed die hard Ibanez man for as long as I can remember. This guitar simply buries the competition. This axe is exactly what I expected. I love my Freakin deans and if anyone were to steal it, I would hunt them down, and go Primal Concrete sledge on the thief. I love evrything abiout this guitar and will be adding to my collection. Nothing but deans for me for the rest of my life. Nothing compares to this axe. period.
