Features : 7
Korean made, Mahogany body and necks, rosewood fingerboard
2 per neck, Dean branded exposed coil humbuckers.
2 volume, 2 tone, Neck select switch, pickup select switch
grover mini tuners on 7 string neck, grover standard tuners
on the 6 string neck.

Guitar has only one strap button. Single cutaway on 7 string
double cutaway on 6 string. Cut the 7 string off and it would
look just like a Les Paul double cut away.

Sound : 4
Musically, the instrument has a diverse tone. It is rich but not boomy

Like having a 7 string and a 6 string on 1 guitar.

Dislike, cheap tuners and worse bridge and saddles. The 7 strings
bridge has no springs in the saddles so intonation is virtually impossible,

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Action is good, fit is good, finish is not so good. Both necks
have several spots where air bubbles popped while the laquer was
curing, they are tiny but some are sharp. Binding on the necks is
hit and miss. One side of one neck is almost perfect, but the
other side, the binding doesn't even line up with the fingerboard.
7 strings saddle is junk. Both necks have plastic nuts. The neck
selector switch was poorly soldered and was grounding out the pickup
in one position. The Grover tuners on this guitar, are the worst tuners I've ever seen on a guitar. The cheap tuners on my Mexican
Stratocasters and miles ahead of these. They do not maintain tuning
well and getting tuned is quite an adventure.
seen on a guitar

Reliability/Durability : 2
This guitar will never be used live, 1 its too heavy and poorly
balanced, 2, it's has only 1 strap button, the finish will likely
not hold up if the poor quality of it new is any indication.
This guitar might be dependable but its flaws make it a certainty
that it will never be used in a situation requiring dependability.

Customer Support : 5
I haven't called support. I did leave questions on the manufacturers
site but have received no replies from the manufacturer. The warranty
is basically worthless. I bought this guitar from Musicians Friend.

Overall Rating : 1
I've been playing guitar for 25+ years, as well as others for more
than 30 years.

Nothing I wished I would have asked.

If this guitar was lost or stolen, I would probably be ticked at
the loss but greatful to be rid of it.

Ibanez AGX721 7 string was the guitar I was looking at when I came
across this Dean. I chose the Dean because it had the Dean name, was
a double neck and was inexpensive.

I wish this guitar had decent tuners, springs in the saddles so it
could be intonated, a decent finish would be nice too.

I would recommend anyone considering purchasing this guitar or any
guitar for that matter, check it out in person first. If you can't
hold it in your hands and play it, don't buy it!

Features : 9
7- and 6-string necks, 22 jumbo frets on each neck, rosewood fretboards, mahogany body, Grover tuners, two volume and two tone knobs. 3-way switch for the pickups (bridge/both/neck), 2 Dean humbuckers for each neck. 2-way switch to change between the pickup sets. Set necks. Tune-O-Matic bridges and a stop tailpiece for the 6-string and on the 7-string the strings go through the body. Weights about 7 kg, so it's quite heavy.

Sound : 9
Sounds great to me. I play it through a Yamaha DG80-112A amp and it sounds pretty good. Very good for rock, blues, even metal. The pickups aren't noisy at all. The bridge pickups have a bright and tight sound, while the neck pickups sound warm and smooth. I play mostly blues, rock and metal and this guitar can cover them all. I keep the 7-string neck in Eb tuning, so it's great for stuff like Guns N' Roses, Slayer and so on.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The setup is fine. It stays in tune fairly well, but the 3rd string (G) tends to go out of tune easier than other strings. And that brings me to the only real flaw I found on this guitar: the nuts. They're made of plastic and they are badly attached to the neck. The one on the 7-string is a bit better and the 7-string neck stays in tune a bit better than the 6-string. The nuts seem to be a problem with all Dean guitars. They work but could be a lot better.

Another thing, for some reason this guitar came with only one strap knob. Not a problem really, I drilled a hole next to the 7-string neck and put Schaller strap-locks in (got them as an extra when I bought the guitar). It's quite heavy so if you plan to play it while standing strap-locks are essential.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Seems pretty sturdy. I've hit the neck to a table or something several times and I've yet to see a single scratch.

Customer Support : No Opinion

I wasn't actually looking for a doubleneck, but I tried this just because I hadn't played a doubleneck before and liked it a lot. If this thing was stolen I'd propably miss it. I only wish it had a Floyd Rose -style bridge for the 6-string neck. If you are looking for a 7-string but want to use a 6-string as well, and cannot afford to buy two separate guitars, buy one of these.

This is a Dean doubleneck 6 and 7 string guitar. Top neck is 7, bottom is 6. Beautiful sparklie gray color....rosewood fretboards. Both necks are set, two volume knobs, two tone knobs, one switch between the necks to switch between them. Can't select both at once, oh well. Nice stock pickups, as with most Deans. Passive humbuckers on both necks. One interesting thing is that the six string is a tune-o-matic bridge with a stopbar tailpeice, while the seven string is tune-o-matic string-through body. Comes with Grover sealed tuners, which work incredibly well. I got it with a brand new hardshell dean case too. Only reason it's not a 10 is because it only has 1 strapbutton, which is basically useless. I hate playing sitting down, so this is a big problem for me.

Sound : 9
I play like this: Dean EVO DN76---> George Dennis P.O.S. Wah --> Boss MT2---->DOD Ice Box Chorus---->Line6 Delay Modeler--->Peavey Bandit 212. The sound i get from this guitar is great. I play everything from classical guitar to rock to metal, and now i can play 7-string stuff too....yay. The stock pickups sound decent, the sustain and tone are incredible. Volume knobs suck...they are basically either off or on.....2-10 has no volume change. The tone knobs however are very responsive, which is great for me. The clean tones from this guitar are incredible...full-bodies chords and bell-like notes.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
As far as Dean did, this was great...I got it through the mail so i had to tune it and clean it of course. The intonation however is perfect. No flaws whatsoever.

Reliability/Durability : 8
This guitar will last a long time. The wood/finish doesn't dent or chip easily, it doesn't even get fingerprints on it that bad. As far as gigging goes, i'd be nervous just cause it's a large doubleneck, but i don't anticipate any problems, as it's built solidly. Plus i'll have to be playing sitting down, so......

Customer Support : 10
Never really dealt with Dean, but on their website they have guys who work for the company run message boards, and they seem to answer often. I've even seen some posts from Dean himself.

Overall Rating : 9
I've played fenders, esps, and ibanezes. Nothing short of a gibson will be better than this guitar. i bought this guitar just to have a doubleneck guitar, but it has become my favorite to play. I got an amazing deal on this guitar, so if it were stolen/broken i would be very sad, and probably couldn't afford another one....i only wish it had come with 2 strap buttons.
