The sound is actually amazing. When buying I had figured to one day replace the stock pickups. There is no need for changing the stock pickups, they are very versatile and sound great. I tried a few Gibson LP's, the Dean does sound better in my opinion. I tried a lot of other guitars in this price range, nothing even came close. They play very clear and allow every note of a chord to be clear. They sound very full and rich.

I was use to an Ibanez Wizard neck, so this neck felt thick at first. Now that I'm use to it, it feels better in my opinion. And actually faster.
I bend the strings a lot, and haven't had it go out of tune at all. The Schaller tuners feels very solid and precise.

Mine weighs over 10 pounds and everything seems solid. Dean has a 5 year warranty.

Not having experiencce with Dean guitars I checked them out thoroughly before purchasing. There website is very informative and Dean Zelinsky himself answers questions on the forum. I sent an e-mail question and had a response the next day. I have not experienced very many companies in any industry with that much access.

I would buy this guitar immediately if I had to replace it. I am sold on Dean guitars and my next guitar will be a Dean as well. The sound, feel and appearance of this guitar is awesome.

Sounds better than most "real" LP's I've owned or played... The truly cool thing in this catagory are the coil taps doubles your tonal possibilities (LP - tele sounds)... the stock pickups sound really good, but I might throw a Duncan JB in it for comparison ... I currently run this with a Line 6 Flextone II-XL (for gigs)... and I will definitely record with this bad-boy, it also sounds fantastic through my older tube amps.... (I would however, kill to have a single coil between the hunbuckers and a 5-way switch... just a preference) Overall sound is rich and warm / med output.

Could not ask for more from a hand made Guitar... did need some set up though... (but I wouldn't expect the factory to know how to set it up the way I like it)...
The quality of materials is top notch (the maple top is at least and inch and 1/2 thick) The heal joint (or lack there of) is 1/2 the reason I bought this guitar...
*note: The fretboard was very dry and needed to be oiled (guitar honey)....

Built like a tank (and weighs as much as one)... I bought this to play not to collect dust ... it WILL be put to the test... but I'm sure it will hold up fine.

This is the second EVO I have purchased (I have a Phantom as well) The Phantom is a great rock guitar and so is the Deluxe, however the Deluxe has a few more possibilities tonaly. I would buy this again in a heartbeat if it were stolen or lost...... This guitar works for me, and I think they are a fantastic alternative to Gibson LP's, AND at a reasonable price (well under a grand!)... I would HIGHLY recommend this guitar. But this is just my opinion... check it out for yourself....
