Dean Guitars EVO MOP

Mine is a 2002 Mother of Pearl hour glass neck inlays. Two zebra Humbuckers, one tone , one volume.Made in Korea. Maple cap(Amber Flamed)w/wood binging on the body but no binding on the neck.The body is mahoganyand the neck also.

I had to pull the neck adjustment back and raise the bridge when I got it.I put 11's on it . The set up that was on it was so slinky that it lost tone from the wood. Once I got the strings a little more tight it reminded me of a Hollowbody P.R.S.kinda acoustic sounding
with the strings being bright and each one being individually noticable.The sustain was flat though. The tail piece behind the bridge was tighten down flat to the body. I raise the bar about 1/4inch up and tuned it . Great sustain.I played it through a 70's Fender Twin w/JBL's. The sound was VERY big but not farty big , good and powerfull big. Great guitar for the money!!!!!!!!!

The action on this guitar was very playable.But, with any guitar your going to pay for in this price range you get some finger soreness..I play very many notes in a very short period of time so, this may not be a problem for power cord players. The neck reminds of a late 50's Les paul. Kinda meaty but not so much that it would remind you of a pregnant womans ankle!Like a big slim taper neck.The quility on mine is great. A very pretty guitar.

I don't think anyone would have a hard time keeping this guitar working well in a live situation.The reason I picked the Dean over all others was it's ability to stay in tune . I would'nt have a problem useing it with out back up in a live situation. It;s a good one!!
I was also happy with the 3 way switch. I've found that most Korean made guitars have sloppy switch's. You won't find that here.

I have'nt had any dealings with Dean. This is my first one and I have'nt had any problems so far.
