Solid-body surf guitar with silver sparkle finish. The gold mother-of-toilet seat pickguard matches the headstock. Korean-made guitar with a body style similar to 60s Italian Galanti brand. Four red on-off switches control the moderate output vintage style single coil p-ups.
The rosewood fretboard on satin finish maple neck is more similar to a recent Ibanez than a vintage Jazzmaster/Jag. Medium jumbo, nicely dressed frets. Very nice Jazz/Jag style vintage trem. White pearloid tuner buttons. Not a guitar for a guy who doesn't want to talk to a dozen gearheads after a gig!

Sound : 10
It's a very smooth playing guitar suitable for fast clean pickers. Definitely a great guitar for someone who likes to plug into a cranked Twin Reverb. The pickups are quite microphonic. I don't mean this in a negative way. Most products that claim to be *vintage* sounding are nothing like old gear. This guitar has real vintage 60s tones. Certain combinations of the 4 p-ups are humcancelling. Lots of different sounds are right at your fingertips. All four p-ups on gives the guitar almost an acoustic feel. Just the bridge produces a nice stinging Tele tone. Not a guitar for the JCM/Triple Recto crowd.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The guitar was setup very nicely right from the store (and its a fine store, but they don't always setup new guitars). Action was a little low for my taste so I raised it a bit. Frets were flawless. Guitar has a finish crack near the neck pocket that I didn't notice when I bought it, but it's almost invisible due to the silver sparkle finish.

Reliability/Durability : 7
The pickup selector buttons have given me problems on stage. Right now this is definitely an at-home/studio guitar. Seems to need a little more attention and maintenance than most of my other guitars. I've had enough issues during gigs that I would never use it without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never have dealt with company

I've been playing since '84. I have about a dozen other guitars and this one is one of my favorites. Nothing else looks or sounds quite like it.

2005 Model. 4 Single Coil pickups. Jazzmaster/Jaguar styled tremolo. Silver Sparkle Finish with Gold Pickguard and Headstock.

Sound : 10
I use this guitar for instrumental surf music. The sounds are perfect - similar to the tones of a Jazzmaster with bridge and neck pickups engaged - that would be my favorite combo on a clean channel amp. Lots of sparkle on the clean channel. This guitar also handles distortion quite well and can do a raw rock or metal sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Nice finish - thick shiny gloss over intense silver sparkle point. All controls and pickups are solid. Everything is easily adjustable and were set up well upon receiving the guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Had it for 4-5 months and no problems thus far. Everything has held up well. No gigs with it yet, have not had this out of the house thus far.

Customer Support : 7
Have not really dealt with them much - sent an email recently about a part and never got a response. However posted questions on their web forum and got answers back eventually.

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing for 15 years. Have had Fenders, ESP, Gretsch, and Ibanez guitars. Gotta say, I love this guitar - I had been planning to buy one of these for some time and finally budged when I saw one for such a great price on ebay.

Finish is a nicely applied silver sparkle, deep clearcoat; looks like a Schwinn stingray bicycle seat. Jazz master-ish shaped body, not too heavy; probably alder. Beautiful tuno-o-matic type bridge with roller saddles. Vibrato tailpiece, fender jazz master type; but this one you can actually use without going out of tune!Tuners are no-name with pearloid knobs.Neck is maple- rosewood fingerboard, nicely done medium frets (22). The dull finish polyurethane on the back of the neck is great. Gig bag should have been included per Danguitars, didn't get one, no biggy. Brand new made in Korea. One volume, one tone control, but very cool individual pick-up selector switches, one for each of the four pickups. Very unique Mother Of Toilet Seat pickguard and head stock (yellow). I would have prefered an angled jack (strat type). Also the pictures I had seen of this guitar had chrome rings around the p/u selector switches, mine came with white plastic rings

Sound : 8
The sound of this guitar suits me fine. I bought it solely for the fact that this is the guitar that Los Straitjackets use and I figured I could get that sound with it. Well, through my '66 National twin this thing nails it! I'm still playing around with different sounds but if you want Jazzmaster on a budget, this is it. I have not (so far) been able to wring out any real heavy sounds (Black Sabbath, Metallica, etc.) out of this thing but then it doesn't have humbuckers, just four single coils. Surf, Country, Blues it does. Maybe with the right pedal it would be more versatile.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Came setup perfectly from Danguitars. I'm not sure if they set it up or it was done at the factory. Good action, no buzzing, pickups good height. The only flaw I could find is that the nut seems to be misaligned with the neck by just a hair. It doesn't affect playability and is hardly noticable.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Looks like it would hold up well to normal use. Hardware looks sturdy, although a fall on the tuners might crack or break one of the pearloid knobs. The clear coat looks very thick, should survive belt buckles and moderate abuse. I don't gig and if I did I would bring several guitars anyway.

Customer Support : 10
Haven't had to deal with DiPinto customer service, but they have an excellent reputation.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing off and on for 27 years and recently began acquiring more gear. Other guitars are MIK Squire Strat (POS!), no-name (Tiesco?) set-up for slide, Peavey Fury bass. As stated before, I bought this guitar because I love Los Straitjackets and I love the way it looks ( do I sound like a girl?) oh, well. It sounds as good as it looks, unique and very retro.
