This guitar was bought in 2002. I think its a 2000 or 2001 though. It is has 24 frets. Beautiful quilted blue top. Volume, tone and 3 selector switch. Two humbucking picups. Body is alder. Top and neck are maple. Fingerboard is rosewood. Has schaller style tuning pegs. Quite a wide and thin neck. No case. Great bird fret markets exactly copying a PRS. Set top neck.

Sound : 10
This is the rock machine I always wanted. It has the crisp definition that I have been struggling unsuccessfully to achieve for many years, particularly for open chords on the lower frets. I have 20 or so other guitars including all the standard stuff ie. gibson les paul, strat, prs. Nothing sounds as good as this guitar for a straight marshall rock sound. WOW!

Basically the guitar was in great shape right of the rack. The action is not the absolute lowest I have ever played but is fine. The pickups seem okay - no finish flaws etc. The guitar was sold by Retrotown in Ottawa and didn't come with any manual or other documents. It doesn't to even have a serial or model number on it. The guitar still looks great though and seems to be a fabulous copy of a PRS CE. I actually think the neck joint is better since the heel is easier to get your hands around. The Retrotown guys told me it was made by the same people that make Tokai. First time I've heard that.......

I've been playing 27 years and have owned or played many different types of guitar. This ranks as high or higher than any of them. I was skepticle at first about the rave reviews I was reading about these guitars. Not anymore.

I am still blown away by how great the guitar plays and sounds. At some point, the prices on these guitars are going to skyrocket since they are comparable in every way (better in some) to a PRS CE which is priced at seven times as much. CND $589 is about $360 US.

I heard PRS was considering a law suit because of how close a copy this is. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened since these guys have got to be eating PRS' lunch. Buy one quick.

This Dillion DLP500 is a Korean Paul Reed Smith copy of the 24 fret model. The Quilted Cherry Sunburst top and finish are outstanding. At age 55 and having played all types of music since 14 years, I do not normally take time to write about anything. I still have my 58 les Paul and fender strats and Ibanex units. When the Dillion came in, all I did was set the intonation and string height for my type of playing. I purchased this unit from Musicians Mate of Cary, North Carolina. This instrument,s Humbucker tone and playability are "Outstanding". The neck has the new Isis inlays. I had orginally ordered a different color, called up the service dept. and they did not hassle me. They got me the unit with the color , "Great Service"

The sound of the Humbuckers are very good. The bridge unit is full and the lead pickup is great for the Saturated tube. Smooth, not harsh. The only suggestion I would use coil tapped humbuckers and a switch to take advantage of single coil sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The book match was very good. the pickups were properly adjusted. the fit and finish was as good as any $2,000 guitar. The nut was cut right, the volume and tone controls were smooth and fast. No loose parts.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I have used this on inside gigs and outdoor Festivals with no problems.

Customer Support : 10
As i mention earlier, Mr. Dillion's customer support is second to none. The warranty is for one year.

I have been playing for 40 years. I use a fender strat, 58 gibson les paul, and is a sa ibanez. my amps are a fender twin, fender blues deville and a roland gr09 synth. I also use a digitech 2125 processor. If i lost this guitar, I would definitely buy another. The only modification I would make is a thinner neck. I happen to like thin necks. This guitar really is a great buy.
