Sound : 10
-Probably more aimed at the metal (euro-classical metal)/hard rock crowd, yet still classy, not too overdone. Extremely versatile, maybe a little too aggressive for the serious jazz/blues musician.
-Crate Blue voodoo 120 half-stack.
-No feedback whatsoever
-Can accomplish any sound, from fat clean to biting hard
-The only thing that I've noticed about sound is that it's sensitive to the gauge of string you use, for instance, if you want to play jazz, I'd put some 11's on because the 9's you use for metal or rock will just be wimpy up high.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
-The action is definitely the best aspect of this guitar. I have played MANY types of guitars, cheap/expensive, steal/classical, etc. This is the closest action I have EVER played on any guitar and not a single buzz anywhere. The guitar was set up perfectly.
-The only flaw on the entire guitar is that there is a slight dead spot in the neck on the G string at the 12th fret. Many handmade guitars tend to have deadspots in the neck, and this one isn't that bad, it will still sustain for abour 4 seconds before it's nothing but harmonics still ringing. Slight oxidation on bridge but I buffed it out to shiny perfection.

Reliability/Durability : 10
-This is a guitar I build to hold onto for the rest of my life, I've only owned it for 7 months, but it's withstood everything so far.
-The hardware seems very sturdy and constructed simply (no radical bends or curves to break or snag), no play anywhere to allow for breakage.
-The finish is as glossy as the day I bought it
-Strap buttons are sturdy
-I depend on it enough to tour with it without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
-I did not deal with Boris Dommenget Personally, in fact, it was built custom to someone else's specs who held onto it for years because he wanted it for himself. He found that he could order another so he sold it to me.
-Nothing has needed repair yet
-The dealer gave me a 1 year warrranty.

Overall Rating : 10
-I've been playing for 13 years, I also own a Dean MLX which is my workhorse and gigs where there's a good chance it can get messed up. It has also been the best bang for the buck.
-I wished I had asked to get a way to get in contact with Mr. Dommenget personally.
-If it were stolen or lost, I wouldn't be able to replace it, it's the only one like it.
-I love that I was lucky enough to own such a custom beauty, the action is by far its best feature, I dislike that deadspot on the G string, but everything else is perfect.
-I know this sounds arrogant, but I have yet to be able to even compare it to any other guitar. I suppose it would be comparable to a pre '95 PRS handmade upper model PRS (that's the only company that I know everyone knows about).
-I wish it came with a signature from Mr. Dommenget himself.

-There's a quote that the dealer of this guitar uses often, and I'd like for everyone else to hear it...

"For all you rock/alt rock Fender / Gibson / Epiphone / Marshall / PRS Nazis: You know you who you are? The people that think that these are the ONLY guitars you should play to be "cool"? Open your minds to the great new independent guitar builders? They care more about their craft than the ?bottom line? just like your ?favorite? bands did before they ?sold out??

I hear everybody complain about how mainstream music sucks and how we should always listen to the new bands and artists that radio won?t play?By this same logic, shouldn?t you play a great guitar that is NOT the run of the mill mainstream brand???

It is very likely that your favorite guitar companies HAVE ALREADY SOLD OUT!!!!"

Duke Seino, tone junkie
