It's maily described here under. Go on http://www.duesenberg.de <http://www.duesenberg.de/> for the characteristics. Mine is the two-burst one with the vibrato unit.

The pickup are strat-like pickup in a humbucking format. It's not as heavy as a Les Paul. It's thinner and the top is completely flat. 25,5 scale anyway and 12'' radius .

The multitone is the "tricky new stuff" on that guitar. This knob get a central position. On this central position the tone is at 10/10 and the 3 switch pickup give neck pickup, neck+bridge, bridge pickup.

If you turn the knob on the right of the middle point you are cutting down the treble like a normal master tone

If you turn the knob on the left of the middle point the tone remains at 10/10 and you dial progressively the middle pickup.

Honestly I don???t heard the progressive add it's just mainly nothing add and then the middle pickup arrive at the end. But OK.

So the 3 switch is now

Neck+middle,3 pickupss, middle+bridge.

Sound : 9
OK it's a strat in a flat les Paul shape body but the sound is mainly strat. Perhaps a fuller sound than a strat. What the guy below call an expensive strat but adjusting your amp can make the difference between the 2 dissapearing. But OK with the same parameters the V-caster get slighlty more "body" in the sound. So mainly a strat.

However, the bridge pickup is clearly less thin and harsh than on a strat, he get more body like on a good tellie. More of that, the master tone allow you the get a honky nasal sound at the bridge that is really cool.

More of that bridge+neck pickup is like the bridge+neck sound on a tellie but with a more airy sound, less thin.

So despite the fact that I can not get the middle pickup alone sound on that guitar, I found that the V-caster get some things more than a strat.

To resume I can say a mix of the strat and the telecaster sound. Volume and tone are quite progressive and the volume do not drop all your trebles when you roll down the knob. The duesenberg main skill is be efficient and pragmatic for the musician. Again, with the V-caster it's true.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
With a 10-50 duesenberg it's perfect, mine is a second hand nearly mint and this guitar feel really solid. I will perhaps switch to normal 10-46..Do not know yet.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Let's talk about this in 10 years

Great. The guy answer your questions and even suggests you some things regarding your reflexion for an upgrade or a config change.. Duesenberg is really a customer oriented company.

Overall Rating : 9
For the strat sound area with some quite cool add ons, with the second hand really low price, I can say that this guitar is a great value in its area. Try this guitar and compare it to a strat or a tellie. It can offer you an alternative or complete your strat or tellie. Personnaly, it's replacing my strat, completing my tellie, and give me something outside the strat and tellie world

It's the more versatile guitar that I ever play and I mean versatile with character not something completely lifeless that need 3 meters rack to come alive.

Plug it on a Fender tube amp, use the switch, the volume and the multitone and gets lots of great sounds. I was a bit stress as this guitar get no succes compare to the 49er ( I got this one too) and the staplayer TV but finally, I am convinced that this is a great guitar that is underappreciated.

So try it, make you own opinion.

It looks like a thin Paula with 3 Humbuckersize Single Coils.
Switchoptions like a Tele (3 way switch for Neck and bridge)
great is that you can dial in the middle pickup.

Sound : 9
Great elegant single coil sounds !
It can sound like a expensive strat and
also rather Tele-like.
This guitar is best suited for clean sounds.
Attention: never use high gain - the PU's only whistle.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
very good, but not perfect.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 8
I did not buy it because it can not even be used for my normal solo sounds.
If you only play clean or low gain blues and like single coil sounds
you will LOVE this guitar.

Solid-body, 21-fret beauty from Duesenberg. Made in Germany, built like a BMW. Solid alder body, solid maple neck and Indian rosewood fretboard. 25 1/2" fretboard. The V-Caster has 3 single-coil alnico pickups with a tri-tone potentiometer -- with the pot and pickup switch, you have an unbelievable number of sounds from smooth, dark to bright and twangy. My V-Caster has the blue sparkle finish and is flawless in design and assembly. And, this has an open back where you can see the springs (I have the tremolo). This is my 2nd Duesenberg, the first being a Starplayer TV. My Gibsons are gone...

The V-Caster has a shape similar to a Les Paul and about the same weight. Beyond that, there is NO comparison. Duesenberg shines above and beyond in quality and sound as compared to Gibson.

I ordered my V-Caster from Westwood Music in LA. Mark Bookin shipped it to me as quickly as possible, taking care of me both times (my Starplayer TV was from Westwood Music). It came with a ProTec case, which didn't thrill me as the Starplayer TV came with a beautiful, solid case by Dusenberg. Nathan Fawley, Duesenberg USA, told me the V-Casters would have cases available in the summer -- so I wait. I give my V-Caster a 9 because of the case. Other than that, it is perfect. Again.

Sound : 10
All I can say is WOW. The sounds range from dark to silky to bright. You don't experience any noise typical of a single-coil pickup. I've only played this on my clean channel, using a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe. Again, it is incredible in sound, presence and sustain.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
I couldn't find any flaws unless I had a microscope. The finish, binding -- everything -- are incredible. It's nice to see a quality guitar with attention to detail.

The action was set low, which is fine for me. I had some intonation problems on the 6th and 3rd strings, but that can be attibuted to the guitar being shipped from LA to Virginia. With a couple of small adjustments on the bridge, all was well.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I'm not a professional musician, but from seeing how solid the Duesenbergs are, I would say it could hold up to anything. You ought to see how the neck is mounted to the body -- it's solid as hell. Again, this is a top-notch guitar.

Customer Support : 9
I've spoken with Nathan Fawley at Duesenberg USA many times. He's always very helpful and cares very, very much about his customers and their experience with Duesenberg. I mentioned the intonation problems, and he readily offered for me to ship my guitar back and have it looked at. However, it was easy to adjust on my own. But that shows the level of commitment and support that Duesenberg is ready to provide.

Duesenberg is expanding across the US, and they're going to prove to be a winner.

Overall Rating : 9
I had two Gibson guitars (Les Paul Studio, Lucille) and now they're sold. I loved them, but in my opinion you can't compare the quality and sound to the Duesenberg line.

ALL of the Duesenbergs should have a hard-shelled case, period. I'll order one this summer, but the ProTec is fine for now. I'm very particular, and this sticks out.
