The sound is clean and bright...very acoustic as others have noted.
I play this guitar through a 60's Watkins/Wem club 15 valve combo (found discarded in a skip)...as you might imagine it suits this guitar very well indeed. Both from the same era.
You can coax a wide range of sounds from the guitar...jazzy, blues even rocky sounds if you wish.
I dont know if its the age of the guitar or the microphonic pups but it can be a little noisy at times.
Dunno but I just like the 60/70 vibe you get from this instument...so cool...
There is no way you could compare it to a Gibson...BUT ...it has a very unique sound all of its own.

This guitar was very nicely made in the Recannti factory in Italy
Here is a cataloge showing my guitar
http://www.fetishguitars.com/html/eko/catalogues/69/10.html
The action is great when set up properly...not so sure about the trem ?

After over 30 years the guitar is looking and sounding great...says it all really...a well constructed guitar.
I have only ever gigged it a couple of times...tend to use my strat for gigs.
Yeh you can depend on it...just be careful of that feedback..its a semi after all :)

Never ever dealt with Eko...the old Eko has gone..but a new Eko has been resurrected recently and they are making guitars again...

I have been playing a long time...over 30 years now..yikes :(
If stolen I would be heart broken...hard to replace...I do see the odd one for sale on fleabay..saw a Barracuda Supreme once...god I was sorley tempted...shame I am in the UK and it was in the US..otherwise I would have bid on it...

Italian, made around 1969, Dark natural finish. Bigsby like vibrato.
thinline hollowbody, two single coil pickups. I purchased it in 1972,
already used.

Very natural sound , almost acoustic.
Also sounds great without amplifying.
Good for almost anything that needs a clean sound.
On the contrary, a bad guitar for distorted sounds.
A little noisy , due to the single coil pickups.

This was my first electric guitar.
Now I own five electrics, among them two old Gibsons and a '58
Fender Stratocaster. However I still have my Barracuda VI in
great esteem ! and I really play it a lot.
It is difficult to see one for sale, but when something appears
once in a while it is really cheap in comparison with te features.
Witout doubt I would purchase again a guitar like this !

A semi-acustic mid 70's guitar, made in Italy. The shape is a normal semi-acustic shape!Mine is red with cream border. It has 3 controls (volume and pickup) and a 3way switch for the 2 single pickup.
The bridge is a very nice old style.

It sounds very good!It has a particular sound, very sweet with predominance of high tones. Very easy to play for blues, jazz and rock sound!I think it's a medium-high guitar with it's particularity!

A very nice guitar, very particular!Sweet sound, good for blues, jazz and rock!Easy and nice to play! The big advantage, I think, is the particularity of sound, quite diffrent from all the new gtr.
