mahogany body and neck, neck through, 24 frets, and a pair of emg 81's, thats almost everything you can ask for in a metal guitar. If it had a floyd rose i'd be even happier with the guitar, but what can you do
the main problem i have had was the setup. when i bought it it had a high fret, which caused insane amounts of buzz when i tuned to drop c
Sound
:10
for the sytle of music i play, this guitar can do it all, from sparkiling cleans to death metal, i have absolutly no complaints about the sound. the active emgs make this guitar great for leads and solos, as well as rythem style riffs.
my pedalboard is as follows
guitar -> Morley ProSeries PVO+ -> MXR KFK-1 -> Boss AC-3 -> Crybaby 535Q -> Boss DD-7 -> Boss NS-2 -> Engl Powerball w/Peavey 5150 cab
Action, Fit, & Finish

the setup from the factory was good for standard tuning, but when i tuned down, not so much. between that and the high fret, i'm gonna have to give this one a 7 because other than those problems, the rest of the guitar was great.
Reliability/Durability

as far as reliability/duribility goes, is the same as any other higher end instrument. It will last a lifetime if you take good care of it. i did replace the strap buttons with Schaler strap locks just to be sure, but it wasn't required. i wouldn't gig without a backup, only because i hate stopping halfway through a show to tune.

i've been playing for 2 1/2 years, and have owned a few guitars (Schecter, ESP, Ibanez) and i am overall pleased with this guitar.
if it were stolen, i don't think i would buy another because my playing style is better suited to a guitar with a trem. its a great guitar for metal, and i would recommend it to intermediate-pro players.

This guitar was new in the lineup for 2005 to celebrate the 35 year anniversary for ESP guitars. It is very similar to the ax350 but this guitar has set tru constuction and to me more sustain. Equppied with a pair of EMG 81 active pickups, tunomataic string thru body bridge, tirbal inlays,rosewood fingerboard, tuning compensated nut, mahogany body, white binding on neck, 24XJ frets, black paint finish, 25.5 scale length, 3 way toggele, 1 vol 1 tone control. It was built in Korea or Japan i am not sure. The only reason i give this is a 9 is because a floating tremeolo brigde would have made it the perfect guitar for me!
Sound

This guitar has the best sound for heavy music i have ever heard! I have played epiphones, ibanez etc. and this guitar somkes them. THe active pickups sound awesome for metal of all kinds, and have a really great sound for any kind of soloing aswell. They are on a whole prety loud pickups and are perfect for playing the music i am into which includes stuff like lamb of god, metallica, death metal etc. The clean sound is nice with chourus but is generaly not the feature of this guitars sound capabilities. I am running through a randall hi gain amp and the tones i can achieve blow me away.

The factory set up for this guitar was flawless i must say. It had perfect low action without string buzz and the ease of playability was incredible. There are only two things i found wrong with it however, firstly the bridge is held on only by the strings and secondly the paint finish was good, but chips off a little to easily and builds up grime to frequently, but nothing that can't be fixed.

This guitar has held up for the gigs i have played so far really well and is farely sturdy. The only complaint hear is the paint finish which you have to be a little careful of. I think i will have this guitar for another 15 or more years and it is really good quaility.

I have been playing for about 3 years now and this guitar i would recomend to anyone who wants to play hard and loud!! It sounds great, will last long and has everything i would like it to except a tremolo bridge which is just preference. I love its ease of playabilty and the overall quailty but i would have like more effort in the pain finish. When i was upgrading guitars it was a choice between this and a les paul and i chose this because it sounds much better. Overall great guiatr well worth the money. Plenty of bang for your buck.
