Sound : 10
With a EMG 60/81 & Baggs System, this guitar has a huge aray of sounds with only 3 knobs & 2 switches. The neck through construction Maple top & ebony board make for a bright set up. The Mahogany neck/body counters this, but the overall tone is bright clear & very quiet. The RPC boosts the highs & lows while dipping the mids. The BTC adjusts bass & teble. Mixing the EMG 60 with the baggs system is a clean tone to die for.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The fretwork was flawless. This guitar sets up with almost no relief. Action is very low with no buzzes. Nut is properly cut. The bindings are cleanly installed. The intonation was spot on. The figure on the top is eye popping, nice bookmatch. Even with a deep carve (muck deeper than a PRS or Les Paul) The figure doesnt wash out. PRS would call this a 15 top & charge $1,500 extra for it. Electronics work properly, no noise even when the treble control is maxed out.

Reliability/Durability : 9
A neck through with a volute should be very strong. The hardware is all brand name. EMGs & Baggs systems are very reliable as well. Never gig without a back up. Just dont expect to use it often.

ESP is very hit or miss personell wise. In the past I have hung up on a rude employee. This time it went well. Because a lot of custom features are on this guitar, I needed to dictate this order directly to ESP. I faxed them a list of features as well. My order was taken & a price was agreed to in 3 working days. It took one year to arive. They claim the Custom Shop is busy & is not a big operation. When it did arive, every detail was adhered to, some things were very cleverly carried out. This is a one of a kind instrument.Im a Luthier. If it breaks I'll fix it. Im not sure how long the warranty is.

Overall Rating : 9
I have about 60 high end lefty electrics. pretty much one of everything. ESP used to just sell bodies & necks. As a kid learning guitar construction, and being a lefty. ESP was always very good to me. I still have those guitars made with ESP parts. So Im kind of a ESP fan. I own a dozen ESP's
I threw the kitchen sink at this guitar & ESP made it work.
