This guitar was made in Japan, dont know the year of production,i bought it in '98 i assume Edwards guitars were (i dont think they're still produced anymore, replaced by the Ltd series??) made by ESP for
the Japan domestic market.
Anyway this guitar IS an ESP as the brand ESP is written on an inlay at the twelve fret,at the junction of the neck/body,on the headstock and it diplays the stylished E up the headstock.
The guitar has 24 frets, mine is a beautiful translucent/seethrough black model. There are two knobs controls, tone and volume, and a three way selector.Pickups are a set of two passive humbuckers,i think these are ESP 200 but i am not sure,i have tried to find infos about this guitar on the the net but couldn't find any as most pages are in japanese.
The body is made of maple,it is strat style. The bridge is a tune-o-matic,tuners are non locking Gotohs.
Finally the neck is thin and very fast, reminds me of Ibanezs..

I play blues, rock (i have an SG Std) and metal (here comes the ESP)
Being a lot into Deftones,Helmet that kind of aggro rock this guitar
is a wet dream (i wish i could afford a PRS by the way...) it gives me
the raw, powerful sound i crave for,i'm not sure about the origins of the pickups as i said previously but i can assure you they hold their
own really well compared to Duncans and DiMarzios,i once tried an US Horizon fitted with Duncans and honnestly couldnt tell the difference.
I use this guitar with a SansAmp GT2 preamp (best piece of gear in the universe) and i plug it into a Laney LC15 all tubes amp.It gives me all the sounds i love,i mainly use the bridge pickup with a lot of disto.I might be biased as the GT2 would make any piece of shit sounds
good, nevertheless i also play it a lot without amplification and i absolutely love the natural sound of this guitar, its a lot different from the SG whichs sounds almost like an accoustic when unplugged,it has a tight heavy on bass and mediums sound.
This guitar is definitely metal oriented but it is also versatile, you can practically venture into any style with it...
Action, Fit, & Finish

The guitar was set with a low action, which combined with a thin neck gives an astounding comfort of playing.Overall the setup was perfect at least for me.
Not any noticeable flaws.

I'm not friendly with my instruments,i'm not elegant in my playing,i'm more fighting the guitar than playing it,i strum hard i favor ultra thick picks and i play a lot,to sum up i'm the nightmare of every guitar :)
This guitar has survived me it can survive anything :)
It is totally dependable from my experience.

I have been playing for more than seven years i also own a Gibson SG Std,i love everything about this guitar i love it more than my trusty SG,would it be stolen i'd replace it with an "actual" Horizon.
