It has Emg active picks with a push pull coil Tap on tone control. It is equipped with the standard licensed Floyd Rose locking bridge. The bridge works but not as good as the original. The bolt on neck is made from maple and sports a rosewood 24 extra jumbo fretboard. It has the high fret wire that makes this guitar a metal machine. It has the Gothic style body and is heavy but comfortable. Something to look for is that the paint chips away very easy.

Sound : 6
Its a bright sounding guitar with some acoustic properties. It lacks good sustain but can be fixed by changing the tuners or the bridge. I mostly run this guitar straight into my half stack and it sizzles. The Emg's are hot and were made for ripping out some metal. You cant tell much difference then you slip the coils with the tab on distortion but through a clean channel you get about 15 Db boost.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
This thing sucked so much *** from the factory. The fourteenth fret buzzed and had to dress the whole fretboard. The Bridge was floating up off the body and out of intonation. I took it in to the shop and had a pro work on it for under 100 bucks.

Reliability/Durability : 6
When I first got this guitar is wasn't so reliable. It kept going out of tune and the bridge peeled up. I tried a few different things, I stop using the whammy bar and it helped. I finally just switched out the bridge with a original Floyd Rose and installed a trem setter. That did the job and she has not gave me problems since.

Customer Support : 9
I got a hold of them for the bridge spec's and the got back to me with in a day through email.

Overall Rating : 8
For the price you pay for this guitar kicks ***. Esp knows there **** and I recommend them highly. This guitar just need a little love that's all. All guitars need to be set up to your liking or they will never give what you want. If I had to do it all over again I would have picked it up for sure.

24 frets
volume,tone,3 way switch
2 emg passive pickups
floyd rose style tremolo
jumbo frets
hardshell case

Sound : 7
I only play metal so for any other style of music i couldnt tell you, but as far as for metal goes it is a decent sounding guitar. active pickups would defenetly sound better though.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
The action isnt low enough for my taste, but i play lead and i need a lower action than this guitar will provide straight from the factory.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Seems to be a fairly rugged and dependable guitar, the hardware is decent.

Customer Support : 1
Can not get replacement parts from them.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I've been playing for 10 years.
if the guitar was ever stolen i would probably buy another if i had the money.

I bought my F-200 about the summer '03 from musiciansfriend.
24 EXTRA JUMBO frets.
solid body
volume, toggle, tone(instead of afterburner, i dont know when they changed it, and according to the specs on the site they never did change it)
2 EMG-HZ4 passive humbuckers
Maple neck, Basswood body, very pretty rosewood fretboard.
Black finish.
Style.. well you would have to see it... kind of like a strat from hell with no pickguard, actually.
liscensed floyd rose, double locking.
Stock ESP tuners.
Very fast neck, paper thin like a jackson. Doesnt personally suit me.
cheap cable included. Bolt-on.

Two big beefs about the guitar.
theres a little thing on top(one person described as a 'tit') that sticks into your pelvic bone when playing live. Other people however have said it fits very well, so it may just be my way of holding it/standing.

The other bigger one is the EXTRA JUMBO frets. Its like running your hand up and down a cheese grator. I woulndt even consider tackeling an allman brothers cover with this guitar, it just wont happen.

Sound : 8
This guitar doesnt much suit my style. Its good for more metal and "screamo" sounds with decent distortion. My style is rock'n'roll and blues. Led Zeppelin, Cream, Eagles, ZZ top, too many more to name but thats a decent cross-section.

I use it with a Marshall AVT100 with the amp OD channels.

It's relitivly quiet, as to be expected with shielded humbuckers.

Rich/Full in the lower registers but it gets brighter and more hollow as it gets more into the treble. Great for distortion, and the clean actually sounds very nice with a little Marshall reverb.

The variety is decent. Ive been playing rock and blues for two years on it and its always sounded fine(since i upgraded from my marshall MG15CD and DS-1 at least) Good power chord drop D sound, i guess. Might not want to take it from me, because i really have no taste for that type of thing which makes it hard to judge.

Sound overall is good, unless you're trying to do a blues solo with multiple notes. That the EMG bar-magnet isnt made for this is the conclusion i have come to, so if you like solos that dont use knife-edge distortion you may not like this guitar, but if you're more into shredding this guitar could very well be your best friend.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Factory action was amazing. Floyd's are good for that.
Pickups were good, but it was a first guitar and i might not know the difference and i dont know how much they have been adjusted, to be honest.
Routing was good, wiring is very sturdy, one look at the controls and you can see they arent cheap with solder(coughmarshallfootpedals)

No flaws except the cover plate for the input jack isnt properly curved with the wood, which means that every half hour you have to tighten the nut or the cable wiggles. Not a big deal, lock-tight could fix it but i never got around to it.

The Knobs turn very well. Unlike some fenders i have played where the volume and tone controls only register in the 0-3, 7-10 areas the volume and tone gradually go up/down evenly across the dial.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This seems to be a very well made guitar. Its never given me any problems, except one, which was my fault. Ill explain.

I took out the bridge pickup.. curiosity/wanted to see if i could open it up to fool with it... well, the cover is glued to the coils, so no can do, and i dropped it on my kitchen floor(ugh...) cracked a tile(it was about to be replaced anyway) and now, my bridge pickups is a single-coil. I guess i broke one of the wires going in or ocmming out of the other coil. The sound on middle position is only the neck PU, but on bridge position it sounds like a(very quiet) tele with lipstick's on bridge. Almost a bit of a beatles sound, actually its kinda cool at times.

Other than that, the bolts on the nut-lock on the floyd rose seem to be stripping, but i took them off as i dont use the whammy bar anyway.

You may want to change the tuning heads, also.

The finish is decently tough. A few dings which stand out due to the very light wood against the black finish, but it seems very hard so i doubt it will soon wear through. And the area for buckle-rash is plastic to house the springs for the bridge anyway.

Strap buttons pretty solid. I never replaced them and actually had a few incidents with the rear strap lock... all in my room with carpet though.

I dont doubt that its a solid, reliable guitar. It's never done anything that i didnt do to it.

I doubt i would gig without a backup, i have played it live a few times with no backup, but i wouldnt chance it too many times, no matter how reliable it seems to be now.

Customer Support : No Opinion
% year warranty? Im not entirely sure. Iv never delt with the company, so i dont know, and i somehow doubt anything will go wrong in that period.

Overall Rating : 9
Im 17 and iv been playing about two and a half years, I own a Marshall AVT100 and a Takamine acoustic/electric, ESP viper 104 bass, and a Wine Red Gibson Les Paul Deluxe(best graduation gift ever.)

I wish i hadent gotten it on a whim and picked a different body style, but thats a preference issue.

Im in the process of selling this guitar, actually... Nothing against it, but i have an effin Gibson now. haha.

I hate the frets, too big. I like the agressive sharp sound it has though, it can cut damn good with a good distortion.

it was a first electric... got it online, didnt shop around.

Its what it is. I dont really like that though, so if i were to wish anything i would with it were something differnt.

And thats pretty much it.

The overall rating would be closer to an 8.5, but becasue its lower due to taste, Ill give it a 9.

Ok, Mine is a 2000 model made in Korea and it's color is Black Cherry. It has 24 Jumbo Frets with just a volume knob which I love because I never use the tone knob and three way toggle switch. It had EMG HZ's in it but after trying everything under the sun I finally came to the realization that these pickups suck. I installed a Gibson 496R(neck) and a Gibson 500T(bridge) and this guitar now sounds like a $1000 guitar. The body style is pretty cool I first saw it on line and didn't care for it but once I saw it at Mars I liked it much better. It also has the Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo which I had a problem with the strings popping out like I read someone else had. But all I did was add a spring which leveled the tremolo, problem solved. I've never had a problem with hearing the springs like I also read.

Sound : 10
I play classic rock, old school metal Ozzy, Priest, Maiden etc. and 80's metal Dokken, Skid Row, Bon Jovi etc. I play it through various stomp boxes, Boss SD-1, Cry Baby wah, EVH Phase 90, Boss DM-2 Delay and Boss CE-2 Chorus and into a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL. Ever since I installed those Gibson pickups it's a totally different guitar. I try for the Van Halen sound without trying to copy it exactly I like to add my on flavors. But this guitar sounds wickedly close to what you'll hear on Van Halen 1. The only thing I can say that I don't like about this guitar is the location of the volume knob. I would have put it closer to the pickups. When the whammy bar hangs down it lays right on top of it. The one thing that I love about the guitar that doesn't have to do with the sound or playability is the color. I don't know why the stopped using that color but it's a definite eye catcher. But I'm happy that I have a somewhat unique guitar because of it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Well, like I said above the finnish is awesome. The fit is nice too except when sitting and playing, that little tit on the top pokes in my chest. That just may be the way I play but I do notice it after awhile. I've set the action to my liking so I guess you can say it's my signature action.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've used this guitar at gigs and at practice and have never had any problems. However before I had the chance to play gigs with it the cord jack nut became lose and instead of me fixing it properly I just kept tightening it with my hand. after about 2 months of reaching down a tightening it I realized that I was doing more twisting then tightening and rip the wires off. But I just popped the back cover off re-soldiered it and haven't had a problem since. I would use it without a back up, but since it's a floating tremolo make sure the strings are fresh. You know what happens when you pop a string on a floating tremolo.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed them

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Over all I'll give it a 9 because I had to modify it a bit. But it's now a 10. I would definetly buy another if it where lost or stolen. They now make the F 250 which is basicly the same guitar only it has a set neck. I'm not sure if they still make the F 200? I would say no since they don't show it on the ESP web site.

Whats not to like

Sound : 10
I've been playing for almost a decade and have had alot of guitars along the way, but i've never had one like this. I use alot of distortion but occassionally go clean and either setting sounds perfect. No doubt absolute perfection

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Hmmmm difficult one to sum up. The trem is a little jerky but I hardly ever use it. As far as soloing goes its totally capable.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've had the guitar for about 2 years and its been more reliable then anything I've ever played. The strings fit in place perfectly the body doesnt pick up any scratches either. This things built like a brick shithouse.

I also own an ESP ex-102 but that doesnt even compare to the f-200. I had an EMG 81 and a 60 put on it and now it sounds even better than b4. I paid #700 for this baby then it got reduced but I dont give a shit. I would of paid a grand for it.

2002-2003? Made in Korea. Basswood body, gunmetal blue paint, original style double cutaway with great upper fret access, maple neck, unpainted neck,3x3 headstock painted, bolt on, rosewood fretboard, 24 jumbo frets, nice arrow head inlays, model name at 12th fret. Stock ESP tuners, licensed lo-pro Floyd Rose, stock EMG HZ4 pickups, stock with volume control, 3 way toggle, and EMG Afterburner (up to 20 db of gain). Came with 2 allen key wrenches, cheapo cable, and .009 gauge ghs strings.

A lot of these features are really nice, but some I would change and have. The liscensed Floyd Rose is horrible, some of the saddles, mainly the G through upper E strings, wont hold down the string real well and it pops out. I've never had anything but bad experiences with liscensed Floyds. I would try to get a real Floyd, but I'd have to have the body modded for it, and I'm not looking forward to it.

Sound : 9
I play a lot of styles of music, mainly older metal like Megadeth, Slayer, Metallica. At practice and gigs, it runs through a Morley Bad Horsie II, and straight into a Carvin MTS 3200 with Behringer cab. At home, I run it into the Morley, Zoom GFX8 and Digitech Metal Master.

This guitar, with my current pickup configuration, EMG 85 in bridge and EMG 60 in neck, it gives the guitar a lot of bite and bass. When I had the HZs and a Duncan in it, they sounded too brittle and trebbly with the basswood body, but the 85 and 60 fixed it a lot. I had it modded for two volumes, a tone, and the afterburner so I can dial in more sounds, and it helped a lot. Great cleans from both pick ups and brutal distortions also!

The only thing lacking is sustain. Between the bolt-on neck, basswood body, and floyd rose, there's isn't going to be much sustain. It sucks but you gotta expect that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action seemed fine out of the factor, but I took it to get set up for .010-.046 strings as soon as I got it, so I can't really comment on it. Now the action is nice and low, but buzzing in some areas, but that's probably from trying to dismantle the bridge to fit a different and changing gauges, tunings, ect. so it's my own fault.

There was a little finish problem on the lower horn, on top of it when i got it, the paint felt like it wasnt clear coated and it wiped off to the barewood. Also on the top of the headstock there is a chip that was there when I received, neither affect the performance but you gotta wonder about the factory assembly.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This is a pretty solid guitar. I've had it for over a year, never gigged but jammed with and used a lot, even struck by lightning and it still goes. I replaced the strap buttons with Dunlop strap locks, but the factory ones were pretty damn solid and reliable. I'd never gig without a backup, especially this damn Floyd Rose.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had problems, never dealt with them. Limited lifetime warranty.

Overall Rating : 8
I've playing about 3 years and owned 2 other guitars, this is one probably the best, except for the damn Floyd. I wish this thing wouldn't have a liscensed Floyd Rose and a better neck joint for more sustain.
I probably wouldn't buy this model again, well it's discontinued, but I'd love to buy the F-400, such a beauty.
Great medium thickness neck, I can't stand baseball bats(Gibson) or paper sheets (Ibanez).
Great buy for the price, but next time I'm gonna for something a bit nicer.

i have not had any problems with this guitar accept 1 but it was kinda my fault this guitar does not come with a lock nut on the inside of the imput it stops the wires from spining every time it got lose i tighted it from the outside so eventually the wires spun to much and broke inside(the guy at the shop told me this)u gotta tighten it from the inside...lazy bastards just couldnt put a lock nut thing in so i had to pay $20 to get it fixed but o well

Customer Support : 7
it has a 2 year warranty but when it broke with the wire thing i called they said it was ''wear and tear'' so i had to pay for it

No tone knob (not that I'd use it anyways), instad it has a signal boost- an afterburner I believe, which to my ears is only useable on a clean channel and thus all but useless to me. Jumbo frets are a matter of preference I suppose but I tend to like standard spacings better. Floyd Rose Bridge, Single Volume Knob, and Extended Two Octave Fret Board (Sweeeet!)

Sound : 8
I've read quite a few negative comments on the sound but I definitely have no complaints. This is my fifth guitar and I won't lie I was initially drawn in by the shape (which is wicked) but after two years of playing it, I find the tone hard to match. Note Definition is good, plenty of sustain and there's thickness to it with a brighter edge than I am used too.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I play more agressive stuff a la Deftones, Glassjaw, Rage, etc- and it has a nice tight feel to it that is good for punchy rhythmic stuff. People have posted complaints about twang but this is easily remedied by lowering the gauge of string you use. I have the titanium finish and it is beautiful, the body design is also quite attractive to my taste. My one complaint is the jumbo frets, which again is a point of preference- this may stem from the fact that I learned on an ibanez in standard spacing, but even after two years I'm not quite partial to it.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I beat the crap out of this guitar on stage and it always comes back for more. One posting cited how terribly unreliable it is but it sounds to me like his beef was more with the dealer (Tom Lees Vancouver, which incidentally enough is where i bought mine). This guitar is solid.

gunmetal blue, quality arrowhead inlays (rainbow colors up close), floyd rose trem, two emg hzs, goth sculpted body, afterburner...your typical package in the f-200 except for the afterburner, paid $270 musician's friend special (great deal)

Sound : 9
sound is excellent, great (passive) pickups, good harmonics...my only "complaint" here is that there doesn't seem to be much sound difference between the bridge and neck humbuckers...the afterburner (powerered with 9 volt battery) is a nice touch, and boosts the sound as you'd expect, especially on clean, but i don't use it much...prefer a pedal for that anyway

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
thin body style, not as this as an ibanez S guitar though...action is excellent...very fast fretboard, slim and narrow...knobs are very good, heavy-duty and knurled...black finish on the metal parts...tuners seem good, not excellent but good...very pretty headstock...a work of art, nice color (darker gunmetal blue) but i would have preferred black or titanium

Reliability/Durability : 9
haven't played it much...actually prefer my ol' 20 year young korean charvette for a slight advantage in playability! but make no mistake, this is a fine guitar for the price i paid
one possible durability issue: softer wood (basswood?) make this guitar a bit more dent-vulnerable than other guitars

Customer Support : No Opinion
haven't dealt with them, didn't need to yet

Overall Rating : 9
a very good guitar here, careful korean construction, parts fit very well, good tuners, excellent sound with the two emg humbuckers (see above for minor gripe), nice finish and excellent hardware, great action/ultra fast narrow neck (a bit narrower than the ibanez wizard neck!), the styling of this beauty is a unique work of art

F-200 Made in USA which is always a plus. 24 jumbo frets - I love the the longer neck. I like the options.
EMG HZ pickups - I like the sound of them. I was told an 81 and 85 would sound better on it though but I haven't had a complaint about the sound yet. Bolt on neck. Pull gain is a cool feature if your running direct into an amp. If your playing through a pedal or processor you can tell it's working 90% of the time. Volume and 3 way selector are standard. I've had problem with the bolt that holds them and I've had to tighten them up.
Floyd Rose... I not sure I like this feature. I love the sound of the floyd Rose but it's not stable. Like If I go to palm mute sounds shifts. I've learned how to get around that. Honestly I would mutch rather lose the floyd rose and get better pickups. That and changing the strings on floyd roses suck.
Comes standard with GHS Strings. I like GHS strings so no complaints. String lucks on the nut. I hated the locks to be honest. I didn't like not being able to drop D or from the standard tunners. I took the locks off.

Sound : 7
I have run this thing through a few amps. Marshall Mode 4, Pevey 5150, H&K Warp 7, H&K Duetone, Line 6 Spider 212, Create Blue Vodoo, Roland KC500 & 300, and Peavey KB100. I mostly play EMO/harder Nu metal stuff and this guitar delievers the goods if you play those styles. I have a Boss GT-6 and it screams through this pedal. I ran it through a digitech pedal but it's not as clean or as clear. This guitar is incredible noisy when you pull the pull gain. The sound is not as rich as I'd like it some times. I honestly don't like the floyd rose on it. It looks cool but for what I like it not needed. Don't get me wrong... I don't know how to use the floyd rose that well so I count as loss. I've let friends play on that know how to use it and the floyd rose draws a new life out of it that I don't have the skill yet to pull. I like the neck. It's great for playing stinkin fast leads. The overall body is nice. I've played in lots of gigs and get nothing but comments on the killer looks and sound. This creature sounds best through an H&K Doutone. I also like it sounds coming straight though a Roland KC500 Keyboard amp. It's very clean and percise. I didn't not like the lock string feature at all. I like control my tunners. I don't think it had anything against the guitar but it's feature I quickly disliked and disasembled.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Once again loved the 24 fret neck. I like options. Didn't care for floyd rose but that could change. Hate the lock nuts. When the lock nuts where on and lock it cause issues with the floyd rose and sounds shifting. Once removed didn't have any more problems with the floyed rose or sound shifting. Tuning is also easier with them off. I don't like changing the strings on a floyed rose. Call me stupid but I could care less for that aspect.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Reliablity is not an issue. I play at church all the time. This baby get's use in live performances 6-7 times a week and I've had no issues. This doesn't count the 2 hours practices everyday. It hold no problems with reliablity. Some of the nuts need tightening ocassionally. But you got to remember I'm putting lots of hours on this guitar a day. I've never need a back up. This supper guitar can take on any gig with out ever needing a sidekick back up.

Customer Support : 9
I contact customer support before and they were incrediably helpful. When I contacted them though it was for the f-205 bass counter part. Very reliable! Very friendly! They stand behind there product.

Overall Rating : 7
Playing 4 years now. This is my first electric so my review is not as good as someone who's own a few more guitars. If it was stolen or lost I'd would buy the f-100 or F-50 and then just change the pickups. Lock nuts and floyd rose I don't care for. If not those the F-300. I love the lock, weight, and feel of this guitar. It's killer fun to play. Plus I get a lot of remarks. I love the pickups, 24 fret neck, Solid Knob controls, and pull gain. I wish the picks were standard 81's or an 81 and 85. Other then that I love my F-200.

I finally got my active EMG-81 installed, way better than the orginal pickups, but this thing still sucks ass. Before I rip into this guitar let me say that my favorite guitars are all various ESP models so I HATE to have to rip this guitar apart, but I must be honest.
The guitar looks cool as shit finish is great but the thing sounds like ass. I mean I just spent 300.00 bucks on getting emg-81 installed and getting the hole thing setup by a Pro. And it still sucks. The sound is thin still doesnt have much gain, and is very brittle / twangy sounding. This is do to the floyd rose bridge I believe You can always hear the springs going TWANG. I had this thing setup by a pro and the springs just dominate the tone, clean and overdrive. I dont get it I have a esp ex-100 with the same pickups afterburner even the same wood basewood body & maple neck bolted on, And my ex-100 (explorer copy) just sounds so thick and so full of gain with the afterburner off! Not to mention the most important thing it sounds so WARM. My f-200 sounds so brittle and harsh, it sucks. Okay maybe it would sound okay if you used some digital pedal in which case you will never hear your guitar just digital processed shit. But if you play on high end gear ( mesa dual rectifier ) which will take the tone from your guitar and then fuck with it and not cover it up, this thing sucks.

But I think any cheap guitar with a floyd rose has the potential to sound like ass because of the spring noise problem. I talked to a guitar shop Pro guy and he says some of these cheap pieces hide the spring noise and some dont. Bottom line try one before you buy it because you Might find a good one. But be prepared to fork over big bucks for pickups because the stock ones suck. If I did it again I would not be such a cheap skate and buy the esp ec-1000 ( black one ) at 800.00 dollars that comes w/ emg-81's and a fixed bridge and a case & would have a better guitar for less money. I mean think about it 450.00 plus 300.00 pickups equals shitty guitar, sorry I mean 750.00 with no case.

If any one can tell me how tho solve this spring / tone problem please email me at KISTING@msn.com before I sell this beautifull piece of shit. No spam please!!

I just bought this guitar from musicians friend for $450.00, its got 24 frets 25.5" scale, licensed floyd rose tremlo, and (2) EMG HZ4 pickups, and a afterburner circuit.

I give it a "9" because it comes with the HZ pickups instead of the real ones.

Sound : 1
OK, it looks great but when I plug it into my MESA dual rectifier half stack, I was like where did all my gain go? (distortion for all of you non-tube amp guys) Normally I play on a ESP EX-100 with EMG-81
and this thing just kills. When I pugged in my F-200 it just plain sounded like ass, no output on the pickups at all. It did have alot of bass though a good dark sound. But there was no I was able to get any amount of gain with this thing, it sounded twangy when I hit power chords. These have to be the worst pickups I have ever played through except for the stock ones that came with my ESP EX-100.
The difference between these pickups and the real pickups is like night and day. And a bit of info for all the others that gave reviews on this thing, HZ4 pickups are not active, yeah the only thing that is active on this guitar is the afterburner circuit. Trust me I have Installed a EMG-81, a EMG-85, and a afterburner on my ESP EX-100.

Bottom line you need to get new pickups with this thing, because it has NO TONE with the pickups it comes with!!!!!

Oh yeah I play like the heavy music imaginable, so I need distortion, for those of you who like to play clean all the time may like this thing.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Fit And finish pretty good overall. Paint job was superb mine is evil black. But the fit was just good, there was a few rough spots on the neck, which kind of sucks.

Reliability/Durability : 9
You need a backup do to the floyd rose tremlo.
Like you already didn't know this.

Customer Support : 10
I hope I dont have to deal with them.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
I have been playing for quite a few years now, this thing sounds like ass with the pickups it has on it. It does look kick ass, handles very well playing standing up (it justs sits there sweet!) and it has a fast neck. I am sure once I install a pair of EMG-81 it will just burn the place down with searing gain (distortion) and sustain and most importantly TONE!

I give it a "8" because you need to install REAL EMG pickups in it to make it sound good.

This Is an ESP F-200 made in Japan don't know what year. 24 extra jumbo frets, 2 EMG HZ humbuckers, Floyd Rose Double Locking Trem System(I replaced mine with an original Floyd Rose, But the original is fine), 1 volume, 3 way toggle, EMG afterburner(Kicks Ass), basswood body, maple neck (bolt on), rose wood fretboard. I don't think I forgot anything.Oh yeah, a tone knob might be nice, but I never really use the ones on my Strat or Les Paul. All in all, great!

Sound : 10
First off...HOLY SHIT! This thing ROCKS!!! I play mostly every metal but Nu-Metal crap(Metallica, Pantera, Tool, Maiden, ect...), although in the past year I've been playing alot of blues rock(Clapron, Stevie Ray, Hendrix).I'm Playing through a Kustom 200W half stack(Soon to be Randall 200w) and a Marshall 15w combo. This guitar rocks for all styles of music. I've even rocked out a couple ballads on this! Very versatile. Effects-Cry baby, DOD Death Metal, Zoom 606,Ibanez Fat Cat, and a Boss acoustic simulator. Pickups, even though they are passive, are surprisingly high output. Screaming Harmononics, Crunchy, yet still melodic and full. Excellent.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Plain Black, Great body shape(kinda like a strat gone wrong). The action is super low and quick. The only minor problem is the input jack nut comes loose sometimes. A quick tightening and your good to go.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Never given me a problem. I've dropped this thing once or twice...solid as a rock. Not even a paint scratch!! I 've used thing on stage and there's never been any need for a backup(Not that I didn't bring one, cuz anything can happen).

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to deal with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for some years now, and I have found the guitar that i would make a signiture series out of(If I ever got famous enough). If this was ever stolen or lost, first I would cry, then beat the shit out of whoever took it. The thing that I love most about it is it's amazing versatility and tone. This is a guitarist's wet dream (joke).

I like to play heavy metal and hard rock with a bit of blues sprinkled in and this guitar kicks ass with the active emg hz pick-ups!
I use a peavy bandit 100 watt amp.
There is no hum from the guitar when it is turned on and you are not playing.

The action was set up perfectly when I recieved it. The action was nice and low prefect for shredding.

There was no flaws.

I would play live with it but if you break a string with the floyd rose it will take a little while to change. The hardware and finish seem built to last...no need for a pick-guard!

I've been playing for about 10 years.
If it were lost or stolen I would buy one again.
I love the body shape, it is very confortable to play. The 24 frets are easy to play and the floyd stays in tune when you dive-bomb. All in all I think every rock guitarist needs at least 1 F-200 in their collection.

OK, i've read some of the other reviews on this guitar, and they all dote on the fact that it looks sexy. it looks very sexy, which is what drew me to it. It's a basswood body, with a standard scale neck, rosewood fretboard, maple neck, and active EMG HZ humbuckers. It's got a EMG afterburner in place of the tone knob. This is a comfortable guitar to play, as a result of the positioning of the shape of the body. It has a Floyd Rose tremolo, and i've never experienced more of a pain in the ass. I'll explain later.

Sound : 9
I play metal and blues. This guitar, when it works, is a very nice guitar. I don't have a lot of money for effects, or largish amps, so i have a little piece-o-crap fender frontman at home, and for band practice i'm using a Peavey 212 something or other. I really only use clean, and distortion with it. I'm a meat and potatos kinda guy, so i don't like little frilly electronic techo puss effects. i also like to have tonal clarity, and this guitar, once again when it works, is the shit. I get a pretty average sound out of it, usually it's nice, but my acoustic Oscar Schmidt still kicks the shit out of it. The sound when compared to other electrics makes me happy i bought it, so it isn't a crap guitar.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 6
HA. see the next section for information on this.

Reliability/Durability : 2
My big huge huge complaint with it is the Floyd Rose tremolo system, and the neck. They say with the Floyd Rose it will stay in tune all the time, no matter what u do with it. This is Bullshit. My acoustic, and the Harmony i found in the alley stay in tune more consistantly than this. The Floyd Rose trem on this guitar is a cheaper version of the real thing, which is more expensive, but i don't like it any better. If i drop my D the rest has to be checked, because it will frequently change the tone due to the change in tension on the E string. If i lose a string while playing, i damn well have another guitar handy, because this will instantly detune completely, and i'll have to tune the rest of the guitar again. Tuning it normally is a pain in the ass, because i have to to have a allen wrench with me all the time. It's more hassle than it's worth. AND if i want thicker strings i need to take it in so that the trem tesion can be adjusted, so that the guitar doesn't fly apart. I kid you not, EVERYTHING gets shot to hell when i change the gauage of strings, the neck warps, the bridge i have found on some days to be at an almost 90 degree angle with the body, etc etc.

In any humidity the neck warps like nothing else. My buddy, and fellow guitarist in my band was over at my house jammin, and noticed how deep the tone was. And i had never noticed it being like that, so i look at the neck from the top, and i sez "Holy shit" i give him to look at it again, he sez "Holy shit, dude it's so warped u could shoot an arrow off that thing!" The neck and action always need to be adjusted, very frequently. Right now the neck is twisted. They did nothing right in terms of durability, i had to readjusted it for it to play right. Reliability with this guitar is a joke.

Customer Support : 10
They damn well better be stars in this catagory. Tom from ESP was very helpful, and said to ship it to them, and if they can't fix it, they'll replace it. It being the neck.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for three years, and as a result of this guitar, i cannot change the strings of any guitar without flinching. it is not healthy for you. it will blow them out as soon as u get em in. stringing is a major project, sometimes takin mor than an hour.

When i get it to work it is a kick ass guitar, and i can forgive myself for buying it, because it is really a nice guitar. U have to be prepared to pay for the guitar in stress, and pain, from string blowouts when it isn't adjusted properly. Get adjusted properly, and it will love you, but it is tempramental... Beware, u have to be ready to deal with the shit for it to sound good. I will repeat myself no more. I wish the neck weren't so funky, and if this were broken or stolen, i'd look for something else as good, or better, but if i couldn't find/afford anything else i'd buy a new one.

This is absolutely the most awesome guitar I have had the priveledge to play yet alone own. I actually have the FB-200 which is the baritone version and I have never seen for sale, I bought it used for 350, but retail it is 850, and list is like 1100, the controls are given (volume, afterburner(<--great for turning up a clean part or effect sound), 3-way selector
Pickup configuration is Dual Humbucks, both EMG HZs, they're the 75s I believe.
Body and neck woods are Basswood body, and maple neck
Finish is black, I would have prefered titanium but I got it used so whatever.
Body style is as ESPs website says-best described as broken glass.
Bridge style (Tune-O-Matic through body)
Gotoh tuners baby!
Neck/Scale is long for barintone, I believe it's 27 1/2

Sound : 10
This definately suits my style for looks and sound. It has the best tone I have ever heard, I would not trade it for the highest priced Gibson. It is never noisy and with the EMG humbuckers it always sounds like it has brand new crisp strings, it's truly amazing. Also great for overtones when you have the afterburner on. The only thing I wish it had would be a tone nob so I could pull some bassier less toned sounds out of it. (to tell you the truth sometimes it sounds too good for it's part, hehe)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I treat it very well so I don't know if the finish would flake off if thrown accross the stage or something, but it looks great, and hasn't chipped or anything and I gig with it all the time which means it still does get smacked a little.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would definately gig without a backup especially since it's baritone and I use 13-56 strings, so it's not like they're gunna break. It lasts no problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have no idea about customer support, I bought it used so it'd probly be hard to work with. But I KNOW that I'll never need it anyhow.

I play heavier music, and this guitar can definitely ROCK!!! From Tool to Korn to System of a Down and sounds crystal clear when you want it clean. Can even get good jazz and blues tones out of it.

I've played through many amps and it always sounds great.

Everything was set-up perfect. Love the design and feel.

I don't gig, so I'll leave this one blank. However, I have never had even the slightest bit of trouble using it at my house. I wouldn't have any worries at all if I decided to start gigging.

Never had any problems, so I wouldn't know.

I've been playing for about ten years. For the cost of this guitar, I gaurantee it's the best out there for light rock to hard rock to straight up metal.

If it were lost or stolen I would run out and get another one the very same day. (and if I ever found the person who stole it... wow, they'd be in a world of hurt!!)

this is a 2001 model, 24 frets dunno where it was made. probly taiwan or wherever all the big brands produce their budget products. controls are volume, 3 way pick up selector and a "afterburner."
the AB is battery powered and boosts the output signal by 30? 40? dB... i can't be bothered to look it up cos i dont even use it. i play mainly distorted or very clean so i dont find it useful. it is enough to dirty up a clean channel if u wanna do blues or clapton sort of stuff and are too pov for the right gear. i can't hear any difference with/without it when i am completely distorted.
the pickups are EMG-HZ. they are passive but i like that.. no batteries to mess aroudn with and i dont notice the diff tween active/inactive/tube/nontube yet.. i've only been playing 3 years.
i dunno what hte body is made of offhand.. look on the ESP site..
the body style is best described as "broken glass." curvy and a bit pointy/perky and VERY sexy :oP still very comfortable to play tho.
the bridge is a floyrose licensed one. double-lockingc etc. the neck is not as thin as say the ibanez's or jacksons. it is about halfway between the latter and my fender squier. thick enough for chording but also very agile for "shredding" and legato etc. anyone who plays this guitar without fail says "maaan... u got a nice guitar here!"
sum ppl might want a tone pot... i dont care really.. i luv the sound i have. and i just mess with amp/pedal settings a tiny bit if i need different. 8 cos most guitars have tone pot. if u dont care about that then 10. (and i dont care :)

Sound : 10
i play mainly metal/prog rock/rock. i can do metallica to dream theater to led zep to ummm i dont play much lighter than that haha.
it can sound like metallica - One of the interlude in Puppets. if u like that kind of clean then its perfect. if i use the neck pickup and fiddle with the afterburner i can do bluesy sounding stuff like clapton or SRV. but please dont buy this guitar for blues. its basically a rock->metal tool. i use this with a Hughes and Kettner 100 watt ATTAX series amp. on bridge pickup its great for shimmery/simple clean like One verses or any clean stuff in Dream Theater.middle pickup is ur general rock tone, like if ur gonna play GnR or ACDC or that kinda thing. and neck pickup is best for lead kinda sound. or for Obituary (if u know them) hehehe. all the PUs are great sounding. the bridge especially makes it very easy to do Zakk Wylde impersonations with easy artificial harmonics everywhere.
dont buy this guitar for pure blues, surfbilly, 60's rock, anything where the guitarist uses a Gibson.. better off with the real thing i guess. but if u like any 80's/90's rock/metal then this guitar is for u!

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
the guitar was set up in the shop. dunno how it came in the transport. u shouldnt expect guitars to survive transport tuning and all!! theres such things as humidity and temperature changing!!!
i havent needed to change the pickup heights. ppl say floydroses are bastards to use/tune but this is my first one and i had it tuned perfectly and staying that way within 2 hours of effort put in to learn how it worked - this is without any manual.

Reliability/Durability : 9
the hardware seems good.
strap buttons are solid, i'm gonna install locks tho just cos i don't wanna have anything happen to this.
i got the shits almighty cos i was playing this thing and i leant forward to type sumthing on the keyboard and it hit the front of the desk. i think i'm going to hell for all the expletives i shouted after that! but when i looked its only a minor minor dent in an edge. i guess thats what u get for a sharply shaped guitar. it's nothing u'd even ever see but i still got the shits cos this happened after i'd only owned it a month. apart from that this thing will hold up. i wouldnt play a gig with a FR bridge without a back up for any money tho.

Customer Support : No Opinion
never dealt with the company. the site is pretty good tho.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
i've been playing 3 years. i have a 100 watt Hughes and Kettner Tour Reverb, a Boss metalzone and Boss chorus ensemble (to give me an even sweeter clean tone). i also have a fender squier guitar which i played for 2 years previous to owning this. i've played other ESP's, ibanez's fenders, anything i could get my hands on.
i like the way this is a shred machine on the face of it but the neck is a bit more of an all-rounder.. i can do chords etc without it killing my hands like i've experienced on purely shred machines.
i wouldnt mind an Ibanez Sabre for pure shred one day tho hehe
maybe 7 string! Petrucci is getting to me lol.
i got the allen keys and a free (crappy) cable with this guitar.
this does everything i intend it to do. great stuff. and can't beat it for this price :)

Okay, from reading the rest of the reviews you should know by now what the specs are. I am writing this review basically to help those who can't go to a store and actually pick on up and look at the details (basically the color, because many people have had hard times choosing a color). But I'll go over the basics: rosewood fretboard, licensed Floyd Rose Bridge, arrowhead inlays, EMG HZ pickups, basswood body (nocely sculpted by the way), etc. etc. You can look at other reviews or at the ESP website for more info. I think I am the only reviewer who got the Titanium finish. Let me tell you it is nice, plus it actually looks somewhat like the picture of it! It is a little darker than the pictures, but it is very sparkly in my opinion and is probably the best finish ESP offers (other than the interface paint jobs of course!) Anyone who has the Gunmetal blue finish will tell you the picture of it on the website or any store is way off. It is very dark, I have seen it in real life. Looking up close you can definitely tell it is a dark blue, but if you are looking for a medium blue of even light blue look elsewhere. Black Cherry is actually like blood red, not bright red like some promo pictures. Midnight Purple is also very dark. Black Gold is very cool, but a little too dark for my taste. The inlays are awesome too. I thought they would be just plain white pearl, but they have that very cool varied color look in it (like abalone inlays, but not as colorful). The matching headstock is awesome too.

Sound : 9
This guitar was made for shredding, and if you play heavy stuff like me it'll suit your needs well. I will probably end up upgrading the pickups to 81s or something, but the stock pickups are one of the best stock ones I have ever played with (for my type of music). This guitar can do rhythms or leads, plus the Afterburner is great. Not too many complaints here.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I've been playing ESPs and LTDs for a couple years now so I am used to the factory set-up. Out of the box the action was super nice and I was flying across the frets. In case anyone wanted to know, I am pretty sure LTDs use GHS boomers for strings. Pickups were nice too, but like I said I wil probably change them, but that's just me. I've inspected the guitar, and there don't appear to be any craftmanship errors. The finish and inlays are incredible like I said. The knobs work well so far.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I am very careful with my guitats, so I can't really tell you anything about the durability. I've bumped it a few times, but it didn't do anything, so I guess I will just give it a 10.

Customer Support : 10
ESP is awesome and they have a life-long warranty. What more do you want?

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 7 years and I got this guitar because I knew I couldn't live without that crazy body. When it came I was even more surprised because everything was so flawless and nice. I have a Jackson soloist which I sold because I needed money at the time, a LTD M-300, and an Ibanez S-520. This is my favorite guitar ever, but partly because I just got it. But seriously this guitar is worth every penny and definitely shreds and rips.

Made last year in Korea I think. Two EMG HZ humbuckers, one volume knob, Basswood body, Floyd Rose copy w/locking tuners and jumbo frets(i think 24 but I'm not sure)

Sound : 10
I play Slayer, Nile, Deicide... lots of death metal, I also play stuff like Guns & Roses and Rush sometimes. This guitar is really good for all of these bands. It is espcially good for the death metal stuff but it can handle classic rock, 80's and other stuff really good too. I played this through a BOSS Metal Zone into a Crate GFX 30 and it sounded really good, I would imagine it would sound a lot better through a better amp but it is still awesome.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The set-up was good but since it came with 9's and I use 10's I took it to get set up for 10's right away. There were no flaws except for the 12th fret on the e string which doesn't ring clearly when you are not plugged into an amp. But I can over look that since it's not noticeable once you are playing through an amp. I'll still take off a pint for that though

Reliability/Durability : 10
I haven't used this live but I think it could stand live gigs. I put in strap locks right away so I don't know how good the original strap buttons were. I have had this for almost a year and has given me no problems at all.

This guitar was made last year in Korea. A twenty-four medium/jumbo fretter, with locking nut and Floyd Rose locking tremolo. There is just a volume knob, and the pickup select, there's also an Afterburner. Sounds spartan, but it really gets the job done! It comes with to EMG HZ-1s and man, are they awesome, the bridge one is great for burning, screaming leads, and the neck is good with a clean effect. The mid makes a great rhythm setting. Mellow warm tone on clean, but with really clean-cut highs, and it doesn't muddy the lows. These are passive electronics, but as stated, they are AWESOME! My finish is the gunmetal blue, but of course Musician's Friends made it look a lot lighter in the photo. But this one is cool, too. It has a basswood body, maple neck and I am not sure, but I think a rosewood fingerboard. It's broken glass body styling is great, immediate comfort, fits like a glove.

Sound : 9
I like to play a lot of Metallica, especially Kirk's stuff. This is the kind of guitar that you could play the intro to One or Fade to Black on, and then flip the pickup and do the leads with no problem. It has a little buzz, as normal, if in front of the the amp. My one gripe is the trem; it is fine for like two or three pushes, then you have to tighten the bar again or it swings around. You can also hear the springs on it on the clean channel every now and again. However, with a life-time warranty... I use a GX-130 Crate head, and Peavey Cab in conjuction with a Boss GT-3, with this combination, I can pretty much nail whatever I am after tone-wise. By itself, it has really good tone, warm, but good defined ranges. I really like it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action is great. Three people have asked where they can get one. Everyone who has played it loved the action, and the fit. The finish could be a bit more durable, but I'm a little too rough on my axes, too. I loved the pickups out of the box, though I backed 'em up a bit on the neck pickup. Other than the trem, it has been flawless, and I don't use the trem too much anyway.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar can take a beating, sadly enough I can verify this fact. It has really good hardware, the nut seems really solid, if that makes any sense. I put straplocks on, but the stock ones were good enough for casual playing, I guess. I would always recommend a backup, but I've done gigs with it only (not my preferance) and it performed terrifically, nothing but praise for it from me or the crowd.

I haven't dealt with them much, but come on, a life-time warranty right out of the box? That bodes well in my opinion. I have never had to get it repaired, my one gripe is the lack of ESP stores in my area, but there is one really good one, so I guess I'm OK.

I've been playing about 6 years. I have a Yamaha PR-630 keyboard, Roland KC-300 amp, Electrovoice mics, Peavey Predator turned baritone, Sigma acoustic and a no-name classical from Spain. This and the afore mentioned setup. I wish they had more finishing options, this thing would look awesome in natural satin finish. I would DEFINITELY buy this puppy again, I even liked the feel of it more than Paul Reed Smith's that I have played, it is my one guitar now! It is so playable! I practice on my spanish a lot, and when you get on this sucker, you burn. I compared it to Gibson, Epiphone, PRS, Yamaha, Peavey Wolfgang (almost similar feel),Fenders, and a couple smaller names. It beat 'em all for feel and value. I hope to get a custom guitar here in a bit, and I am ordering it from ESP. They're the best!

This guitar has only one volume knob, which i don't really care because i dont use tone or that shit and i dont think it really makes that much of a difference. It also has a floyd rose trem, its not an original, but theres really no difference. You can get it in black, gunmetal blue, purple(why?), and i think titanium. I got gunmetal blue. they used to have it in black cherry which i really wanted but they stopped making them once i got the money for it which really sucked. its a basswood body and im not positive but i think a maple neck. it also has two EMG HZ's

This guitar is great for anyone playing rock music to death metal. Its great for what i play: metallica, nirvana, godsmack. right now im using a marshall 80 watt amp and a dod effects pedal, and i can even get a nice jimi hendrix sounds goin too. the pickups to me are much quiter than any guitar ive played. i love the sound of this guitar and i dont think anyone out there wouldnt like it.

The color on this guitar looks great, its like really dark blue and looks black most of the time but to me if you look at it at a certain angle it looks green. the action is so awesome i can fly on this gutiar it makes playing other guitars seem like work. it has a hell of a cutaway so you can easily get into the upper 24 frets.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I think this guitar would be pretty reliable on the road but always have a backup because you never know. the hardware seems really durable and the finish seems to withstand bumps. the strap buttons might need replacing if you play really hard but otherwise they are ok. i would probably trust this guitar with my life. i love it.

i never really dealed with them but it has a lifetime warranty so thats cool. i dont know why they stopped making black cherry though.

This guitar was made in 2000 in Korea, although it was inspected in the US. It has 24 extra Jumbo frets and Is a Solis bass wood body guitar. It only has one knob (volume) which looks cool but sometimes can be a bother, but not really since the tone knob i dont use that much. It has 2 EMG HZ humbuckers Which are passive. They really crunch and give a very heavy sound. The body which i said is basswood. the neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard. It has an AWESOME shape for the body which is hard to describe. like broken glass. The bridge is a Floyd Rose liscense. It comes with LTD special sealed tuners, which are Really cool. hardware is all black. It came with cable whammy bar alan wrenches (the usual).

It suits my styles of music very well, i am a huge pumpkins fan and i also like death metal, and this thing covers all of my music needs, i can even get a jazzy blues classic feel, alternative rock, or an all out crunch. I use a fender champion 112 with it (the amp is OK.) The only thing that bothers me is that the pickups hum a little when using high gain and/or treble. It has a large range of sound. More of a full sound. it, like i said before has a big sound range, crunches, shreds, jazz sounds, mostly heavy distortion though. I love this guitar SO MUCH. I like pretty much everything about it.

This guitar has perfect action. The pickups were adjusted nicely. Everything was routed cleanley. Surprisingly, all of the frets and hardware were perfect there was not one flaw on this guitar, and it holds tune very very well, probably because of the locking nut. the pickup selector was quiet. I absolutely love the finish on this guitat, it is awesome. the color (gun metal blue) is so awesome, and the shape is very unique.

the guitar i think could withstand live playing everyhthing will last for a long time i can be sure of that, the finish is done very nicely, it is very scratch resistant, i havent made one pick scratch on it and iv'e plyed it for extended periods of time. The finish is very cool. The strap buttons seem pretty solid, i could depend on it. I would use a backup, however, because i am prone to accidents and i would not want to be left without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never dealt with the company, i doubt i will have to. It is a lifetime warranty so i don't think it could be any better.

Iv'e been playind for 2 years and i own a fender strat and the f-200. I like the F-200 way more. I would definitely replace it if it was stolen or lost. I don't really hate anything about it except that the humbuckers buzz a little. I love most of the features, but i wish it came with EMG 81's. I would like to finish by saying that I really love this guitar and will be using it for years.
