My guitar is a Midnight Purple F-207 most people think its black when they first see it, kinda looks like a dark plum purple with flakes in it when you look up close. Wicked body style looks freaking evil as hell! I always get compliments about how it looks and sounds and it has all out made me a better guitarist. The action is perfect for a baritone guitar and it plays nice with low tuneing. I knew I had found my axe soon as I layed my eyes on it. A black Floyd Rose bridge, with locking tuners... this guitar stays in tune even when heavily down tuned. I tune to GDGCFAD if you like drop D on a six string guitar and still like D standard tuneing, this guitar gives you both worlds but lower and deeper when tuned like this Drop G. 24 Fret neck with lightning bolt inlays. The neck is not to wide or to thin after I picked up this guitar and started playing it I fell in love with 7 strings and sold all my 6 strings. I even bought another 7 string for a back up and sold it because I never used it I played it maybe 3 times and sold it. When I bought this guitar I bought a Gator case to go with it, when the case got here after the guitar I found out the case was designed for a smaller bodied guitar and I couldn't use it. I bought this guitar around 2002 or so and it says it was made in Korea on the back of the neck. It has one volume knob and a 3-way selector a nice easy way to select tone and switch between the 2 EMG-HZ pickups. They are not active but they sound meaner than any non active pick up I have ever heard on a guitar and I play through a Randall RX120D half stack with a Boss Metal Zone and a Boss noise suppresor and I am pretty well set with it the combo sounds so pissed off I can't put the guitar down every time I plug in I am there for an hour or longer.

Sound : 9
The sound suits my style like a key in the right lock. I like to play death metal like SFU and Cannibal Corpse and I like Meshuggah alot I want to get my hands on a 8 string guitar some day. I make up alot of my own melodic speed riffs and I prolly would never have become where I am without this guitar. Amp:Randall RX120D with Boss pedals. No noise kinda noisy without the noise suppresor. Not bad though not bad at all. :)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The Action Factory setting is perfect for standard tuneing. Thats all I have to say about that I have tweaked my guitar to where I want it for how I have it tuned. The pickups are fine. I am not sure if I would go to the trouble of putting on the actives this thing sounds good the way it is, I would have to compare to one that has them to make the decision. Everything here is good for a 7 string I don't think it can get much better action. No factory flaws, it has a few paint chips now but the paint seems very durable even where its chipped. My plug in for my guitar cable needs to be adjusted kinda loose and noisy and choppy but what do you expect I have been playing thrash metal on this thing for almost half a decade now.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is highly durable. I came home late one night and found my guitar laying face down on the ground from its stand on a concrete floor. OH man was I ever torqued you wanna see a pissed off drunk metal head you woulda seen one if you were there. Anyways I picked it up and I was so releived to find only 2 minor chips in the paint and nothing more was wrong still in the back of my mind this bothers me knowing that it has fallen off its stand but oh well that happened months after I first purchased it and It is still delivering mind blowing performance years later!! I will prolly have to restore this guitar someday because I am never to part with it no money can buy this from me. So of course I could see having to replace parts but everything is holding up far better than I ever imagined. This guitar will have to be pryed from my cold dead decayed hands. I think I might be buried with it I aint kidding.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never nothing has really needed repairing that I cannot do myself. Don't know about a warranty or not. Never dealt with them.

Overall Rating : 10
I am going to be 25 in February 2007. I have been playing guitar since I was a freshman in High school. My dad asked me if I wanted a class ring or my first guitar. I chose my first guitar a p.o.s Bently practice amp combo kit. So about 11 years. I like Boss and Digitech and Randall products. Yeah I wish I would of asked if the guitar was gonna fit in the case the guy sold me with it! But oh well it looks good on the stand. I would prolly end up buying the Shecter Damien 7 if I ever lost this guitar somehow but I would not feel good until I got a true ESP F-207 replacement.

This is one of my all time fav axes. Year? had it over 4 years, Korea, 24 frets, EMG HZ 707 (passive)(you MUST replace these with REAL EMG 707's - active to bring it to life) Year? wood? Floyd Rose locking great tuners, ONLY drwback(maybe not.... no tone knob) this guitar is a beast in hibernation. replace the HZ's with 707's.

Sound : 10
This guitar is incredibly versitile. It might have 7 strings, but it IS a guitar. I string mine 9-46 + 56. I play mostly heavy melodic, but also a bit of everything- including blues. The original HZ's are VERY noisy, and only average at best for stock pups. Immediately replace these with EMG 707's (active) to see how this guitar REALLY sounds. Nice and bright slightly overdriven/strat sound at 5-10% vol, full on humbucker at 45%-70% searing humbucker @ 70%-85%, and well, true brutallity beyond that, and YET defined, NOT muddy, great lows (much better than ANY Ibanez). and STILL brilliance and LOTS of bite esp on little E!! overall a very balanced sound, with superb definition and clarity. oh, and active 707's are SILENT EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME< even when you do not touch your guitar at full stage volume, allowing better feedback and sustain and resonance unlike anything else. I play usually with LOTS of gain through all tube amps and various processors. There is NO buzz or hum below 94% vol, and so very little above that it's STILL less than the best passive pups. There's nothing i don't like about this guitar Perfect for metal & rock & blues. Not a country guitar though. I have a USA strat for that.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
I bought this at a local music store new. Factory strung with 10's. It was set up VERY WELL, but I like 9's 'cause I'm a shredder, so I had to adjust the truss rod (easy) and now have a lower/lighter action. Of course, readjust the intonation also. This guitar is crafted as well as my USA Strat. Nice/perfect fit on everything (on mine) Nice neck def not as thin as strat, but feels better than any other 7 I've ever played, or any of my friends ( I also own an Ibanez and played countless others) Mine has a Metallic midnight teal finish that looks so cool from 5 feet away it's gloss black up close it's metallic teal and under diff colored lights it's anything. great paint job, though, not as thick as USA strat.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I've played mine in countless shows over the last 4-5 years. never had a single problem. Do not lose the little string retainer bits from the saddles! Mine has been used a lot, many shows and practices, lots of banging and sweat. Could be resold on showroom floor er... except for indication of wear on the bridge posts(sweat eventually will start to wear the finish and cause corrosion even if you try to keep it clean)Specifically the top of the bridge posts where your hand is a lot, and the little string retainer bits need to be cleaned frequently. Mines broken in just like a perfect pair of jeans. I put strap locks on immediately, never a problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
have never dealt directly with ESP. Never needed the warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this guitar. the EMG active 707's make it's sound though. Do NOT get this guitar without planning on the 707's I paid $100 each. I got a great deal on this axe, and wow, they're getting harder to find!! now i just see the 6 string ones, again, with HZ's, tsk, tsk, tsk. I like this guitar just as much as my USA strat(customized by me), but fact is, this F-207 is more rare, more unique, more attention grabbing, quieter, more output, more range (7 strings) and more brutal. this guitar my friends and I call The Beast, intimidates other guitars sitting nearby, and they pee on themselves. If you play low tuned/metal/death/hardcore/grind.... don't get a baritone, don't get anything else. Just find an ESP LTD F-207 and get the active EMG 707's.

Features are described so many times ... I dont wanna say things twice.
It is just a metal guitar - nothing else. Sounds unbelieveable fat but you have to work with the pot.

Sound : 9
Is is so fat in distortion - if you have an amp which supports real fat sounds. Clean is very good. Add reverb or a bit of chorus and its perfect.
As I said its just made for metal and low end styles. Ive played so many guitars in order to find the right metal guitar and I cant understand how you can say that its to muddy. Even with my old marshall its very defined - even in treble and really fat low mids.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
A bit noisy with the emgs but go away from tubes, amps and computers and its great. Or you have to use a noisegat. ( Boss ns is very good )

Reliability/Durability : 10
no problems

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
Im playing it for 2 1/2 years. Its perfect for Metal. Dont complain about muddyness - its wrong what you say. Ist perfect for shredding and low chords. It presents a monster low end which you should use with an Engl Powerball or Rivera K100 amp but this will make your 4string-bassist out of work.
I play a style like Shadows Fall or Hetfield on And Justice ...
and to do it , its perfect.

same as below.

I don't think the volume knob is too far away from the bridge.. really no big deal ! But there isin't any tone knob (dont realy care) but just for that i'll give it a 9 !
And again, there isnt any better shape than the F series...

Sound : 7
Sooo after reading all the reviews on EMG 707 HZ, i thought oh no i'm gonna sound like shit ! But when i plugged my guitar for the first time i was like, wow ! for shitty passif P/U , these sound pretty good ! But, really, its not "the holy grail" . i was suprised , but then i switched to my ibanez with Active EMG 707 and thats the shit !
so, this guitar has to get new P/U to BE ABSOLUTELY PERFECT !!! with active EMG 707 , i will have the ultimate BEAST ! great for metal and etc...just a little upgrade

i'll give it a 7 with EMG 707 HZ

BUT i would give a 11 with active EMG 707 !!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
i bought this guitar used... paint is good , hardware too. nothing to say !
But i tune to "A" ,i put 13-62" and that works out great

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar will do it well live. I could depend on it, however its always good to have a back-up. i'm taking good care of this babe, full confidence

Customer Support : No Opinion

I'm very happy and would kill anybody that would even THINK of stealing it !! lol ! Can't wait for the next show, it's really a show guitar , great looks, impress your friends and girls !! good work ESP !

Korean made, 24 frets, one volume, one 3-way toggle, H/H config, EMG HZ passive pickups, basswood body, maple neck, metalic dark blue (looks black until you see the glints when you look at it from oblique angles), F-style body (looks great!), Floyd Rose licensed locking trem, jumbo frets, no accessories.

I wasn't impressed with the controls or their placement. The volume knob is too far from the bridge, INMO, and the toggle switch is practically useless (see below). The bridge is a pain in the ass when you're changing strings; however, I never had a single problem with it staying in tune. The pickups just plain suck.

Sound : 1
I play metal. Speed metal. I've played it for about 14 years now, and I am not happy with my sound on this guitar. I don't understand the other reviews that say this thing sounds good. I could never get rid of the friggin noise these EMG HZ's make. I've never had a guitar with this kind of noise...including the single coil pickups on my strat. On top of that, when you're playing, the sound is grainy and weak as hell. Sure there's plenty of bottom end, but the mids are so absent on it that you never get a full sound that makes big bass a pleasant experience. Instead, you get this thin sounding, muddy, grainy, shitty, soulless, dead sound...and don't even try to do any sweep picking. And when you go clean, be ready for an even worse experience. The low end completely dominates the sound and smothers your chords and picking. Paradoxically, when you're not plugged in, the guitar sounds pretty nice...lots of sustain and volume, but once you're amped up, no amount of tweeking will get you a decent clean tone. I'm sure most metalheads won't be too put out by this, but it's a cardinal sin to me. I honestly think that the better the clean tone, the better the tone will be with gobs of gain added to it. You can't disguise bad sound with amps and effects. Perhaps this guitar will sound better with different pickups..in fact I'd guarantee it, but I'd rather not replace the pickups on this particular guitar. Two reasons: 1) The neck is not fun or easy to play. Just go out and try an Ibanez 7-string neck, and you'll immediately know just how shitty the F-207 neck is. 2)The EMG's are so big, that the only thing you can replace them with is other EMG's...and since EMG did such a crap job with these, I'm not enthused about shelling out more hard-earned cash to EMG. Screw em...I'll play Dimarzio's instead...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
I bought this thing used, so the set-up was ok..had to do some minor stuff. I never found a good height for the pickups (see above) The paint job was a little sloppy, the neck had some sort of stain on it from the manufacturing process, the toggle switch was a flimsy piece of crap.

Reliability/Durability : 5
Never played it live...to be honest, I was embarrassed to play it for others...way too noisy, way too weak sounding...

The body seemed solid, the neck is a fat friggin tank.

The paint's a little delicate for my tastes.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never contacted ESP.

Overall Rating : 2
Overall, I would say this guitar is all flash and no fire. It looks great and sounds like shit.

Definitely try it before you buy it.

However, I do NOT recommend wasting your money on an F-207. Either get a high-end ESP, or go with a different brand. This thing is crap.

I was utterly impressed by this guitar from the very first moment I saw it in early 2000. Some sort of Batman's sculptured strat, this one was my first choice for an inexpensive 7 string guitar. It has, on principle, almost everything you might desire in a 7 strings guitar: exquisite resonant basswood body, rosewood fingerboard with attracting ?V? inlay, double locking tremolo, 24 frets within a fantastic access and awesome looks. The stock electronics (EMG Hz, passive) are marketed by ESP as the best choice for a seven stringer, since they capture that "elusive" bass spectrum with impeccable detail. Catchy phrase, but we?ll go back to that momentarily. Added to my modest collection during the first week of October, 2000 I started to experiment with it for a while ever since. This fantastic body design is also offered in a six-stringed version, the F 200, both of Korean make. Basic specs are as follows: Bolted on construction, wide basswood body, of beautiful ?Gothic? shape, hard unfigured maple neck and rosewood 24 XJ fret fingerboard with ?Arrowhead? inlays (with model id. inlayed at 12th. position), no binding. Hardware is simple yet contemporary: Enclosed unbranded machine heads, all black like the Floyd Rose Licensed 7 floating bridge (recessed). Pickups and electronics (probably the weakest point of this guitar) are composed by 2 EMG HZ-707 humbuckers, 3-position toggle switch and just 1 volume control. Standard colors offered for this guitar are black (dull), black cherry (too flashy), midnight purple (dull) and gunmetal blue (mine, highly recommended).

The strongest point of this guitar (Serial # E 023354) is the way it looks, sooooo Gothic and sexy, which is also functional, since its neck joint provides all access sleek, uncountoured comfort. Curvy and huge, this guitar will turn a few heads. The weakest point might be the F 207?s electronics, which left something to be desired (IMHO to most players) and place the guitar within the ?entry level? category, something that changes as soon as you change the pickups, since quality standards applied to both ESP and LTD guitars trend to vary between guitar MODELS and not by BRANDS, as strange as this might sound.

If you wan to check pictures of this guitar, or any other of my 70 guitars, get the full story at my homepage, http://electricguitar.50megs.com.

Sound : 6
Obviously everything under my own personal perspective, the tone and timbre of this guitar is reasonable, yet not professional. What you can and can?t do with this is crystal clear since the first strum, so your ears will easily lead you to the right choice, in particular if you?re looking for an inexpensive 7 strings with a devil-may-care attitude and looks.

This babe sounds a little too dark and twangy unplugged, and kind of unbalanced when you plug it in. The tones lack of harmonic contents, something I consider unforgivable, and the overall character of sound is dead. Some strings ?squash? others when playing chords and the lead character is, again IMHO, weak. With such characteristics, the neck pickup became, well? decorative, since there?s nothing to profit from up there. That outcome was indeed shocking for me, since I?m heavily accustomed to the sound of basswood bodies (my absolute prime tonewood of choice) and results had always been impeccable. But don?t panic, since all these unpleasant characteristics, I discovered later on, reside only in the pickups and are nothing that could not be fixed with an appropriate pickup lift. Many times object of nice reviews and awardee of top laurels, these passive EMG ?HZ 7? pickups are definitively not for me. They?re dark, messy, metallic, and lack definition, aside of being extremely neuter. On the other hand, if you want or need warmer, rounder tones, these might arguably suit your fancy, although I feel there?s plentiful of better alternatives in the market nowadays, such as Di Marzio (e.g. Blaze series), Seymour Duncan (e.g. Lucky 7) or even active, real EMGs.

Regardless of your playing style, you?ll surely find that this guitar provides monstrous (yet not aggressive) bottom end but neither midrange presence, nor treble definition. Disappointing for me. In spite of the aforementioned, the REAL beauty of this guitar is that, as soon as the stock nasty pickups are gone and something appropriate is installed (I tried with active EMGs in order to avoid unnecessary modifications and/or extra routing) you?ll have a great sounding axe, with gorgeous looks and plenty of features to profit from (remember? 24 frets, whammy bar, basswood body? unfortunately there?s no EMG ?Afterburner? here, since it has only made available for the 6 strings version of this guitar). Looks good and sounds good, but a few extra bucks should be available, since pickup change is almost mandatory.

For the record, I checked this babe out with several rigs, including a 1981 Marshall full stack, 1985 MOSFET, 1987 half stack and 25th anniversary full stack as well as through my trusty ADAs MP2 and MP1 (coupled with an ADA MicroTube 100) through Fender HMs (4x12), and Crate (2x10) cabinets ?mono and stereo-. Never recorded with this one, exception made by a couple of times with my 4 track tape personal studio for demos. Reasonable bang for the buck.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
This guitar is somewhat hard to play (it?s a 7 string after all), but keeping it up in shape is easy. No adjustments (neither relevant nor minor) were required in order to accommodate this guitar to my own personal playing style, being the neck perfectly aligned and balanced and the action conveniently low. OK at the time of purchase, nothing abnormal was to fix or adjust ever since (exception made by the already mentioned pickup change). Construction details are very reasonable (nothing too sloppy, nothing too great), and the fingerboard had no dead spots or buzzing all along.

Some minor comment should be posed here regarding the Floyd Rose licensed unit. I own several guitars with ?licensed? units, and this one is certainly not at the top of the quality slope. I do not want to be unfair with a 7 strings tremolo unit, considerable harder to manufacture and play than its 6 string counterpart, but don?t expect this to be parallel to, say, the Ibanez Lo Pro 7. If compared to the units on Ibanez or Earnie Ball 7 strings guitars, you?ll be deeply disappointed. If compared to the units on Dean and Fernandes 7 strings guitars, you?ll note almost no difference. The micro tuners are a pain to twist, the action feels numb and tension is extremely tight. Go figure. Notwithstanding, all these comment might be not duly appreciated by NU rock players (which usually use 7 string guitars with tremolo units on them, but never really use the tremolo, a la Munky or Dino Cazares) but for them I?ve got a valuable comment too: this axe stays in tune no matter what. BTW, I love the finish.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I always took good care of this guitar, and considering that came with an ESP hardshell case, I did profit from it ever since and expect a friend for life. All hardware is of standard quality and the black finishing should present problems to no one. Nitrocellulose ?sparkling? finish coating is correct (yet not pronounced), so this guitar may be deemed reliable and durable. I?m not sure about aftermarket bargains, since these guitars crave for crowd surfing and metal extravangaza, so only time will tell.

Customer Support : 10
Attention by the store (ESP representative) at the time of purchase was professional, informative, kind and quick. Never contacted the manufacturer regarding this particular instrument.

Overall Rating : 8
Mmmm? these pickups?. Fun & reliable, this might be the perfect choice to experiment with a 7 string guitar, always provided your budget is tight and looks are important to you. Otherwise, go get a Jem.

I've been playing for more than 20 years now, and own roughly 70 guitars, including this one. If you?re interested in pictures, original wiring diagrams, parts debriefing or just further details on this amazing babe, be welcomed to my homepage at HTTP://ELECTRICGUITAR.50MEGS.COM

7 string, 24 frets, floyd rose tremolo system, one volume knob, one tone knob, three way selector. Came with a hard case that I must say I was very disappointed with. The case looks as though it wasn't built for a 7 string, but for a 6 string. The 7 string fits inside ok, but the handle is bending and falling apart because it cant hold the weight of the guitar. It's like what would happen if you put an Explorer in a violin case. I had to glue and bolt the handle on to the case to make sure that it doesn't fall off anymore. I give the guitar a 9 for features, and the case a 2, so I'll say a 7 overall. The guitar gets a 9 instead of a 10 because there are so many cool things you can do if you have a separate volume knob for each pickup, this guitar doesn't have that however, and is very general in terms of features. I should also point out that I have the orginal version of the F-207 with the shark fin inlays, not the skull and crossbones.

Sound : 10
Well, it's a heavy metal guitar for sure. I have been able to get some really nice clean sounds out of it, but this isn't a Les Paul, it's made for distortion and lots of it. That being said, the guitar makes a sound with high gain that I absolutly love. It's not a very loud guitar, when you listen to it, you can tell that the stock pickups are definitly not active, and don't have extreme output. But contrary to what most people would think, I believe this makes for a perfect metal sound. Here's why: as far as I'm concerned, my loudness and gain are 95% attributed to the amp. I've played with active EMG 81's and 85's, and they are cool. But I'm sorry, those are not warm pickups. They add sustain and a little more gain, but you totally sacrifice the warmth of your sound and any chance for a nice sounding clean tone. I want my guitar to do it all, I'm not switching guitars on stage in the middle of a song to do a clean tone part. That's why this guitar is my best friend. I get nothing short of wicked distortion out of this guitar, with minimal noise, and a great clean tone. What else could you ask for? I play through a Randall warhead with a Boss SD-1 to add extra overdrive to the Warhead's gain. I love my tone! True, the Warhead is an expensive amp, but a lot of the warmth of the tone is from the guitar, and I can't imagine playing without it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I have had fewer problems with this guitar than any other I have ever owned. It gets a hell of a lot of use, and has a lot of stage time. So far, no problem. The action is easily adjustable, and I have mine very low. It buzz's a little bit because I have it so low, but very very little. Everything was in perfect working order when I got it, and all the adjustments and craftsmanship were pretty much flawless.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have the highest confidence in the reliability of this guitar. It has never gone out on me, I play it all the time and the finish looks brand new. There isn't even a scratch, and I've bumped it a few times. I wouldn't use it on stage without a backup simply because if a string breaks I don't want the show to be over. Always have another guitar laying around just in case.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I haven't dealt with them very much. I talked with them about one of my earler guitars (ESP M-100) and they were pretty cool.

Overall Rating : 10
There are guitars that you love, but replace. There are guitars that you hate and can't wait to get rid of. And then there are the guitars like BB King's Lucielle that turn into what feels like a friend. That's what this guitar is to me. I'll probably have it for the rest of my life. I'm not saying that I will never get another guitar, but I am saying that this one will always be around. I wouldn't sell it or get rid of it.
I also want to point out again that this is the first issue of the F-207. It does not have skull and crossbone inlays. I think my version of it is no longer available. Be warned, if I'm not mistaken the new version of it uses different woods in the fretboard and neck. If this is the case, beware, and dont apply my review. I played the newer version and it seemed a little more "mass production" style if catch my drift. I can't vouch for it's quality. But if you ever see the original version like I have, give it a try, it really is a wonderful guitar.

Sound : 9
The sound are great. they can be limiting if like to use the tone nob because there isnt one just 3 way togle and volume. I like this set up cause i can change the tone from my rp 2000 petalboard. The sustain is pitiful due to the floyd rose(more on this later)

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
I wish that i could use 8's but they break too often. 9's work great. i have spent many nights trying to tweek this guitar to play easyly like my gibson . the frets could be more acuratly leveled

Reliability/Durability : 5
well i have owned this guitar for almost exactly one year now. everything is still like new with one exception. the licenced floyd rose is already worn out. the two contact point were the tremelo meets the two bolt on the top of the guitar have been worn down and so the tremelo doest return back to the same pitch each time. I heard that this doesnt occur as much on the real floyd roses because of alteration they made to combat this problem.

I am going to contact esp about this. see what happens.

Many features everything everyone esle said about it!!The skull and crossbone inlays are sweet!

Sound : 9
I play mostly metal type stuff. This guitar is so great sounding both clean and very bassy with distortion. The pickups arent noisy at all. They are pretty good pickups but i am thinking of gettin maybe an SD distion or emg active ones.Sweet low sound with this seven string.Best sound i have heard out of any guitar i have played. There could be a little more high end with these pickups but it is still great.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
It came in perfect condition. It is so sweet. The plug jack was a little loose but no biggie.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Its so solid i dont need a back up but with the floyd rose trem u alwways need backup.

IDK its pry very good

This shredder is made in korea. I bought it band new from drum city guitarland (kudos to
them) via the internet. The colour is a gorgeous metal flake dark blue. it has 7 strings xj
frets floyd rose locking tremelo, one knob for volume , emg hz pickups and nice
arrowhead inlays. i bought it with the esp fb case for extra $90 us. the body style is a very
stunning modern pointy style (BC Rich eat you heart out) and is extremely comfortable
to play. The neck is flat and fast and took a couple of days to get used to.im used to a
strat and a gibson hollowbody. the 24 frets are very acsesable although if im playing the
top four i can only use two fingers. the pickups are really good. judging from the reviews
here i was expecting less but they are surprisingly versatile. the neck humbucker is fat
and mid heavy the bridge is quite thin and twangy great for focusing massive overdrive
and the coolest is the middle position which give a fender like funk squak. magnificent
clean sound with that position. Since the features are prety basic ( no tone contols ect.) it
gets a modest rating.

Wicked!!Since i live in a small town in canada there was no way i could test out this
guitar before buying it. But i was delightfully surprise and how good it does sound. I
thought it would be suited to the heavy music and fusion i play but it also works for blues
and jazz (althought the looks are far from that of a traditional jazz box)Because of the
floyd rose trem is seriosly lacks the sustain that my hard tail strat has but hey its a
tradeoff for sweet vibato and insane dive bombs

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10

This is where the guitar really shines. You have to look extremely close to find any flaw
in the worksmanship. the neck joint is solid along with every other fit. The only minute
flaw i found was some unsmooth(?) paint on the tip of the bottom horn. the wiring is
simple and solid.overall great. it came set up with light strings and the neck was setup
very straight. i imediatly put super light tops on and lowered the action then put some
releif in the neck to cure the buzzing. now this guitar plays like butter amd stays intune
even when i us the wammy bar.

Reliability/Durability : 10

I would definetly depend on this guitar to last a long time. playing a gig without a backup
guitar is stupid. Only time will tell if i can break stings on this guitar. if i did break one in
a live situation i would be out of tune and imediatly plugging in another guitar. exept for
problem of going out of tune if you break a string i would say this guitar is very reliable.

ESP drasticaly cut down their 7 string product line. including the F-207. I bought it from
Colerado some 4000 miles away from me. There are very few ESp dealers in canada. I
dont think anything will go wrong with this guitar that i or my luthier wouldnt be able to
figure out.

Overall Rating : 9
I payed alot for this guiatr and endured alot of hassle also. First ESP doesnt make them
anymore.Second there are none in canada that i could find. Three the on i first bought got
lost in the mail and it took nearly 6 months to get the insurance money. four the canadian
dollor is constantly become more worthless by the day so i pay exchange fed ex duty and
taxes. its a sweet guitar and the only one i would settle for so its woth it.

Since turning profesional 3 years ago i have been dreaming up what my ideal axe would
be. The F-207 is the start of it. Later on i will add the emg afterburner circut that is
featured on some 2001 model of ESP LTD's. Also i will add an on off button, coil tap,
midi pickup, A sustainer pickup, single coil pickup and a pieso, straplocks, planet wave
strap (so combfortable!)and then top it off with some ghost flames painted on it that will
mack my bands' uniform.

If this guitar was stolen i would hunt the theif down and impail him with it several times.
Pointy guitars arent just for looks.

Made in Korea, 2 EMG HZ, 3-way,passive,maple neck/rosewood fretboard,killer finish-I'd call mine a midnight/metallic teal

Sound : 6
The tone I get from it is great, lot's of lows & hi's, however, this is the noisiest guitar I've ever owned, one of the noisiest I've played- this is the only dissapointment- I'll have to do something about it- I love the axe- but it has been noisy in every application so far where my other 3 guitars are quiet- including a Charvel with HOT active electronics. I'd rather have less output than more noise.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
Mine came set up perfectly- very low action, but precise, no adjustment needed. I have yet to find even a microscopic flaw- it is a perfect fininsh. All hardware is also in perfect form, and perfectly installed.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar feels solid, I'm pretty abusive and require a durable axe.
The finish is flawless and I expect it will withstand normal wear & tear, even excessive- but not many out there will withstand ABUSE. Standard tiny strap buttons. I'd play it without a back up if strings were indestructable. I'm comfortable with the guitar itself not breaking down, but I know I will shred strings- they don't stand a chance!! I'll still have my trusty backups.

I'm 31 and have played guitar & piano since 1st grade- that's 25 years. I've had many other guitars, but only 4 total now. My other fav axe is a Charvel. My fav amp for the last 5 years has been a Peavy Ultra 120(I have 2 of 'em) and 2 4x12 cabs. I've experimented with lots of effects, and right now am using a Korg Toneworks Pandora PX3, really as nitrous for the Ultra 120. It's a killer combo. This F-207 looks awesome, feels awesome, plays awesome- I'd have to get another if this one were removed from my posession. My only gripe is that it's very noisy, I intend on finding a resolution- replacing pickups?

this is an awsome guitar too bad they stopped making them. The emg pickups are great and the floyd rose is sweet too. I jam to this guitar all the time and I'm glad i bought it. the only thing I don't like is that it only has a volume and you can't change the sound a whole lot but other than that it looks sweet and sounds bad ass.

Sound : 10
I personally play a lot of metallica deftones pantera and on occasion some stevie ray vaughan. If your wondering yes it pulls off some pretty good blues not as well as say a fender strat but still it works

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
I havn't found any flaws in my guitar yet.

I think it will withstand live shows. The finish is nice and should hold up. I would depend on it if i did a gig with it but as of now I havn't had a gig.

well I havn't had to call them but it has a ten year warranty I believe

I am completly satisfied with this guitar and I would buy another one if it was stolen. If you get this guitar your friends will first say wow that looks bad ass and then when you play on it if your any good they will say that it sounds bad ass too

Proceed down the screen to view details on the features. Nothing overly incredible, which explains the rating of 7. Don't get me wrong, it's got great features; there's just not the "tons of features" that give it a ten.

Sound : 8
The pickups are some of the better ones I've heard in a seven-string guitar... they seem to feedback a little quicker than some of the pickups I've got in my other 6-stringers, but they're not bad. Lots of string buzz because of the low tuning of the 7th string. More of a full sound than a bright sound, again, because of the deep tuning. It's got quite a bit of variety -- more than you'd expect from a guitar of this price range. A little muddy on the very low palm-muted stuff, but a good amp covers for that a bit.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I bought the guitar used, so I can't comment on the action or adjustments fairly. The finish looks great, and I couldn't find any major (or even fairly minor) flaws in it. It's not as thick as I'd like; part of the clear coat and top layer of black paint chipped on a metal rung of a guitar stand at a show. This is the first time it's happened, and I've used that stand many times, so I can only assume the paint is a tad bit thinner than most of my others.

Reliability/Durability : 8
The guitar will withstand live shows -- it's shown me that already. It's an excellent drop-the-strap-and-play-it-low guitar... a great one for those jumpy songs (for the not-so-jumpy, check out my review of the Gibson Gothic Explorer). It's quite dependable, and I haven't had any serious problems with it at gigs, other than the usual string breakage (which sucks on a guitar with a Floyd-type floating bridge; it holds up better than a Kahler, but you're still screwed if one breaks... completely out of tune). You NEVER play a show without a backup guitar. EVER.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never.

Overall Rating : 8
I've been playing for several years, and own quite a few other pieces of equipment (too much to reasonably list here, anyway). The basis behind the rig, however, is guitar -> ART Xtreme distortion -> Randall heads, Marshall/Peavey cabs. The ported Peavey cabs (no longer in production; they're about four and a half feet tall and 140 pounds, literally) allow the speakers to "breathe" when muting the low 7th string notes. I played the guitar thoroughly before purchase, so I can't say I'm disappointed with anything. I could care less for the huge inlay, but that's purely cosmetic. It's a great choice if you're looking for an entry-level 7-string that will cut above most of the Ibanez lineup (read: ALL the Ibanez lineup) for anywhere near the price. It's the only guitar that I have -- and this will sound bad -- that I don't feel bad jumping around on stage and otherwise beating the hell out of. Not because it's a sucky guitar, but because it weighs the perfect weight and is the seemingly perfect size for the task. I'm not concerned about it breaking, and I've got straplocks on it to avoid the inevitable. Weight is a major factor in a guitar purchase, and this one is a featherweight. If you think it's heavy, grab an Acrylic Warlock and play it for a set, and I can personally guarantee you'll be hurting by the end unless you stand perfectly still.

Oh yeah, and if it were stolen, I'd get my money from the insurance company, buy another, and wish the culprit farewell.

Made in 2000, in Korea. Features 24 frets, solid top, 3-way toggle switch, and two EMG-HZ707 humbuckers. Althought these aren't the active ones, they do have a great sound to them. It only has one volume knob though, so you don't have much of variety with sound, but it suits my heavy needs. The body is made of basswood, and the neck is made of maple. The neck has a great smooth feel to it, much like all expensive ESP guitars. It has a really Gothic style to it. It comes with a locking Floyd Rose trem. It also features arrow-head inlays on the rosewood fretboard. It comes with a hardshell case too.
It also features a sculpted heel that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand to efforlessly hit the very last fret, even on the A string, or E string if you have killer dexterity.

Sound : 8
Like I said before, it suits my style very well. I play in a band but we don't play for crowds yet. It a fairly quiet guitar, but it could be better. You will have to do some adjusting with your EQ though. It has a really fat sound, but if you were to put in the active EMG707s it would sound bad ass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
This guitar was setup great extremely low action, perfectly macthing the neck for fast as hell playing. It didn't contain any flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Yes, I believe this guitar can definatly handle live playing.
The hardware is great, and will last. The finish is good too. The strap buttons are okay, but always add strap-locks, because you never know what might happen. I still probably wouldn't use it without a back up though, becuase, changing the strings on a Floyd Rose is a Bitch.

Overall this guitar is a great investment, but I'm not going to bash Ibanez or B.C. Rich, because I've played those too, and they are just like this guitar. If it were stolen, I would try to get this agian, or see if I could get it in a hardtail. I've been playing for about 2 years, and I really choose this one, because it looks cool as hell, and it has EMG pickups in it. But it beats the hell out of my Strat.

Great design and pickups that give killer tone. Heavy as hell. Good floyd rose.

This thing is great. Slightly noisy through the gainiac but I also have it next to tons of electronics and you'd expect noise. Besides I have hush rack that cleans it up nicely. after running it through the gainiac and an aural exciter this thing makes that heavy sound cut like a knife. The Hz pickups are great.

Definetaly plays a little better than my schecter and it feels good. Like the other submission said the paint is badass compared to the website pic. Mine is super dark blue and it looks so cool.

This is the 200 model of the 7-string F-207, not sure of where it was made. It comes with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard on a mable neck. Made of basswood the body seems rather light but so far hasn't dented. It oly comes with a 3-way selector for the two emg hz-707 pick-ups and a single knob for volume control. This is one wicked looking guitar with it's "broken glass" style and the dark metallic purple finish (the pictures on ESP's website does no justice). A floyd rose trem system and black hardware round out this axe

Sound : 9
I play a mix of Alternitive and metal with a hint of punk. This guitar really suits this style and I think that It would be good for blues with the deep lows from the neck humbucker. The pick-ups are passive and would definatly be better active, but I still can't complain. I've heard people say that the are loud, and must say that I think they are the quites pick-ups I've played with. I do pick up a lot of noise when I'm near my computer monitor but I just move a couple of feet away and it disapears.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The action on this thing is unbelievable. It begs for you to rip into it then asks for more. And the finish is awsome. One of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. Quality craftsmanship as well, the inlays on the neck are well setted and seem to really flow with the neck. All that comes to mind is WOW!

Reliability/Durability : 9
I've had it for about a mounth now and it has been banged a few times, but you can't tell. Like I said It seems solid and I would use it with-out a back-up (already have).

Haven't delt with ESP yet but the fact that there is a life-time warrenty on the thing make you feel a little warm inside.

I've been playing for about six years on many differnt axes from fender to ibanez, and this is the best "stock" guitar yet. If it were stolen I would break the arms of that person...yes I would buy another. If it came with active picp-ups it would be the cat's ass, but that's the only real thing that I can say... This is a great guitar.
