ESP Skulls & Snakes from 2003. Features a Screamin' Demon in the bridge, and a SH100 in the neck position. Neck is nice, thin and feels good. Original Floyd was set to float (cricket style). Push/pull volume - pick-up selector. The frets seem high. I kind of like that as a change from my strat necks. Of course this guitar features the graphic from John Dismukes drawing also used on Lynch Mobs first record.

This is a metal guitar. I use this guitar with a Soldano and 2 Soldano 4X12's. To me, the resonance of the guitar is pretty good. The neck and bridge pickups work well together. Bridge pickup is too hot for total clean sound so you better pull up the SH100!

The body is smaller and thinner than the Kami and Tiger models. This is not a really a plus for me. The body is almost the size of a Jackson Dinky. I like the wood, and I like the overall tone, although some might think it's too brite for newer metal sounds.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The action was a little low for me at first. It does buzz still. The pickups outputs are matched well. Switching between them doesn't change the volume much.

The graphic does look kind of "Silk Screened" up close. The wood on the neck is also not the prettiest piece of wood I've ever seen, but doesn't affect the playability.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This seems durable. I like the original Floyd Rose. The parts of this guitar are pro quality but, I would never play a gig without a backup or 3.

Never had a problem with this guitar. ESP will take care of you. You might have to keep on them, but they will take care of you. Remember, they aren't Fender or Gibson. They have a smaller staff than those companies, and you have to be patient with them.

I've been playing for about 20 big ones. I knew what I was getting with this guitar. I'm happy with it, but it's not a "swiss army knife guitar" for me. I use it for metal. I might buy one again, but I like the larger bodies ESP carries. This guitar however, eats any Jackson made after 1989. I wouldn't mind the headstock looking more strat like. I think a maple neck/fingerboard would also be cool.

This is a George Lynch Skulls and sankes not sure of the year. It has 22 frets, reverse headstock, Skull & sword inlays... This guitar was built in Japan, just like all my other ESP's. The body is alder which has a very warm sound. Rosewood fretboard. One volume, which also acts as a switch between the neck and bridge pickups. It has a George Lynch Screaming Deamon in the bridge and duncan Single coil in the neck. The finish is gloss black with the skulls and snakes paint job on the body. The body style is much like that of a Kamikazee. Has an original Floyd Rose Locking tremolo. Non locking tuners. Jumbo frets. And a hard shell case.

The sounds of the George Lynch is straight forward ROCK AND ROLL... Nothing wimpy about this guitar. I running it through a Rocktron Piranha preamp and A Mesa-Boogie 2:90 Power amp. The neck picup is of course noisy, being it is a single coil. Which I plan to change to a Diamarzio Pro Track. The sound is very full, bright at times.
This guitar is a real attention getter. Not for the faint hearted. Don't think I would use this guitar in a country bar...
I've always like ESP george lynch guitars. I own several ESP's and love them all. Some people complain about the size of the necks on these. But I like a bigger neck. I've found I can play longer with less fatigue on a fatter neck...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
When I received this guitar the action was a little low for my taste. (Never thought I would ever say that) But I adjusted the neck becasue the strings where buzzing. Raised the action and Yee! Haa! The bridge pickup was a little bit too close. The guitar was in perfect shape when I received it.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This guitar is built for live situation. Straight forward Rock-N-Roll. I know I can depend on this guitar... I would never play a gig without a back-up of course I always use four or five guitars in a show...

Customer Support : 7
Never dealt with ESP tried to get a endorsement once they where Assholes about that... Never had any trouble out of there gear.

I've been playing for 23 years. Own 22 guitars now (ESP's, Fender's, Gibson's, Shadow, Ibanez, Peavey etc...) If this guitar was stolen I might buy another to replace it... I love the way this guitar looks.

The guitar was built this year in Japan. It has 22 frets on a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The body is alder, with one passive humbucker (SD Screamin' Demon) and one passive humbucking single coil (think it may be a SD Hot Rail). The finish is wild... think the Wicked Sensation album cover on a black body with a clearcoat over it. The inlays are an outline of the skull & crossed swords until the 12 fret, then it becomes just the outline of the crossed swords. Wild-looking guitar. Like all two-pickup Lynch ESP's, it has one volume which also functions as a pull/push pot to select pickups.

It has an original Floyd Rose and non-locking tuners. I think these are Dunlop 6100's. I have them on an Ibanez JPM and they feel similar. The neck is very Strat-like and has a Strat scale, but has less radius. This guitar is like a combination between my Kamikaze and my M1 Tiger. It has a neck like the Tiger and the body contour like the Kamikaze. It comes with the standard ESP hardshell case.

Sound : 8
This is now my favorite of the Lynch ESP's I own. The rest are all maple, but I prefer the alder body when using the Screamin' Demon. The sound is much less harsh. It's not noisy at all. I'm using a 5150 head and cabinet and various Boss pedals. See my other George Lynch ESP reviews for an idea of the sound. This guitar is much less harsh because of the alder body. Also, I prefer Ernie Ball Rock & Roll strings because the wound strings sound warmer when new and I like the sound of the pick attack on the unwound strings. The Demon sounds better in this guitar than my other ESP's, my M1 Tiger being a very close second.

I *swear* the front pickup is a Duncan Hot Rail. It looks and sounds just like one, however it has ESP written on the top of the pickup. Is this thing actually a Hot Rail? I wish someone has a definitive answer. I like the sound, however I still think the best neck pickup out there is the DiMarzio Air Norton. This pickup could actually use a bit more clarity.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The guitar was a mess from the factory. All my ESP's have come from the factory with major buzz between the nut and the 6-7 th frets. Fortunately, you can adjust the truss rod without removing the neck... unlike my other three Lynch ESP's. A quarter turn counter-clockwise was all she needed. The action was very comfortable. I think my picking hand just may be a little funky the last few days because all my guitars have seemed harder to play. Regardless, the neck had zero relief, so I took off three points. Everything else was perfect... finish, etcetera. The bridge pickup was a touch too high, also... no big deal.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I'm sure the thing will wear well, but I'd never play without a backup. I don't have any concerns about the hardware, either. I've owned plenty of guitars with black original Floyd Roses and have never had any problems. Still, deduct points for the floating tremolo and it's tuning issues.

Blows goats. See my other George Lynch ESP reviews.

Overall Rating : 8
See all my other ESP Lynch Reviews for an idea of my gear. I pretty much love and hate the same things with this guitar. It sounds *better* than my other Lynches, but still not enough to make me stop my allegiance to the DiMarzio Tone Zone.
