It was made in 1999 (or about that time, don't remember exactly) and as the KH are made in Japan...
As any superstrat guitar built by ESP it has 24 frets (moon & star inlay).
The "ouija" name comes from the drawing on the body.
The pickups are to humbuckers EMG 81 active pickups (MetallicA's most used configuration)
The difference from the other MII & MIII is that you have 2 volumes (and of a course a 3 way selector and a tone).
As I said active pickups so they are incredibly quiet.
I don't know if the neck is bolt on or neckthru (and I don't really care, you can have nice bolt on and crappy neckthru...)
The body is made of alder that's all I remeber for woods...sorry.
The finish ok, so it's black (thick painting) with a Ouija board drawing on the body and pickups.
The body a super strat (way better looking than a Fender,ha!)
As any real guitar of this price with ESP you have an original floyd rose!
I might be wrong but I think I heard the tuners where Gotoh...
The neck is perfect like never seen anywhere else.If you played an MII or MIII it's even better (thiner) than that! The frets are smooth, everything is made to make it even faster than any nice neck available on the market.
As it is a signature model it's sold with the case.(not my MIII,i had to buy it seperatly cause the french importer is not doing his job...I bought a gator case for it)
Any tool needed to maintain the guitar comes with it.
My advice,if you already have an MII or MIII and find a Ouija get it! It's even better!(inbelievable, but it really is)

It suits heavy metal as no other guitar!
But you have a smooth clean sound too.
I use a boss GT-6 multieffects with an Engl amp (all tube)
Tha active pickups mute the guitar when you don't play and give enormous power when you hit the strings.
The sound is more than rich and you can have whatever you want combined to a multieffect
As I say I play metal but also blues rock...almost everything exept raegge. This guitar suits every style!
I like everything about its sound

The finish is perfect!

The only thing I added was the strap locks.
I would definitly use it whith no backup (exept for the strings, you never know!)

I didn't have to use it.
Once I asked something to the french importer he was a dumbass not doing his job and not caring about me cause I already had the guitar.
So I phoned to LA and every body was nice and knew everything.
(it's usefull to speak english,lol)

I've got one. Ouija board graphic in body, half moon inlays.
2xEMG81. Had to buy the case separate. In Portugal ESP representative
rips you off asking more money for the case

Heavy Metal wet dream. Very aggressive sound. The EMGs are the best
high output pickups. I run mine throug a Marshall JCM-2000 in the
lead chanel it's simply devastating.

Good factory setup.
Finish flawless.
The neck doesn't feel like my first KH-2 wich was really sweet.

this guitar will most likely do fine once it is set up by a tech, everything else again is fine, it should do fine w/o a back up being a high end guitar i think
