Mine has a Black Cherry finish that looks awesome. It has black Hardware, with a white binding aroung the neck. The body is maple. Its has two EMG HZs.frets, fast action neck, and your standard toggle switch and knobs. The best Part of this guitar is the Neck through design which feels very comfortable and is very easy to get access to the higher frets. All in all, the features are great.

I am a shredder dude so this guitar fits my tastes perfectly. It can go from screaming distortion, and then to one of the shweetest clean sounds ever. Its pretty much really good for any music, even when I play some Metal, Rock, Classical, Or Blues, It always sound superb to me. Its got some of the richest sounds out there. Overall 10.

NO adjustments needed. Ever. Everything was perfect besides a few minor scatches here and there. (Keep in mind I got this guitar used, and I must say, it feels brand new.)

Mine has the transparent black finish (which is gorgeous), standard features, black hardware etc. etc. I re-fitted both pickups with EMG60's as soon as it was bought. All the features you'd want on this kind of guitar I suppose. I'm a fan of dual volume/tone controls for individual pickups (which this doesn't have), though I understand that it would ruin the look and overall feel of the guitar - it's not exactly a Les Paul after all. The neck-thru design makes it comfortable to play and helps out the sound a great deal (see below), it also makes it look great!
Sound
:10
I am in a rock band and a melodic hardcore band. The sound of this guitar still completely blows me away every time I plug it in, which is pretty special considering I've been playing it for almost 3 years now! I definately recommend changing the stock EMG pickups - to me they seemed a bit too scooped and thin for my liking, though they provided a good basic sound, just not to my taste. With the EMG60's, it sounds absolutely incredible - the perfect compromise between beefiness and clarity. The guitar sounds decievably chunkier than it's weight and size, benefitting from the neck-thru design. My favourite thing about the way this guitar sounds is the bite - it has plenty of brightness, but no tinny sounding highs. To be fair, the new pickups probably play a large part in the way it sounds. I play through a 5150II, and the guitar helps the amp punch and crunch, not torn it into a fizzy metal mess. On the clean channel, the neck pickup is full and warm, but still with a nice amount of clarity, while the bridge provides an amazing rocky jangle. The tone control does the job, though to be honest I am not a big user of guitar tone pots, it's not like I'm a jazz guitarist, 10 all the way please! Overall it provides a controlled, consistent sound with no exaggerated frequencies to thin out your sound. I love it!
Action, Fit, & Finish

I bought mine from somebody who'd had it for a month. So, although it was brand new, I never got to see the factory set-up. However, the frets were smooth and even, the neck was nice and straight, tuners were tight in relation to eachother, all screws and fittings were tight and neat. And the finish? Absolutely flawless, binding and all with a nice looking selection of wood... and absolutely gorgeous!
Reliability/Durability

This guitar has been through several UK tours and probably over 100 gigs. It's given me no serious problems, the finish has lasted and stayed bright and shiny, the hardware has all held up (and stayed black!). The only issue I have is with the strap button, which keeps popping out (they're not original though - I refitted them with straplocks). But this is my own stupid fault, I swing my guitar around like a nutbar - it's happened to all my guitars. It just means I have to carry around a box of matches! This guitar is a reliable workhorse - it even keeps its tuning amazingly from show to show, I barely have to tune the thing! The belt scratches on the back are pretty unnoticable considering the wear it's recieved, you can only just see them when the varnish on the back catches the light. The finish seems to handle blows quite well - it only has one small chip by the jack socket which has never cracked or flaked the finish in any way.

I love this guitar. I have a Double Fat Strat, which is also brilliant but completely different sounding. I reccomend this guitar to anyone who plays any kind of rock music. It complements my rig perfectly and is always the first guitar I'll grab from the rack. I know EVERYBODY with a guitar says that "mine's better than guitars twice it's price" - but REALLY, it is! I've been playing 13 years or so, and I've played all sorts of guitar, and this is brilliant - the ESP Horizon, aside from having a nasty selection of finishes, look and feel .... well, cheaper! I have played some Horizons I really like, but I am always FAR more happy to play my LTD. I love the way it's a "metal" guitar that isn't a paper-thin necked weed-machine that feels like it could snap any moment with a trem that makes the guitar never seem quite in tune. Haha, sorry, I have something personal against Ibanezes. This guitar is a no-nonsense, neck-thru rock monster that feels, looks and sounds great!

I know a lot of people say they play everything, but I really do. I like to play hardcore, then switch over to classical, then to blues... this guitar does it all. I've handed it to people that were whailing some SRV, then to people who would play Eric Clapton, and then I play Snapcase or Shockwave, then my solo clean project. The sound is FAR from limited. It has the most rich, full, vibrant sound I've EVER heard come from a guitar. No style is the wrong kind for this guitar, and if you have effects pedals, they will all still sound amaizing because of the set up of this wonder.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:10
This guitar was flawlessly built. I have never had to make any adjustments, other than throwing on some strap locks, as to avoid dropping it while jumping. The action was even perfect, as were the settings on the pickups.
Reliability/Durability

I've vowed that this is the only electric I will ever play now. I don't even want to buy another guitar, except for another H-300, just in case I snap a string or something while playing. I KNOW this will hold up through live shows, I can depend on it, and it will maintain its sound and visual perfection through it all. The only thing that has gone wrong are the pickup casing around the pickup snapped when I accidently hit it with a pick too hard. But the paint didnt even scratch. I don't even see that as a problem, anyway, because I don't know of one person that hasnt broken one yet. This guitar is VERY reliable. It's even hard to get a string to snap because of the slant in the head stock. This thing is solid.
Customer Support

I've never dealt with the company for a problem, but I did contact them asking them about other ESP questions. They were more than helpful, very thankful about my serious words of their product, and even called me back within one day after I left a message one time. And the warranty is lifetime. What more could you want? These people care about their customers.

This guitar has spoiled me. If you're a pro, you'll love it, and if you're learning, it will teach you well. The sound on it is so wonderfull, even if you're just playing unplugged. I was worried at first that the three way selector would limit the sounds, but I was wrong. It can play solid state with the ability to push every note, or be crystal clear and crisp. The deep warm blues tone is so punchy, you just don't want to play anything except blues for hours. Seriously, this will do it all. When other people just see the H-300, their jaws drop, and when they hear it, they HAVE to play it, just to see for themselves how good it really is. The action is great, the color is to die for, and the solid neck thru is endless sustain. The ONLY other guitar I could compair this to is a top end P.R.S., just because that is the only other guitar I've played that was as comfertable, and sounded as good. This is a guitar to buy and keep.

The sounds out of this thing is awesome! The neck through construction is amazing! The stock EMG passive pickups are probably the best stock pickups I have heard in a long time. The sustain is also great on this guitar.

When I first bought the guitar it came with 10?s on it and the action was amazing low without any buzz. I later upgraded the strings to 11?s and that brought the action up little bit, but nothing that you can?t bring back down. The finish is amazing on these guitars. The Finish is a see thru gray/purple. The neck is very fast and it feels like it?s between and Ibanez neck and a Gibson LP. Not to thick, not to thin, just right.

Made in 2001, it is a neck through see-through blue super strat. It has an H/H configuration, with two EMG-HZ pickups, 3-way selector switch, 24 frets with miniblock off-centered inlays, black hardware, teardrop headstock shape, mahogany body with maple cap.
Sound
:9
This guitar has a darker tone in my opinion. The EMG-HZ pickups really blow, at first I hated it, then i got used to it. But they really lack output. I put in a Dimarzio X2N and that really made it huge, palm mutes were much heavier, just an overall better pickup. The EMG-HZs sound pretty sterile too, but after the pickup change, it sounds great.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:8
My action right now is too high, when it came I had to have it raised a bit though. It came strung with .10s and i switched it to .11s which changed the sound DRAMATICALLY. It has a couple very very minor finish flaws along the neck-thru if you look closely, and along the neck binding there is one. Other than that, IMMACULATE. Beautiful guitar.
Reliability/Durability

The strap buttons are TINY. I'm afraid to thrash around with it, because i'm sure it'll come off and break. After I get some straplocks though, it'll be ready for live playing. I need to get some Graph Tech graphite saddles however, because the TOM bridge keeps breaking my strings. The guitarist in ZAO uses the H-300 with EMG81s live, and if an H-300 can survive a ZAO show, it can survive anything. I'm sure it'll be very reliable.
oops, almost forgot ONE bad part
The input jack came out a few days after I played it. I didn't want to wait weeks after sending it in, so i just paid the $10 to have it fixed. No problems since.

I bought this guitar on a total whim, after seeing it on Musician's friend web special for only $300. I was considering getting a higher end Us/Japanese made guitar, and the H-300 wasn't very high on my list. However, i've very satisfied with this guitar and do not regret my purchase one bit. If i ever get a higher end ESP or Gibson or PRS, this might take a backseat, but for right now it's great. I use it through a Marshall Valvestate 100w, and it really sounds great.

My H-300 is a 2000, made in Korea. It has a 24 XJ frets and a lightning fast rosewood fingerboard. It came stock with 2 EMG-HZ passive hums that scream compared to the Fender abortion that I was playing. Consider the comparison level here, I know there are better pickups out there. It has a mahognay neck (I am told) and body with a flame maple top that is fantastic. One great tree gave its life for this guitar. Nothing fancy in the electronics, 1 volume , 1 tone and a 3 way. This model has the tune-o-matic with stop tail piece. When I purchased it did not come with a case but I made the mistake of buying the 'recommended' LTD case. Now, unlike the guitar, that was a piece of junk. The downfall to the web, you can't really 'see' what you are buying. I test drove the guitar, the case was a WAG (wild ass guess). Over all nothing fancy (except the finish) just a good soild Ax
Sound
:10
I play mostly metal, the liek of Metallica (of course), Helloween, Misfits, JP...yea it fits like a glove. I have bee able to dial it in and get the crunch that I was looking for without any trouble. Now, I'm not an expert on sound quality but it has a nice warm sound to it (challenges my friends LP, doesn't win but challenges it none the less) It also has nice crisp edges to it for leads. I live in a townhouse so my little Laney HCM30R serves me well. However, plugging this puppy into my bud's Line6, yea it brings the house down. Needless to say there is a nice rehersal room in a converted wearhouse in the 'not-so-nice' part of town that has our name on the door.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:9
Out of the case the action was low, WAY LOW. It gave new meaning to the term 'fret buzz'. Not a big deal, a little tweek here and there, silent. Other than that it was great. Almost in tune when it got here. The finish is incrediable. Others have mentioned it, I agree. Mine in see-thru-green, white binding, black headstock. There are not enough OOO's in smoooth to describe it. Others rave about the see-thru-black, yea that is tough to beat but when I got then all I could get was blue, red or green. Green wins hands down, really dark. Construction seems rock solid, no 'hooks' where the frets are mounted, no gaps on the inlays and all bindings are clean.
I read a review about this one when I was looking at em'. them mentioned the 19th fret block. Yea it's a little crooked but you need to stare at it awhile to figure it out. Doesn't affect playability, don't care.
There is a bubble in the finish on the head stock, again , you don't hear a bubble.
Reliability/Durability
:9
I have not had this guitar long enough to say it wil last forever, but it seems solid enough. I really don't abuse my 'toys' so I imagine it will last quite a long time. The hardware is questionable, it seems to come out of tune pretty easily (nothing a minor upgaade won't cure).
OK, the finish and cockroaches are the only 2 things that are going to be left after a nuclear assult (ok maybe 3 things, damn VW bugs! I though we had seen the last of em' in the 60's sheesh)
Strap locks are a must. Not that the buttons are not any good, I'd just hate to see this taking a tumble.
I'd say you could depend on it in a live fire situation but gig without a backup, not a chance. Too many things can happen

I played for a year or two, dropped it for and extended period. I'm back with a vengance. Lack of $$ prevents me from getting any really cool gear right now (other than this guitar), all things in time.
If it were stolen, I could talk tough and say I'd kick their arse, realistically I weigh a buck and a half with attitude so the odds are not in my favor. I am a good shot though...
No doubt, I would go out and get another.
I compared BCRich Platinum and NJ's, Schecter's, a used Gibson LP and a Jackson Kelly. I love style of the Kelly but its got that damn Floyd. Aside from the Gibson (just too expensive) they just did not play as nice to me. Everyone is different, go to all the music stores around, play as many differnet kinds as you can. I fell for the ESP LTD. Some friends whine that it is not a 'real' ESP, ya know I really don't care. It is built well, it feels right to me, it plays nice and it looks tough. What more can ya ask for in an AX.

I'm not sure what year this guitar was made..I'm thinking 1999. Made in Korea. Super fast 24 fret neck, Mahogany body with a figured maple top. 3 way selector switch, two volume and one tone knobs. I replaced the stock EMG-HZ pickups with a pair of EMG 81's...they SCREAM. The finish is a beautiful see-thru black...its sooooo nice. The stock tuners were also replaced with awesome black schallers..I love this guitar.

I play hardcore/metal...I tune my guitars to Drop C and Drop Bb. This guitar fits that style perfectly....lots of low chunk and plenty of screaming highs when neccesary. I play through a Digitech RP7 into a Peavey Supreme 100W head and a Peavey 4x12 cabinet. This guitar isn't noisy whatsoever...the pickups are solid and tight as can be (remember...they aren't stock..they're EMG 81's.) I can get a big variety of sounds from the guitar....the cleans aren't GREAT..but they're good..what do you want from a metal guitar?
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action was awesome..nice and low...really fast. The setup was just amazing as soon as i got the guitar....the bridge is so perfect...the neck is lightning fast...and the placement of the controls makes them easy to adjust during play.

This guitar has withstood a lot of abuse. It's been dropped...fallen off guitar stands..and even thrown across a stage..and its still rock solid!! The hardware is all in mint condition..no flaws..still awesome. There is tons of clearcoat on this finish..its gonna last forever. I slammed the edge of it into my amp during a gig...and there was about a 1/4" dent..and it only dented the clearcoat!!! I replaced the stock strap buttons with strap locks. I can depend on this guitar forever. I would never gig without a backup..only because I tend to break strings.

I play whatever comes in mind: YM, Van Halen, ZZTop, Beatles, Dire Straits...that is just a selection. I do not have any super-duper equipment either, just a Boss effect box and a small amplifier ('cos I live in an appartment). I believe guitars in general are the most versatile instruments there are, so with the right choice of equipment one can generate any kind of sound. I have never tried active pickups, not Seymours either for that matter but in my opinion HZs sound somewhat weaker compared to QMs that sit on my Ibanez RG.

I have been playing for a number of years, 5 or maybe 6. It is just one of the hobbys of mine. I have 3 guitars now, my first one (Yamaha 112), Ibanez RG620 and LTD H-300. I needed some variation so I bought LTD - there is no advanced stuff on this one (like Floyd Rose, for example), just basics, which is exactly what I needed. This guitar feels great in my hands when I play (I guess I am lucky, because the other two also are great, each in its own way). Set-in neck is just....well....fantastic!
The finish is beautiful. Actually I ordered see-thru black cherry after I saw it in the catalog on the net, but then I went to another store (Estrad) and saw them hang there: one black and one cherry. Man, cherry looked awful compared to black finish, there was sort of no harmony between black hardware and cherry finish, no sir!!!
To me, guitars are art, so I will continue to collect them even if I probably will never become really good at playing (I am 22 now). I do not regret my buy, no way. It was expensive (Sweden, man, 25% VAT, that sucks!!).
My next buy will be another Ibanez RG (570 or Prestige) or Jackson Soloist Professional with some beautiful finish.
