Ive had the esp ltd h207 for 7 years now. I think it was made in some 3rd world country, but the quality is amazing. Its got a bolt on neck, a string through body, non locking tuners, 24 jumbo frets. included no accessories.
Sound
:

I play straight metal, clean tone parts, and use some effects. it has a real thick sound, but cuts through so you can hear every note. The tone is amazing, it is pure, smooth, and rich. everyone who plays it is impressed, even the jerks up at the guitar exchange who made fun of me for ordering it. It stays in tune better than anything ive ever played.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:

The action is where it needs to be. Until recently, there was absolutely no buzzing, now it buzzes on the high E and on fret 9 on the A string. The neck and body are proportionate in weight. WHen i play my buddies ibanez 7string standing up, the neck always sinks to the ground. Mine stays put. It came perfect from the factory, i still have the plastic on the back panels. I got pist off, held the guitar by the neck and slammed against my oak bed, and all it got was a chip, very durable. Just recently, my input became loose, resulting in noise, it can be fixed easily.

Yeah, ive slammed it, beat it, played really hard, jumped around with it. Everything is fine, except for the scratches i put in it. My knobs are a little loose, but they dont make noise and function flawlessly. Strap buttons are still tight. I dont ever go without a back up, no matter what guitar.

This piece seems to be designed by me!!! Ut has everything I want to have in just one guitar, the only thing I can take off from it is the tone knob, the rest is just amazing!! 2 Humbuckers....NO SINGLE COILS!! IT ROCKS!!! The finish of the body looks good, the one I have is the STBK, last week I buy it and this past weekend I've used it live and everybody told me that it looks amazing onstage.
The neck is so comfortable to me, I've been using another brand of guitars ( 7-strings ), and this one just blows me up!!
To be truth I've never ever played before an ESP or an LTD and I'm impressed!!.

The music I'm playing with my band is heavy rock - progressive - or what some ppl called "alternative" music, and this ESP - LTD H-207 is the guitar I've been lokking for for a long long time. At this point I'm sick and tired of playing guitars with a floyd rose tremolo, this one brings me the option to tune it any way I want, and it rules!!! I found the pickups to be a little noisy, but that'0s fine for me, in some way that's what I'm looking for to create the sound that I want to play with my band ( EVELIN ). Nice clean sounds and a very ballsy sound with the distortion.

Everything seems to be made for a hard life on the road.
The hardware, the finish, the headstock, the bridge.....it rocks! Looks like a Les Paul bridge but on a 7 string guitar!!
I always bring several guitars to a gig with me, but the first tie I've used it onstage, I've played a 1:20 set and it was fine at all times!

I've been playing electric guitar for about 15 years now, some guitars I've been plaing are: Fender, Gibson, Yamaha, Ibanez, and a custom made 7-string strat style.
What I hate about this guitar is that I didn't discovered it before.
Now I want to try some other ESP models on 6 & 7 strings.

All of the aforementioned features are on mine too. I wish it had a floyd-rose trem on it. I have seen the same guitar with one but it had a different headstock, which didn't fit the guitar IMO. 7 string. mine is trans red, but Im about to buy a trans black too. basic guitar is all I need.(that what this is)

this guitar is awsome. my bud has a RG and this guitar was like 1/2 the price and so much better. the duncan design pick ups are great, though I was skeptical at first. IMO they blow those blaze pick-ups away. I play the H-207 thru a triple recto and it rocks. I use mainly the bridge pu for a nice tight sound. I play hardcore metal (hatebreed, unearth, dillenger escape plan, fear factory). however I use this guitar messing around for Skynyrd, Zepp, Sabath, Pearl Jam and it works well, if you can get over the fact that you got a thick neck to hold on to.

action is low and and fast. I use 10s and I don't get much buzz on the low notes, and I have no intonation problems. this guitar takes a beating and stays in good tune. I RARELY have to tune her during a set. I will often jump off stage and into a pit while playing this guitar and come out in working order. Input jack was a little messed up cus I bought the floor model. I re-soldered it right away and its not much of a problem now days.

This guitar suits my musical style (Death/Thrash Metal) perfectly. I'm playing it through a Vox Cambridge 15w (tube preamp) and at the volumes this amp can handle it has a great sound (can't afford Mesa). I'm not using any effects and this guitar still gets a pretty good crunch for the rhythms and has a nice well-rounded sound for the leads. Great sustain. I was very leery of the Duncan Design pick-ups, but they actually suprised me. I'm still thinking of slapping either a Seymour Duncan Invader 7 or an EMG 707 which are both special order products through Guitar Center :(

As with any new guitar I believe you have to set it up to your own personal preferences. I lowered the bridge a little, raised the bridge pickup, lowered the neck pickup. The darn thing was almost in tune when I received it (via UPS). I went over this guitar with a fine tooth comb. I've been playin' for about 15 yrs. and this is my first brand-new guitar. My wife bought it for me and she couldn't have done better. I couldn't find one thing wrong with it. Now the see-thru black finish is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Depending on lighting and distance, the color of the wood can go from solid black to a medium gray w/ a hint of purple sometimes... When I first pulled this guitar out of the box the width of the neck looked overwhelming, but is remarkably easy to play. After almost a week of playing this thing I have become used to the extra string up top. The back of the neck is not lacquered and is sanded VERY smooth and is very fast.

I've been playing for 15 yrs. I have mostly played Charvels and still own one. Now that I have this guitar the Charvel will probably spend most of it's time in it's case... I would definitely buy this guitar again if it were lost or stolen and if I could find one. It's just too bad that ESP-LTD decided to quit building these guitars. I love the dept of the 7th string. If I were to buy another 7-string I'd probably get one with a Khaler tremelo.

Made in 2000 most likely. 24 frets with a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fretboard. The body is a solid ash carved top design with a transparent green finish. Two Duncan Design Passive Humbuckers and a string through body construction. Definately designed for maximum sustain. It is has a smaller conservative strat body that was most likely used to reduce the weight of the ash wood. Jumbo frets with a fat neck (what could you expect out of a seven string?)

I play Metal to Jazz music with emphasis on distortion. My rig consists of a Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier stack along with a miriad of FXs. I purchased this guitar to experiment with a seven string. The guitar's sound seems midish. The pickups lack dynamics. I will most likely change them soon. The sustain is good and the feel is exceptional at this price point. I have yet to really experiment with the other 7 string guitars out there but, this one seems to be quite nice.

Great Ax. I consider it a smart purchase after reviewing some of the other comments. I have been playing for 18 years and I have owned just about every popular ax out there (PRS, LPs, Strats, Hamer, Ibanez Etc. . .) I like this ax and it has served me well. I am not using it live YET. I plan on changing out the pickups and incorporating it into our band soon. www.twentyforseven.net

It was made in 2000. Im not sure how many frets it has but I think it is 24. One tone one volume and a three way selector switch. It came with 2 duncan design humbuckers. It is a transparent black finish. It is a string through like Stephen Carpenters of the Deftone's. Non locking tuners. The only thing that I have a problem with is that it has a fat neck. I love how the body it proportionaly correct compared to other 7 string's.

Ive been playing for about 5 to 6 years. If my guitar was stolen I would try to by an actual ESP thats how much I love this company. If I could change anything about the guitar I would make it a neck through and change the head stock to a pointy headstock. And to say I am getting long lasting sustain like a gibson or any kind of neckthrough with the bolt on neck that I have on my guitar. I had bought this guitar by force I was waiting on an ltd viper and they were on back order for over 7 months and I sold my other guitars so I had to buy a guitar and loved the way this one just looked.

I think this guitar was made in 2000. I am not sure where the LTD's are made. Probably Indonesia, etc. It has 24 frets, arched top, 7-string. The pickup selector is like that of a Les Paul, but is convieniently put by the volume/tone switches. Two "Duncan Designed" black humbuckers (stock) which are passive. I can't remember what wood the body is, but the neck is maple. Rosewood fretboard with small inlays along the top of the neck. One inlay centered on the 12th fret with "H-207" on it. String-thru body. The finish is very cool. It is a brick red transparent finish that looks absolutely gorgeous. The body style is that classic ESP look. (Kirk Hammett, George Lynch, etc.) The tuners are not locking, but stay in tune quite well. I bought a used ESP case separately because the guitar is so nice, I wanted to protect it.

This guitar is "the" hard rock/metal guitar. I play through a Mesa Boogie and Boss RV-3 Digital Delay, and it sounds killer. Very good heavy sound! The sound is like that of guitars costing twice as much.
The pickups don't feedback, and are pretty quiet. The only time I get hum is when I am playing in a room with 100 things plugged into the wall. The guitar has a nice full sound, but has a touch of the newer "dry edge" tone. Really versatile acutally. The guitar sounds good on clean settings also. The neck pickup has a little more of that strat sound than the bridge. The bridge is definitely more hard edge. I love everything about the sound of this guitar and have no complaints. Every guitar I have ever owned was missing that "bite". This one has it! The low b sounds really good on this guitar and does not rattle like the low b on Ibanez models do. Not as muddy as Ibanez 7-strings. (Ibanez makes nice 7-strings also though)

I got this guitar used from some guy that wanted to sell it to get a Paul Reed Smith. The guitar sounds and looks like he never even took it out of the case. I went through with a fine toothed comb and could not find one deficiency....so I had to buy it! I originally wanted black, but fell in love with the "vampire red?" color. Nothing was loose, scratched, dented, etc. Just a sweet looking guitar!

It is always good to have a backup, but I have done shows without one and kept fingers crossed. I think this guitar will defintely last. I will probably buy LTD's exclusively from now on. I have owned Fender, Gibson, Ibanez, Washburn, etc., and always seemed to loose interest in the guitar after awhile. This guitar looks and sounds so good, that I feel like I have made an investment. The only thing I am worried about, (and why I am giving it a 9) is because I saw a model in MARS music and the fretboard was so worn looking, that it looked like someone played it non-stop for 50 years straight. I don't know why it looked that way, but I have to admit, it still played killer and didn't effect my playing at all. Just a picky thing.

This is a 1999 7-string model, made in Korea. It's comprised of a bolt-on 25.5" scale maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fretboard, a solid ash PRS-style body with a carved top, 2 "Duncan Designed" passive humbuckers, a 3-way switch, master volume and master tone controls, a Tune-o-matic bridge strung through the body, and Gotoh tuners (I think). Mine is finished in transparent black and has a very nice grain pattern IMHO. The neck and headstock have white binding, while the body has natural woodgrain binding.

I play a mix of classic rock, metal, and progressive rock (imagine a cross between Queen, Metallica, and Dream Theater), and this instrument suits the heavier end of this musical spectrum quite nicely. For this guitar, I use a Line 6 Flextone Duo with the AX2 Floorboard; my main 3 sounds are a jazz-chorus clean, a rectified rhythm, and a modern hi-gain lead. I've noticed very little noise in any of the pickup selections, and the sound is huge and rich. I've found that I've actually had to cut back on the amount of bass I use because the guitar has so much low end response. Its forte is of course massive power chord chugging rhythms, but you can also do some interesting clean arpeggio things with it and of course pretty much anything you can do with a comparable 6-string. I do wish the bridge pickup had a hair more definition, but other than that it's perfect.
One warning about the neck: If you're used to Strat or Ibanez/Jackson necks, this guitar's neck will feel like a 2x4. It's not a bad thing, but it is *very* chunky and definitely takes a little getting used to.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:
7
The action when I initially bought this guitar was pretty poor; somebody at the store where I bought it decided to "adjust" it by tighening the truss rod to radically lower the action, which made it very buzzy on the low frets. I had to get a setup from my local guitar tech to really make it play well, but it plays *very* well now. I have not noticed any flaws that I haven't caused myself.
Reliability/Durability
:

Here's where this guitar has some problems. The finish is a bit more fragile than I'd like; within the first month or so I had it, I chipped the finish on the lower bout once and knocked a chunk out of the headstock binding. The chunk out of the headstock binding was my own dumb fault, but the chip on the lower bout wouldn't have happened had the finish been more solid; I've certainly never had a problem like this with my Epi LP, which also has a transparent finish. The strap buttons are OK, but I've replaced them with Schaller strap locks anyway (I do this on all my guitars). It's tough to have a backup 7-string, and I think I can depend on the guitar -- but I have to baby it a little.

I haven't had any real contact with ESP support. I suppose I should complain to them about the fragility of the finish as some point.

I've been playing for about 6 years. I've also got 2 Epiphone electrics (LP, Flying V), the Flextone, a Peavey Classic 50 2x12, some effects pedals, and an Ibanez acoustic. When I went looking for 7-strings, I decided that I wanted one with a Tune-o-matic, and at the time there were only two available: the ESP LTD H-207 and the Dean EVO-7. The Dean had serious issues staying in tune and the ESP was considerably cheaper and just sounded better. I love the guitar, except for the fact that the finish seems so fragile; it's well on its way to replacing my V and my favorite guitar.

This is a 1999 Esp 7 string, made in Korea and "assembled" in the usa. It has 24 frets, one volume and one tone control with a three-way switch. It has two Duncan humbuckers, strat/PRS type body style, a maple neck, solid 1 piece ash body, rosewood fretboard, string-thru-body bridge, gotoh tuners (i think), and mine came in a transparent black cherry finish. The neck's width/thickness can be compared to an ibanez, but it's just a little bit thicker, but it still feels pretty good. I ordered mine with a hard shell case, which came with a small cord. That's all the extra's the company gives you i think, but since i ordered it from drum city guitar land, they gave me some picks, a strap, an extra set of strings, and some catalogs.

This guitar has a solid ash body body, which gives it a really good crisp, tight sound. The crispness is good for a seven string because the lowest string tends to get lost on other guitars when played in full chords. The strings retain a lot of definition, which i like. The string-thru body construction gives this guitar AWESOME sustain, which i've really been impressed with. I play heavy metal and rock, which this guitar works well for. I usually run it thru like this: guitar - rp6 - pedals - amp (peavy bandit 112). It works well and doesn't loose it's definition loads of distortion, which is important for heavy metal. I think straying too far from the rock/metal sund with this guitar would not be using it to it's full extent, as it tends to work best in those categories. It is bright w/ the ash body, but the duncan humbuckers give it more fullness, kind of a les-paul meets fender deal. The only thing I really don't like is that i can't seem to get the treble just right. I liker ther to be about 50% more treble than bass in my sound, but i'm having trouble getting to that point with this guitar.
Action, Fit, & Finish

I could not find any flaws in this guitar when i got it, even though it was shipped. the electronics didn't having any problems either. The bridge humbucker was a little to high towards the higher strings, so i lowered it. the action was WAY WAY too low, i mean you could barely hear the notes thru the fret buzz, so i had to pull it up quite a bit. I give it and 8 becuase i consider the adjustments i made minor and something that you should do when you first get any guitar.

The hardware and finsh seems pretty sturdy, and the neck feels rock solid to me. Strap butons are screwed into the horns just right. I haven't played this guitar live, but if i did i would probably play it without a back-up because i don't have enough money to buy another guitar "just in case". It seems to be built quite solidly.

This one of my favorite guitars out of the ones i own. i've liked it so much i'm probably going to buy two (the joys of using alternate tunings) six string h-200s, which are basically this guitar in six string form. I was atracted tothis guitar because it had a real beauty you usually don't find in guitars in this price range. I id a lot of resaerch before buyinga 7 string because they are so expensive. It pretty much came down to this guitar or a schecter c-7. as it turns out, schecter c-7s are made with four peices of ash glued to together, where as this guitar is made of 1 solid piece of ash, so that prety much settled it. If this guitar were stolen i would definatley buy another one.

The LTD H-207 is a new 7-string guitar put out by ESP. It has volume and tone knobs anda three way pickup selector. The pickups are Duncan Design humbuckers(2) and they sound very good. It's a string thru body with a Tune-o-Matic bridge which gives the guitr great sustaine. The body is made of ash and comes in 3 see thru colors (black, black cherry, and aqua) all of which look very good. The body style is a contoured strat style that fits my body very comfortably. It has a rosewood fingerboard with 24 x-jumbo fets. The neck is made of maple and is bolted to the body. The whole guitar has binding(body, neck and headstock). When you order a case you get a few pics and a cord(don't use the cord though it's kinda crappy)

The guitar is great for heavy music and rock. I use a Line6 Flextone HD and a 4/12 cab and can get really mean tones with it but it also sounds great clean. I love this guitar and i think you will too. The extra string takes a while to get used to but I used to play 6-string bass so it wasn't too hard for me. Give it a chance it opens up alot of possibilites you don't have with a 6-string.
