bough t used from guitar center. missing a back panel. other than that every thing is sweet. duncans, floyd rose, 24 xj frets. previous owner replaced the locking nut with locking tuners which actually keeps tune better. definitely likin it.

Sound : 10
i play striaght up metal and this guitar blows away my esp v200 flying v, which i neverr thought would be possible...

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
action is ridiculously low! it plays soooooo nice.has some dents and dings but it seems as though the previous owner didnt take care of it. it will be cared for and fixed in my hands. no problems with pickups or bridge.

Reliability/Durability : 9
i would use this without a backup in a heart beat(well, maybe a backup for alternate tunings)...super reliable guitar.finish hardware and strap locks are definitely solid and match the rest of the guitar. i particularly like the color of the hardware.

Customer Support : No Opinion
havent dealt with the company... no problems so no need.

Overall Rating : 10
ive been playing for 6 years and will only play esp guitars. this is no exception. stands with if not higher than any other guitar i have owned. i would definitely try to find the same guitar or another esp 7 string if this was stolen(if ne one tries to steel it they will die)i would like a different paint job. i like the locking tuners especially. compared it to the schecter omen 7 but this has a curved fretboard, schecter was flat. amazing in every way. is now my primary guitar and will be for quite some time...til i can afford a custom esp7 string flying v...

The M-207 is a Korean made LTD, a lower-budget subdivision of ESP. It has 24 extra jumbo frets, one volume, one tone, and hum/hum configuration with three-way switching. The pickups are Duncan Designed which sound okay but in my opinion need to be replaced. The neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard and very original arrowhead inlays. The strat-style body is alder and mine has the Midnight Purple finish which I really like. And it has a liscensed Floyd Rose locking tremelo that has been recessed into the body.

Sound : 8
I play very heavy metal and for this the guitar rocks. The extra long scale is nice when the guitar is tuned in A. I play rythem so I like to use a very thick, bassy tone. I use a Peavy 5150 II half-stack, with a Boss Mega Distortion and overlay a Big Muff Pi. The stock pickups are very noisy though on a high gain setting and the B and E string are both muddy in differant degrees when tuning in A. As far as variety in sounds I only use the bridge pickup but personally that is all I need. Overall with a new set of pickups (or just a bridge in my situation) this guitar can sound very kick-ass.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 5
Bad news. From the factory my M-207 had a slightly mis-aligned neck that could be warped a little but I had that taken care of. The action was great but because of the neck there was a lot of fret buzz. The pickups were just the right height that they should be but I like to raise the bridge pickup to get a crunchier sound. The Floyd Rose was setup nicely and the only adjustments required were so I could tune down to A. I haven't found any major flaws worth mentioning. I have to give it a 5 only because of the neck problem.

Reliability/Durability : 9
ESP makes great guitars and I would feel very comfortable playing this guitar live, but bring a backup just in case the Floyd Rose begins to act up.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have dealt with esp but I have heard very good things

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing for about two years now and I really like this guitar. If stolen or whatever I would definatley try to get another M-207, but with ESP no longer making seven strings to could be difficult.

This is the coolest guitar I have between my Ibanez GAX 70 & RG-7421. This guitar was made in Korea, and its great quality. It has 24 Jumbo Frets. It has one volume & one tone knob with 3-way switching. It comes with Floyd Rose which I personally like. I really like the fretboard arrow inlays, and the fretboard itself feels smooth. Most importantly the guitar feels just right for me.

Sound : 10
The sound is great, and I personally like 7 strings because I feel it opens doors for my creativity in playing. I'm not playing a 7 because of Korn, or Fear Factory, or Meshuggah, Eventhough I love heavy music and play it. I'm playing a 7 for my own personal reasons. The pick-ups are "Duncan Designed", but I recently put in a DiMarzio Tone Zone 7 Bridge pick-up in it, so it sounds really great now through my Line 6 AX2-212 Amplifier.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The only downside to this guitar was the slightly noisy factory "Duncan Designed" pick-ups. But replacing them isn't a big problem. The paint job is good, its Midnight Purple, eventhough it looks black from some views. But overall it a good manufactured guitar. ESP make some really great quality guitars.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I trust this guitar to play for live use. And the hardware seems pretty strong as does the neck.

I have been playing guitar for about 2 years now and I just love this guitar. It's on my lap once I wake up til I go to sleep. I'm glad I snatched this guitar before any other lucky person did. If it were stolen I would make sure I hex this baby before that ever happens, so that way the person who stole it will have bad luck. The thing I love about this guitar is the whole body style, inverted head-stock, strat style, 25.5 inch scale (good for tuning a little lower). ESP rocks, I trust them. Too bad ESP stopped making 7 strings... So to any of you reading this and are thinking about getting an ESP 7 string, You better act now before its too late.

Normal features, floyd,24frets etc. seymore duncans etc. all for a good price

Sound : 10
We ran the guitar through a digitech RP-7 through a mesa boogie mark111 and put it up against an Ibanez RG 7620 and it was hard to tell the difference in sound and tone. I like the tone alot

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Pickups are good, the finish is okay. I think that the only problem that I have is that the head stock is rather sharp and you would definately need a hard case to move around with it. It would tear a soft case to shreds.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Metallica depend on it, so why shouldn't I.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never dealt with them

Love it.

This guitar was made recently. It has- 7 strings, 24 huge frets, arrow-head inlays, reverse "Kirk Hammet" headstock, Floyd Rose trem, silver matte finish, duncan-designed pickups. There is one tone and one volume knob, two humbuckers. I think the wood is alder but I'm not sure. The body is that boring old "strat" style. The neck is fairly slim, but very wide. The scale length is way too big. It is a "shred" guitar for those death-metal heads with huge strong hands.

Sound : 7
The guitar sounds pretty decent. The pickups aren't the best, they buzz a little, but oh well. I play through a marshall combo. It has a pretty beefy tone, but the 7th string is just so low!! It made all of my riffs sound like mud. But if death metal or Korn is your thing, this guitar would be good for you.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
The action on this guitar is terrible. I'm used to playing Les Pauls and SGs, which have really great action. But if you have really strong, beefy hands, you probably won't notice. I bought this guitar from Guitar Center, who bought if from Musican's Friend as a used guitar, so there was a flaw on the finish, but it was hardly noticable. Otherwise, the guitar was set up well.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I have to admit, this guitar is fairly reliable. The whammy bar was a little wierd, but oh well. You should have a back up to this just in case, because of the bridge.

Overall Rating : 9
This is a pretty decent guitar, but not for thrash metal. If you play death metal or Korn, you'll love this guitar. But if you don't want your riffs to sound like mud, buy another guitar. It is a good guitar for its price range, though. But in terms of 7-strings, you should get an Ibanez. They sound and play 10x better.

I got this guitar by trading a RG-570 even for it. The guy I traded with had just bought it new, but it was causing problems with his band, so he was looking to sell it or trade for a 6-string, which I did. This guitar has a 24 fret neck, reverse headstock (takes a little getting used to), two Duncan Designed Humbuckers which sound good to me, one volume and one tone control, black hardware, including a Floyd Rose Licensed Tremelo unit which appears to be well constructed. The paint on mine is what I believe they call a Metallic Purple, but it looks brown to me, which matches the rosewood neck nicely. The rosewood neck on this guitar is beautiful! It has boomerang inlays and the entire neck is nicely constructed. It has frets which are not as large as those on my Ibanez, which is OK with me. The finish on this guitar is not as good as that on my RG-570, in that you can see some woodgrain waviness under the paint. But for at least $300 less than a RG7620, I can handle a little waviness. Although the Duncan Designed pickups sound good, I may replace them with DiMarzio Blaze 7's because I really like the thickness of those pickups. The guitar does seem to have good sustain. I play through a Johnson Marquis 120 Amp (which I love), and this guitar is going to give me a great tool to be creative with. The pickup switch is a three way (bridge, both, neck), which suprised me a bit. I expected something similar to the RG7620 strat style wiring. But I mostly use the bridge pickup anyway, and I was really beginning to question the usefulness of the "in between" positions on my RG because I lost so much volume there, so I can live with this setup easily. This guitar came with a gig bag, but I think I am going to buy a hard shell case for it, especially since it has a very pointy headstock. The strings that this axe shipped with are heavier than I like, so I am fixing to go to an extra light set (.008-.038 + a .050 Low B String). I hope this setup works out. I am also hoping that this helps to eliminate what I consider to be a current B String that is a little too stretchy and bassy. Hopefully the lighter B String will feel a little less like playing a bass. Overall, I am very happy with this axe. If you want to get into a 7-string at a reasonable price, this is a very nice axe to do it with. I was told that Schecter and ESP are associated in some way, so the hardware may be the same between a Schecter and an ESP, but I've played a Schecter, and I thought the body was too light. This guitar has a body that weighs just right. I also think the neck on this guitar is better than on any Schecter I have seen, although the rounded back on this neck is not quite as appealing as the flattened back of a RG7620 neck. But again, for $300 less, I can deal with it.

Sound : 8
The Duncan Designed pickups have a good rock sound, but I thought they are more hollow sounding than the DiMarzio Blaze pickups, which seem to have a more compressed sound, which I like.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The rosewood neck is beautiful, the body is nicely painted, but could have used a thicker sanding sealer coat to eliminate the "wood waves" underneath. Hardware is well constructed and pickups are well mounted in rings (no wobbling). The machine heads are very good and tight. It seems to stay in tune pretty well also.

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar appears to be built like a sh#t brickhouse. I do not like the pointiness of the headstock, but other than that, it is well designed and implemented. I would recommend the hard shell case for roadwork.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know

Overall Rating : 9
For a basic 7-string with a Floyd, this is a great value. Most guys I know mostly use the bridge pickup with full volume and tone most of the time, so the "Les Paul" type switching is not a big deal. If you need the "Super Strat" type of switching, it's gonna cost you $300. If you want to have a 7-string and still be able to keep your 6-string, this guitar is an excellent choice.

Made over the last three months. Its one of the LTD seven strings. 24 fretter with weird little boomerang kind of inlays. Solid top with a black finish. Its got an ESP floyd which I had added two more tension springs to so it stays in tune better. Its got two humbuckers (volume and tone controls) by duncan which are pretty cool but if these are the same ones that are on the schecter I'm gonna have to put EMG 707s in here (I can't stand those stupid freakin schecter pickups). Body is alder neck is maple fingerboard is rosewood.

Sound : 8
Its pretty cool for very heavy stuff. I recently am getting into Vai But he tunes to B. I tune to drop A. I use it with a Dual rectifier, Alesis 3630, Roland GP-100, and Roland SDE-330. Its pretty quiet. But the clean sound sucks. I have a custom Ibanez seven and the clean sound is almost better than a strat tone. I HATE SEVEN STRING NECKS!!!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Setup was good but I had to reset after adding tension springs.

Reliability/Durability : 10
ESP doesn't build crap. I feel very safe playing this guitar.

Customer Support : 10
ESP is the best and most friendly guitar company I have ever worked with. They are very cool about everything you ask them.

Overall Rating : 8
Its cool but ESP should stick to six strings. Seven string guitars should be an Ibanez exclusive. They do it the best.
