This ia a A-Style Mandolin. It has all solid wood. Solid spruce top, Solid flamed maple back and sides, maple neck with ebony fronted headstock, Ebony fret board. The body is hand carved and hand made. It is modeled after the classic A-Style instruments of the twenties. It comes with a great case too!!
Sound

The sound? Let me put it this way. I have played many mandolins in the last 36 years that I have been playing and this one is right up there with the best. In fact in the music store they had an early Gibson mando. and It could not hold a candle to the Eastman. The Eastman is crisp, clear, seperated, and warm. I love it's sound.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action is great. Lots of room to move the brige up or down and it has a rod in the neck for future adjusting. The finish is flawless. They did a great job capturing the "old world" look.
Reliability/Durability

I have not had it long enough to know. It seems very stable and I would use it anywhere without a back up. The warrenty is lifetime so Eastman has confidence in their work.
