This guitar is made in china. Its a Les Paul Special design w/ 2 P 90's a stop tailpiece 2v 2t controls. The one I own is a tv yellow finish. Set neck and Kluson style tuners. The body appears to by basswood or a similar weighted wood. Nice gig bag included. I rated this an 9 being that it was a copy of the LP spec.

Sound : 10
Sounds very much like a Special. I a b'ed it w/ an original LP Spec. and it matched up very well. I tryed it out through three amps. a BF Princeton a 1940's Montgomery Ward 1x12" and a BF Super Reverb. They all reproduced the sound attractively adding their own vibe to the Eastwood. the sound from the BF Princeton was very close to the early Foghat sound (cranked to 10 of course) The BF Super had a crisp country sound on the back pick up and a fat bluesy sound on the neck p/u. Where the Eastwood really surprised me was when I played it through the M. Ward it reproduced that T-Bone Walker Switchmaster sound to a tee. Look its not an arch top so it did have a bit more high end.....but hey what is that bad?

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
It was a very well made and finished guitar. The fret job was almost shocking. better than any fender guitar I have seen in the last 10 years. No BS!!! Tuners were consistant (tightness) very Klusonesque. The tv yellow finish was appealing, it obviously did not look like my original.......but than again I was not aroiung to see my LP Spec when it was new. I guess the only anomily I could see was that the heel of the neck and surrounding area did not seem to be as "buffed out" as the rest of the guitar. Picky? Yes! Action was very good if not better than vg. The most surprising aspect of this guitar in this catorgory was the stability of the guitar. It is a very well built guitar I dare say better that the budget LP Spec. that I own.
I have shown this guitar around and have seen peoples faces when they realize that a set neck tv yellow LP Special clone sells for 300 bucks!!!

Reliability/Durability : 9
Gigged with it a few times and it was very good. Stayed in tune throughout a rigorous show and the next time I took it out of the case all but one of the strings were still in tune. Strap buttons were a bit shallow and almost dropped the guitar once. Straplocks would help..I always have a back up.

Customer Support : 10
Mike from myrareguitars.com.is very cool.........and very happy to answer questions aboout his line. Eastwood guitars are Mike Robinson's baby and he treats you as if you were his neighbor not a customer.

I know many of you folks see reviews and say this guy dont know squat. Well I can tell you all in cyberguitarworld I own over 100 guitars from vintage Fenders and Gibsons to D'Aquisto's and Benndetto's and then Eko's Teisco's. Over 60 vintage tube amps. I play professionally and have for over 20 years worked on stages all over the world. Bottom line is I am in the process of ordering seven more Eastwoods (arch tops, a 12 string,SG etc.) that i intend to gig with me on the road this winter and leave the vintage guitars where they belong at home. Nuff said.....Eastwood guitars....so far sooooo good!
