Mine's a lefty, black, with Bigsby. See other review for features. Traded a Fender Performer for it, but added something for the Bigsby. Body has what I think they call a German carve. Looks sharp. Fits fine in a gig bag; as for a hard case, it would require Eastwood's or something like a 335-size. Came with a cable, some Eastwood picks, a T-shirt (I think), and a truss rod wrench.
Sound
:9
Two humbuckers fit just about any style of music, I suppose. I play Merseybeat, which doesn't require any particular sound. (Actually, the cleaner and cheesier it is, the better.) I plug into a POD which goes into my Peavey Classic 30 tweed or my vintage Davoli Studio 60(Italian). Except for a touch of reverb and occasional slap-delay, no effects in my chain.
Don't know why, but I like the idea of a chambered body. Don't know what effect this has sound-wise. Takes some weight off I suppose.
Action, Fit, & Finish

Set up from supplier was OK, but this was not that important since I play my lefty guitars strung righty, which means I always have to have a luthier install a righty nut.
Installation by supplier of the Bigsby left a small scratch between the bottom of the unit and the lower strap button, but, since I live in Italy, I wasn't going to make an issue out of it.
Neck is a bit too wide for me. A question of taste.
Reliability/Durability
:9
I've used the guitar live on many occasions with no problems. I always have a back-up in case of string breakage.
Guitar seems solid and durable.

Great support. Quick e-mail responses. If there were only more sellers like Mike Robinson. And he hasn't forgotten us lefties.

I've been playing guitar since '64, gigging since '72. I've had all sorts of guitars (mostly righty worn upside-down). I sold all the guitars that are now worth big money. (Who knew back then?) I currently have a Gretsch Duo Jet '57 model, a Jap 60s Strat, a Jap '62 Tele Custom, a Samick ES-5 copy, a Crestline Les Paul copy and a 60s Eko (Italian). If the Supro got lost or stolen I wouldn't replace it, but not because it's a bad guitar, but I'd like to try something different. (Maybe if the neck was a bit narrower....)
I bought this guitar mainly for its vintage look. Deal was right, and lefties are not easy to find.

Korean made, limited serie Supro Coronado reissue. Mine is Jet Black with a Bigsby. Carved tone chamber Mahogany body (a key feature unlike on the original !), set with a Bigsby (licensed), Two humbucker looking single-coil alnico PUs (the other key feature!), 3-way switch, Volume and Tone controls for each pickup. Block fret markers on a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. 3 screws in the neck / body joint. White-bound neck and headstock. Kluson vintage looking tuners. Roller saddle tuneomatic bridge. Full scale neck, really feels like a Les Paul Gibson neck. Very comfortable. Jumbo frets, very nicely joint with the binding. The rosewood fingerboard is very silky, inlays are well set, no difference in touch and feeling. Neck is the right width to me (larger than a ric, very alike my old Gretsch) : not too thin but still very fast ! The carved body is also very comfy to me, rather large but not too much. Feels alike a 360 rickenbacker in terms of size and weigth. I dont have the eastwood hard case, was not available. I give it a 9 : i think this quality guitar should be sold exclusively with this hard case, it deserves one ! it is definitely NOT that kind of cheap souding far east or anywhere made junk.
Sound
:9
I mainly play sixties inspired pop'n'roll, dark jazz, noisy acid blues. This guitar is a great compliment to my rickenbacker 330. It has a dark, vintage sound with a modern comfort and is really easy to play. It has vibe and personality and a unique look.
It fits perfectly with my Ampeg all tube amps (a vintage Gemini I and a recent Jet II). The PUs definitely sound like single coil (which they are ! no Humbucker !), the amps break up quite early, these are strong PUs, alike the new rickenbacker PUs.
Sound is really the result of a true cool combination of : mahogany, tone chambers, single coil alnico PUs.
The best description i have his : a mix between a P90s mahogany vintage SG and some twang of the half hollow Rickenbacker. Very sensitive PUs and strong response.
At first, i thought it might lack precision in the mids, but after a few months of playing, it feels it can really groal and sing (dark) without loosing precision. When played cool and quite, it can deliver great jazz tones. But its main ability is definitely rock n roll and dark swampy blues.
May be a few K output less would have gained even more precision and diversity, it is why i give it a 9. Maybe it can be solved by modifying the PUs.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:7
The only flaw i found is a tiny buzz at the 11th fret A string. -1 for this one. I think it can be fixed, i'll see with my luthier.
Otherwise action and set up were excellent when i received it, set up with d'addario 10s. It was new, NOS actually, stocked unplayed for a few years in a shop in kentucky, so i guess it is the original factory set up. Pickups adjustment is also great, i would not change anything : separately or together they deliver clear and strong response.
In terms of finish, the wooden parts are perfect, feels high quality. Tuners are cool, vintage like but still hold the tension well. Bigsby is well set.
The plastic parts are poor : cheapy white knobs, switch, PU rings, and tuner heads. It deserves a lot more ! Maybe it's because it is part of the early Eastwood production, i have seen they designed nice black chrome switch plate for the Map model since. I began to replace those plastics with chrome and vintage inspired parts, it is easy and funny, and this beauty (it is really a Jet Black Femme Fatale) dresses very well. Still another -1 for finish.
Another issue (last one) i had, was with the roller saddles that were rusty when i received the guitar. Funny for 'chrome' saddles. another -1
Reliability/Durability

This guitar has become my second axe as a compliment (and not a back up !) to my 330 rickenbacker, it delivers some things better than the ric on some of our compositions.
No issue in terms of live playability, strap buttons are really strong, it is a pro instrument.

I have been playing for 15 years now. Own and love a 330 Ric, 68 SG Special, 58 Hofner President, 64 Gretsch Clipper, 66 Gretsch Corvette, US Telecaster with vintage PUs, Japan Jazzmaster, 90s Dano. Well, i have been into vintage guitars and sound and single coils from the beginning, i love vintage guitars, but you have to face it : they rarely are without issue, i have bleeded on my old SG for many years.. And now they are expensive ! So i discovered Eastwood. I saw a guy playing an old Supro live in a bar in the US many years ago and so i decided to try and buy this black Supro repro through eBay. And i am not at all disapointed.
It has a great sounding personality, in phase with its design, you can really tell it is the result of a genuine research for reinventing vintage sound, without simply copying the original but trying to enhance and interpret it.
I wish it had better hardware in stock, even if it's easily fixed. And i did not pay a lot of money for it. It is really a great guitar for the value. Real nice conception.
If stolen, i think i would quickly go for another Eastwood, maybe another Supro (but it is discontinued..), or give a try to this new Tuxedo.. It feels like sounding nasty good !

Sounds very fat and full. The hollowed out body, I'm sure, contributes to this. My guess is, less hot pickups would heighten the "hollowness" of this guitar. Wonder what a P90 type pickup would sound like in this.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:6
Everything was good on mine when I recieved it, but it did need a fret leveling and better set up. This made it play real good especially in the first five or so frets. It gets a little "tighter" as you go up the neck. Not a bad thing, it's not trying to be a PRS.

This guitar seems well built. Feels solid. Maybe the tuners are a little lightweight, but overall, a solid guitar. Should stand up to gigging.

This is a cool guitar that has it's own sound and feel. Kinda reminds me of my 70's Gretsch Roc-Jet. Unlike the Gretsch, I don't think I'll open the case and find it in three seperate pieces. If you are looking for a cool guitar that can do roots music and sound great with distortion, this is not a bad place to start.

Features are well covered in earlier reviews but this is a remake of a guitar from around 1962 so keep that in mind. The neck is great and quite wide but not too much so. The frets are nice and maybe this is a change from the original which probably had frets like coat hanger wire. Didn't come with a case but I got the Eastwood one eventually, which is one of the best hardcases i have seen but they are pricery (??80 ish. only 20 frets so shredders leave now (leave anyway in fact...you intimidate me...) It's tone chambered mahoganey body with a mahoganey neck RW fingerboard (i think). Minimalistic guitar but gets a five due to the tasteful way Eastwood have made some features better than the original
Sound
:10
Sounds are superb! From deep but twangy neck pickup - reminds me of a strat but with lots more body. Bridge - bright and twnagy too but all sounds are really organic. If you wanna get away from the strat/LP/Tele type sound this will do it for you. Great clean or driven and goes very naughty thru my DSL50 Head. The Eastwood pups are great and I will not be swapping them.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:7
Action is great over the first 5-7 freats due to the zero fret but its average higher up the neck. That said this guitar is comfortable to play and wear. There is a slight rattle on mine that is caused by the groove in the nut not being deep enough (G string) to allow the string to sit heavily enough on the zero fret. This could be easily solved by filing the groove a bit but to be honest it doesn't come thru the amp so I am not that bothered. Set up was OK but the intonatoin has been troublesome and it wont go absolutely bang on so it looses a point or two for that.

Haven't gigged it yet but it seems very solid. Electronics seem to be of a reasonable standard

Been playing 10-15 years on and off. I have a Fender US Tele and a Washburn Wi66Pro. THis guitar stands up to both of them but it pips both on character and funkiness IMHO. Played thru a Marshall DSL50 with a 2x12 it sounds brilliant for rock, punk etc and thru my Laney VC30 it sounds great too. Clean sounds are very Country n Western type so any Alt Country guys should seriously consider one of these. All round I am well pleased and when the honeymoon is over I expect this will still be my favourite guitar. Great value and it shows that you don't have to have a well known name to get a quality instrument. Korean guitars are now officially AWESOME!

Check out other reviews for standard features. Swapped my Fender Performer for it. Mine is a lefty, black with white p-guard and controls. I had them put on a Bigsby which was an extra $100, I think. Guitar was shipped OK to NY, then I put it in baggage for the flight to my home in Italy. Came through unscathed, luckily. I think Mike Robinson hit on a great idea manufacturing and marketing the many repro models he offers. Great that he also thinks about us lefties. Thanks, Mike.
Sound
:9
I play in a Merseybeat band, which means clean sounds all the time. I plug into a POD, usually dialed to Brit Classic, which gives the biggest, fullest sound. Then into a Peavey Classic 30. I only have one other humbucking equipped guitar (a cheap LP copy) so I guess I'd say it's got classic humbucking sounds. I use all three selector positions, depending on the song. Only gigged it twice so I still have to understand if the p'ups and pole pieces have to be adjusted. At this point I'd probably think about raising the middle strings to balance things out. If this guitar came with DeArmond single-coils, I'd have been even happier. Mike does sell single-coil replacements for this guitar, I believe.
Action, Fit, & Finish
:8
Finish was OK. Wonder if have gotten the white one? Installation of Bigsby was not perfect. There's a half-inch scratch just north of the lower strap button where the Bigsby is ancored. I'm sure if I had complained Mike would have taken care of it, but since I live in Italy, I didn't want to ship it to Canada for such an issue. Also Bigsby wasn't perfectly centered but it's not proven to be a problem. Taking off 2 points for this issue. I play lefty, but string it righty, so I always have to replace the nut straight off. The neck is just a tad too wide for me, but this is a very individual issue. I can never deal with the two volume-two tone knob situation so everything stays on 10 and I use amp channel switching to go from rhythm to solo.
Reliability/Durability
:8
Only gigged it twice so reliability/durability remain to be seen. I'm ultra careful with my guitars, and I have a light playing style so the guitar wont be beaten, but when you're in a club and your drummer is drunk, accidents can happen. Generally speaking I think modern manufacturing technology and quality control standards keep us players relatively safe from getting garbage even when spending less than $1000. My vote is based on the fact that only time will tell.

Mike Robinson gives quick, friendly customer service. Unless the guitar just suddenly fell apart, any minor issues would be taken care of by my local guitar guy.

Been playing since '64, gigging since '71. At present have a couple Strats, Tele, Samick ES-5 copy, Crestline LP copy, Domino Vox copy. Buying a guitar sight unseen is always a bit of a risk. I read reviews here before deciding on purchase. The looks are what hooked me. Would have loved a master volume where the p'up selector switch is, like a Gretsch. Contemplating a change in p'ups to give me a more early 60s sound, either a pair of Mike's single-coils or similar.

I wanted to add some more info on this guitar based on my last review. $799 is a great deal for a guitar of this quality. If you want to make it one of the best guitars that you have played; here's my two cents worth. Get a fret dressing and set up. Change out the cheap tuners with klusons. They hold their tune much better. Switch out all the pots and selector switch with american parts. And the last thing that I did was to switch out the pups. I felt that hums were too hot for this guitar. They sound great but I felt that they took away from the chambered body of this guitar. I bought this guitar because of the chambered body and I want that to come out when I am playing. I purchased a custom set of LAF Landmark Hums from mick over at www.manliusguitar.com They are affordable (hand wound) and they sound fantastic. The guitar went from fantastic to unbelievable. For about $300 more you will have one of the best guitars that you could ever play. I have been playing for 25 years and this is one of the best for me. Eastwood meets Manlius. Dangerous combo!

Warm and full tones. Nice and full low end. I am using this with my SDG Vintage 5e3 Tweed and my SDG Vintage 18 watt combo. This guitar sounds amazing through both of these amps. I play rock and blues and this guitar is perfect for my needs. The clean tones that I am able to get out of this guitar are perfect and the overdrive cuts through without sounding muddy. A lot of this has to do with my amps but this guitar sounds better than many of my other guitars.

The guitar was set up fairly well. A few of the frets were loose and created string buzz. I have found over the last few years that almost every guitar you buy now days has this same problem. Unless you are buying from a boutique builder this will usually be a problem. It didn't bother me. My USA Fender Strat and Les Paul had the same issue. My guitar tech set it up and it plays perfectly. Everything else on the guitar was perfect.

i bought it for the blues,it does it very well but i guess it would suit a lot more styles maybe some i don't even know about!except the neck is kinda short if you need/want to play over the 12th,but not impossible as the body cutaways allows it pretty well!
i don't have a personal guitar amp home, but tried it through a silverface fender champ, and it can't be just because of the amp!
No noise when plugged,pu are very calm
neck pu is great, but really love bridge pu trebly kind o'cheap(that's positive, don't get me wrong!)sound, those humbukers are hot, won't mess with them!

hardware is ok for me,the whole body/neck is plastic i think(not sure though, check out website!)with perfect finish i love it,also part of its sound and light feel!no problems with strapbuttons
with exeption of the tuners i think you can depend on it

Perfect fit for me - my style would be Indie Country Blues with a bit of The Replacements, The Faces, Marc Ribot, Jimbo Mathus, Hugo Race, Jimmy Rogers and The New York Dolls thrown in at various points.
Using this live with either a Fender Bassman LTD or a handwired 1974X 18 watt Marshall combo. Record at home with a classic sansamp and pod xt. As for pedals, Live I use two Hotcakes for seasoning when needed and a demeter tremulator. A Z Vexx fuzz factory sees a lot of use in the studio when required plus the pod xt effects.
No noise on any of the settings. The sound is best described as "BIG." Plus it just oozes personality and can get whatever you need but not in the jack of all trades master of non way that many guitars try to reach for. Its not a a les paul or a strat or a tele or whatever - i'd like to think i can pretty much hear all of that in there but done thru its own very cool, soulful voice.
The humbuckers are fantastic! They just crank, crunch, rock out, twang and Wes Montgomery very nicely. No Seymour Duncan replacements needed here.
No dislikes at all here....All Likes!

Have put my Nocaster up for sale - the Supro had a lot to do with this (but its not a tele ok so don't get confused?)
After owning this guitar, and many many others (You name it i've had it), I can't understand why people are still hung up on the strat, les paul, tele formula - and paying too much for them. Those are cool guitars of course but there is soooo much more out there and this Supro Coronado is one of those out there you should check out.
