Special order, korina wood body, ebony fretboard, Ed Roman "blackback" humbuckers, slim taper neck...otherwise a Les Paul Standard copy. All promising to be quite an exceptional Les Paul! But the reality turned out to be.......

Sound : 1
As you will see, this is more a review of Ed Roman & his retail establishment, than it is of "Heritage" brand guitars. After waiting over a year, & admitted mistakes made in manufacturing, the guitar finally arrived. After plugging it in to various amps, pedals, & configurations, I could only coax an average sound out of it. After insulting "Gibson" counterparts to me over & over, & convincing me to buy this guitar at twice the price, I was ultimately dissapointed!

Action, Fit, & Finish : 1
Out of the box, I was horrified. The "Buzz Feiten Tuning System" that they retrofitted on the guitar was a mess. There were blemishes in the finish around the nut, & splinters in the wood. (They also over charged me for that). There were various mars in the finish and the binding. A big varnish drip on the bottom edge of the guitar, & the tiny scratches were not polished out of the finish in many places. By the way, I paid extra to have it set-up for intonation & low action. Both were awful.

Reliability/Durability : 1
I'll never know, because it went right back to Ed Roman. By the way, he kept my money, won't make anything right, & and won't even send back the guitar. He's requiring me to sue him in civil court for all my losses. Beware!

Customer Support : 1
They don't answer emails, phone calls, or mailed letters.

Overall Rating : 1
The real sad thing here is, I have since purchased 3 other high-end guitars, with excellent results, from another dealer of course. Had Mr. Roman had any business sense at all, he could have had all this & future business. But you can't blatantly screw your customers!
