Made in 2004? I have seen this on his website for quite awhile , but I received NO INFORMATION OR ALLENS ETC.... It has a Beautiful quilted maple top and back, mahogony body, neck, and a quilted maple overlay on the headstock. Seymour Duncan blackbacks and a black saddle piezo. Tone Pro's bridge, locking tuners, gold hardware. 24 fret ebony fretboard.

It sounds pretty good, I have the SD's on another guitar and really like them. The SD's sound a little thin on this guitar but as you will read later there is a reason. The piezo sounds pretty good but it doesn't sound as good as my larrivee, like it is purported to on the website. I mostly play classic rock and blues, but I lead worship at my church and we play contemporary christian music. In fact that's what I purchased this guitar for so that we could go from a distorted rock sound to a nice clean acoustic sound.

Like I said it has a BEAUTIFUL quilted maple top on the guitar, but it came with sanding or tool marks under the finish by the bridge...OUCH,WHAT A SHAME!! Several small spots don't have finish on them. Sloppy glue joints and the overall feel is like a $400.00 guitar. It also has quite a few scratches and small dings on the guitar. I specifically asked the salesman what kind of shape the guitar was in and he said MINT!(NO WAY) The neck is wider than the fretboard at the first fret... OUCH! The setup needs redone and etc...

I have only talked to Ed Roman a couple of times in the past about other things and he was nice one time, and rude the next?.I paid for overnight shipping and was assured that I would be called or e-mailed when it shipped and I wasn't. I had even called and sent e-mails, so I wasted my money. I have e-mailed them about the guitar but as of yet no response and from what I have read I am not holding my breath.

Like I said, I have been playing for a long time and have owned many guitars including Fender Strats and copies, many acoustics etc... I have a Heritage 555, Ernie ball John Petrucci with piezo, A Fender Lone Star Strat, JET Earlewood, Jaros (made by Jim Jaros) and a Larrivee DV09 with a L.R. Baggs I-Beam. The JET and JAROS are by far my favorite electrics, they are both a work of art and play and sound AWESOME, and there are reputable dealers to buy the JETS from (sadly Jim Jaros quit making his own, but I believe that someone else is handling them now?). I was very leary of purchasing a guitar from Ed Roman. It seems everyone either loves him?, or hates him. I have never seen such poor craftsmanship on a guitar in my life!! I really wonder if anyone gets a good instrument from him that they make? How can you have all these people say that their guitar is crap,(which I agree with), and other people say that their guitar is like gold? All this guy would have to do is can the attitude and do some QUALITY CONTROL and he could have a lot of satisfied customers???? I don't understand the crappy workmanship. You wouldn't find this kind of crappy workmanship at Guitar Center!!!??? I was prepared to buy more guitars from this guy if this worked out, but there is no way I will do business with him again. I have purchased guitars from other dealers and have had very positive results. Even when problems arose they were handled fairly and promptly. I hope this in NO WAY reflects poorly on Jim Jaros or his Instruments, as he is a stand up guy and a quality craftsman and I would buy another guitar from him anytime! Sadly if this one were stolen I would count myself lucky and collect the insurance money. It feels like a cheap imitation of my real Jaros for about the same price. Thank God I bought this on sale. I don't want to slam anyone, I don't even know Ed Roman. I do know what this guitar is like and I do not want anyone else to feel the sting of poor quality. I sincerely hope that he makes better guitars in the future. He seems to know a lot about them and he is right on about many things on his website. When he gets the quality control up he could be selling awesome guitars!
