Flame maple top (a thin veneer so I'm told), lemon-drop with nitro finish, nickel parts, SH-1N and SH-4 Duncans with aged nickel covers, small tune-o-matic, tulip tuners, medium C neck, excellent finish work all around, even the frets were perfect, nice dark rosewood fretboard (the light ones bother me), MIJ 2005, 22 frets medium . It's a first rate 59 LP knock-off!

I play mostly rock, blues, jazz into a Fender tube amp with a 15" SRO speaker, nice and thick. For overdrive and grit a Bad Cat Extreme Tone is my choice, very dynamic and sweet. This guitar has the Duncan SH-1N (neck) and JB SH-4 in the bridge. While I don't care for the JB's clean sound, the distorted sound is excellent. This guitar is better than any Gibson Les Paul I've owned (a couple of 70's models that are long gone). This guitar sounds wonderful! The neck pickup is thick without too much mud. A real sonic pleasure this guitar.

The set-up was great right out of the box. You can toss the box aside and plug this axe right in. The flame maple top (veneer) with the lemondrop finish is very nice. The finish is a thin nitro finish that is shiny on the neck but more matte-like on the body. The fit and finish are excellent, better than many models costing 2-3 time as much. I like the taper on the volume knobs. A very well put together guitar.

Reliability/Durability : 10
Everything about this guitar seems solid. I can find nothing cheesy in the nickel parts. It feels sturdy and dependable.

no need as of yet.

You can only find them on ebay to the best of my knowledge. They are made in Japan with the G++++N headstock shape by ESP. For $700, you'll be floored. If it were lost or stolen I would by another one ASAP. The feel of the neck and the fretboard will have you playing for hours! I have a Tele (with Lollar pickups) that is wonderful and a Strat with Fralins. But this guy hangs with the best of em'. Edwards LP's are a tremendous bag for the buck. You don't see many and they go fast...don't hesitate.

This guitar is a copy of the '59 gold top. It's a great buy for the money, and actually more accurate than Gibson's current reissues because the neck butts up against the neck pickup after the 22nd fret like the original (the new gibsons are cut off at the 22nd fret). One problem

I play punk rock with heavy rockabilly and country influence in the lead. This guitar gave my sound the solid bottom that I think I'd been lacking with my other guitars. I'm playing it through a Marshall JCM 900 and it gets a great crunch and is silent when you want it to be. This guitar has the vintage les paul tone nailed down.

I bought this used from a friend who had already gotten it set up.

I've had the guitar one month and played 5 shows with it so far. It's held tune great and I play it hard (i.e. its got some dried blood on the body) so I'd say it's pretty solid. You're gonna need strap locks with this guitar though, no question, the only problems i've have were because of the strap coming undone and having to duct tape the strap on mid-performance.

It took me a long time to get over the fact that this guitar isn't a Gibson. I own two Gibson's and had to get over the mental block of seeing another brand on the headstock but am glad I did! would definately buy another.

ESP's guitar label "Edwards" make these beautiful creations. Amazing replica of the 1959 Gibson Les Paul, w/ Seymour Duncan humbuckers (59 in the neck, JB in the bridge). All apointments of the original, only done better. Easily miles beyond the Epiphone disasters, these guitars ARE worth all the hype they've been getting. Brushed chrome metal works, Kluson style tuners. Awsome fret work, incredible inlays, sunburst tobacco finish. Creme pickgaurd, comes off to make her look "lean".

Sounds great, pickups are matched perfectly for this 'Paul. You can play the whole Led Zepp/Black Crowes songbook an never do so much as stomp the channel switching pedal on yer amp. This sounds so much better and plays so much nicer than anything I've seen up to three times it's price. The tone controls on the pick ups each do an amazing job of "taming" wild amps. Makes that Marshall "chunk" just crawl up under yer eye lids.

I can't believe this guitar! Truly better than anything I thought I could ever afford. Feels like a $3,000 gtr in my hands. Heavy, solid, stout. Like you could knock people outta yer way w/ the thing. Rather flat fretboard. Straight lines throughout. The inlays are so much more accurately done than anything Gibson's ever used. Like this whole thing was cut outta giant pieces of guitar candy w/ laser beams from the future guided by people from the past. A telepathic experience, closest thing to God that I'll ever know in my meager existence. The tobacco sunburst finish is like some master's painting, from some long lost studio forgotten to time.

Reliability/Durability : 10
This will last a thousand beers, I would've spent three grand for a guitar this nice in the states. You could chop fish heads on her all day long and she still pound nails well into the night. A monster of a guitar.
