I think mine is a 2005 as the serial number starts with 05 but I can't be sure. It is Made in Japan by ESP. The woods are Alder body with Figured flamed Maple top in the shape of soloist . The neck is a 5 piece maple and walnut laminate with a rosewood board with 24 frets. The Heel has worked to allow easy access to the upper frets. I am not sure of the fingerboard radius but it is pretty flat and feels like a old Jackson maybe a 20" radius.
The Hardware is a genuine original Floyd Rose. The pickups are 2 Seymour Duncan humbuckers in the neck and bridge SH-6n and TB-6b I believe and the middle pickup is a seymour duncan Single coil SSL-2RW I think. There is a single volume and single tone. The Pickups are wired like a Ibanez: bridge, middle & bridge outer coil (hum cancelling), middle, middle & neck outer coil (hum cancelling),neck The machine heads are Gotoh on a reverse headstock.
The Colour is Aqua Blue and the finish is spot on.I can not find a flaw in the finish.
I do not like the reverse headstock, mainly because I am used to a regular headstock and I think they look dumb. But I did not buy it for it's looks.

I always find it hard to rate sound as it is personal thing but here is what I think:
I've got 2 amps I mainly use a Marshall JCM 900 and a 70 something Fender Vibrolux Reverb.
I like to play all types of music, Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Blues just not country.
First up the sustain is really good unplugged, this to me indicates a good fitting neck and quality woods. it had a really clean bright sound unplugged with good definition which is a good start.
Into the Marshall it sounds awesome, even with really high gain settings there is nice clarity without it turning to mush.So you can chug away muting and its nice and tight. I like the neck and bridge best for high gain but the single coil in the middle sounds surprisingly good. For lead it really shines ,I like better than my gibson SG for this.
Plugging into the Fender was a suprise.... the cleans are better than I thought they would be,considering the humbuckers are distortion humbuckers... in fact really good. I have a Fender 63 reissue with US vintage pups, its not as nice as that and you would not expect it to be but its very good. The middle pickup sounds very stratty and the notch positions give that nice strat quack.
Overall it is really versatile but it does really lend itself to rock and metal. I'll give it a 9 as I don't think a 10 exists.

I got it as a new second hand guitar. I put 10's on it and had to adjust the Floyd to compensate for the added tension. But you need to setup a guitar for how you play anyway, I am amazed people buy a new guitar and never set it up for how they play and strings they use. I set the action really low with no buzzing or noting out.
The fretwork is spot on. I really can't fault the finish and woods the attention to detail is excellent.
At first I did not like the colour which is Aqua Blue but that has grown on me. But i personally don;t care much how a guitar looks, as long as it is not pink I guess.

Hard to say as I have only had it a short time, but it looks and feels like it would last a lifetime. all the hardware and pickups are top notch quality. The 5 piece neck should stay straight.
I would never gig without a backup guitar, especially a guitar with a floating bridge break a string and the time to replace it and tune it up and your band will want to kill you.

I have been playing professionally since I was 16 so thats 23 years. I have owned so much crap over the years I could not list it here.
The electrics I currently own are a Fender 63 Reissue and a Gibson 79 SG.
I got this guitar because I wanted a shred guitar again. Years ago I had a Ibanez US custom that I sold to a student a regretted it ever since. I only found out about these looking through Ebay which lead to more investigation.
I looked at the Ibanez's again but I think these are considerably better.
The Japansese really make awesome guitars especially for the money. I suspect that with the advent of purchasing from the Internet and Ebay we will see a lot more of these type of guitars making their way to English speaking countries.
Feel free to email me if you want any further details.
