Les Paul Type guitar, lacquer top, overall great finish, bone nut, Duncan Pups, neck between 50ies and 60ies, good hardware, great finish, aged yellowish binding. EBONY fretboard. Try and get that from Gibson.
I took out the JB bridge pickup and went for a SD-59, made both coil-splittable with push-push pots on tone.
Very resonant, good weight, not too heavy.
All you can expect from a Les Paul guitar. Long tenon neck. Okay, get a custom shop or '57 RI, and it's included. LOL

My best sounding Les Paul ever. That's it. I sold my '94 Classic a while ago. The two '59 give it an open, airy sound, complex and very alive. Cuts through the mix like a knife though warm butter.
Sustain, attack all you want, warm to aggressive all depending on how you play it.

Flawless! I gigged it out the box, can you believe it. Intonation, strings everything great.

I have gigged this guitar. Are you kidding, it's made for gigging.
The finish (lacquer) is meant to wear off. Ages nicely. Neck, frets and fretboard hold up nicely.
I depend on this guitar, for sure.

I have been playing for over 20 years, I own several guitars, Les Pauls, ES-335, Stratocasters, Gordon Smith I own Fender, Rivera and Ampeg Amps.
I prefer this guitar over current Tokai, Gibson models. It has become my fav guitar for gigging. Great player, very flexible tonally with the coil split option.

simply amazing, i owned a few US Gibson LP's, standard and custom,
this MIJ LP custom sounds better, a lot of vintage vibes, nearly of early 70's LP custom
comes with a SD SH1 on neck and SH4 on bridge, before buy it i know i don't like the SH4 JB pu, i've never liked this pu, i changed it for a Gibson '57 classic plus and now it's one guitar of my dreams (with a '93 Gibson LP special '55 reissue TV yellow with Bare Knuckle P90 set)
the sound is deep with a lot of sustain, i play in a 70's like heavy rock band and this LP is perfect for my needs

i play since i was 13 and i'm 38 years old now, many gigs all over Europe with studio sessions for 3 albums
i play my guitars on Marshall super lead plexi
i would buy it again if stolen or lost
i love everyting on it (with the classic '57 pu on bridge position)
when i bought it, i compared with a Gibson Custom-Shop '59 reissue, the Gibson has anything more than this Edwards LP
i'm proud to play this guitar, it's a real rock'n'roll guitar
shame on US guitars company, you pay only the name on headstock

This is a LES-PAUL CUSTOM Black Beauty. This model either comes in White or Black thats it. The guitar is a Nitro top finish. The neck is a Long Neck Tenon like the older 50's LPs by Gibson. The dual humbuckers are Seymour Duncans 59-neck, JB-Bridge. The Fretboard is Ebony with Mother Of Pearl Block Inlays on the neck starting at the first fret. Body is Multi Bound on Top-7 layers Black/White, Multi-Bound on Back 5 layers Black/White. Single Bound Neck and a Multi-Bound Headstock again with 5-layers. Neck is cross between a 60 profile Gibson and a 59 profile Gibson. So its sort of on the thick side but not HUGH. All the hardware is deluxe Gotoh GOLD Plating and hold up very well. The Tuning Machines [Gotoh] are 18:1 ratio and work flawless. Body and Neck are Mahogany and the Carved Top is Hard Maple. The guitar is built as GOOD if not better than any USA Gibson I own and have ever played. I own a few to date. The Quality Control definatly exceeds Gibsons. These guitars are put together FLAWLESS.
BTW the bridge on these are a GOTOH copy of Gibsons ABR-1. I notice complaints below about the skinny posts, Thats what ABR-1 Bridges are..Botton Line. Most that have played all of Gibsons bridge's will tell you the ABR-1 is their Best Bridge. So naturally this is the route Edwards/ESP chose to go. The Stop-Tail is also a Light Gotoh Gold plated. Three way is a very sturdy Blade again same as Gibson. The potentiometers on the Edwards are actually better then Gibsons. Neck radius I believe is a 12. Headstock is the open book Gibson design with EDWARDS instead of Gibson logo and headstock insignia in Moter of Pearl. A very very sweet guitar. The Edwards Les-Paul CUSTOM is NOT a weight relieved Les-Paul. Mine weighs 9-1/2lbs. Which is considered an excellent weight for a Les-Paul.

Simply awesome, the Seymour Duncan 59/JB set are both Alnico 5 magnets, they are 4-lead pick-ups with Zebra bobbins Black/White. I actually like this look better than Gibsons Gold Plated. But Edwards also offers this model with Gold Coverd Duncans too.
The Alnico V Duncans are able to go from a very Clean Edgy, Raw Tone, to a very nice Over Drive tone loaded with Harmonics. These are my favorite Seymour Duncan pick-ups and they are very versitile and sound wonderfull clean. They are so balanced, with no microfonics and full of dynamics. Great pick-ups. Beautifull Tone!

Does not get any better than Edwards. These guitars are detailed so wonderfully its amazing. It sad that I have buy a MIJ built electric because Gibson USA can no longer produce guitars of this quality. I bought this guitar sight unseen and unplayed. I wouldn't buy a Gibson like that. I have searched the Edwards frm top to bottom and i cannot find a flaw! Spectacular craftsmanship. Action and fret-work is so-good the stings actually had to raised by me. Te action was too low for my liking? When do you ever see that? The frets are perfectly rounded and polished and every single end filed and polished perfectly. Far cry from Gibsons Block frets.

These Les-Pauls are becoming more and more popular. As the prices of Gibson soars its just becoming very evident they simply are not worth the money. If they were building guitars as they were in the 50's and early 60's I could see buying one.
I have been playing for close to 40 years now. I own three Gibson Les-Pauls a few other models also, many Fenders, and a few Hamers. I play through my 67 Twin Reverb that I have owned since 67. I would say I have played a FEW guitars over the years.
These Edwards MIJ Les-Paul Customs easily compete with anything built in the USA today. Why us guitar companies contiue to raise the price and decrease the quality is a shame. Fortunatly I am pretty set with my collection. But its a wonder younger players are seeking out MIJ electrics today? Many of them are very very well built. The MIJ Ibanez are spectacular also as well as Tokai. and others and the price's are still affordable. The Edwards Les paul Custom is a LOT og guitar for the money. You can lose with this one. And the retain their value?
