Features : 9
2004 made in Japan, 22 frets, SG replica mahogany body and neck, ebony finger board, whitish/yellowish nitro finish, gold hardware tunamatic and pickup covers, 3 Seymour Duncan passive humbuckers - 59 neck, JB bridge and middle. Gotoh tuners.

Sound : 9
Neck pickup sounds great. I don't usually use my neck pickups, but this sounds so clear I love to use it. The middle pickup setting sounds strat like. I don't know if the pickup is on by itself or if it is out of phase with the bridge. It comes in handy sometimes. The bridge pickup is a JB and very clear and articulate.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
The neck wobbles. It is annoying. I've played other SGs that do this too. I guess it is an inherent design flaw. Stilll, I wish they would have corrected it.

The Edwards SGs use the early seventies style neck joint so that the neck is straight to the body, NOT angled back like a typical Gibson. I prefer the angled-back style to the straight style.

Tuners work well, but I have to tune the string UP. On my other guitars I can get away with tuning the string down if I am sharp. but with the edwards, I can't or else it won't stay in tune. I have to make sure to tune down beneath my desired pitch and then come up. I have Gotoh tuners on my Danelectro and i can simply tune down, so I'm not sure if it is the fault of the tuners or maybe its something else? Anyway I would like to try different tuners at some point in this guitar.

Paint job and finish is immaculate and very beautiful. Gold finish on the pickup covers quickly rubbed off due to my picking. Looks kind of cool though. Ebony fretboard and inlays look gorgeous.

Reliability/Durability : 7
Guitar seems solid but SGs are delicate, and this one has that neck wobble, so I've had to adjust my playing technique to stay in tune. I'd gig without a back up but I'd prefer better tuners.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I bought it on eBay since you can't get these in America. Edwards is made by ESP Japan.

Overall Rating : 7
I don't think SGs are for me. I think I feel more comfortable on Les Pauls. This guitar sounds great, the SD pickups and electronics are great. I also have a U.S. PRS CE-22, a korean Dillion LP copy, a korean Danelectro CD-59 pro, and a Gibson SG-I. This Edwards has the best rock tone of all my guitars. More character and mojo than the PRS. The Gibson only sounds good for metal but the Edwards cleans up much better. The Dillion has a filtertron in the bridge I use for rockabilly and the Dano has its own sound.

My beef with this guitar is the stability. The neck wobble really annoys me. I've got guitars I paid $200 dolalrs for that stay intune better than this. The other beef I have with this guitar is the tuners. If I'm sharp I have to tune way down and then come up. I don't have to do this on my other guitars.

I have a nice American PRS that has great build quality but kind of lacks mojo. the Japanse edwards has nice quality but has the neck wobble which sucks. I have to say in all honesty I prefer my korean guitars, the dillion and the danelectro. Unique tones and plus they are very stable. maybe they are made of cheaper materials but so what. I've had them for 5 years and they don't let me down.

I think I bought the Edwards because of teh hype I've heard over the amazing Japanese quality. I wouldn't buy another one of their SGs because of the neck wobble. I would try an Edwards Les Paul.
