All four knobs are push/pull, giving lots of different tonal possibility just like JP's guitar!

Sounds great! I have a les paul, and edwards sounds way better.
Just like to caution people about the bogus reviewer like the one below me. Don't believe anything he says! He claimed that he has played all these wonderful instrument that probably cost more than $5,000 each , but settling on a modest $900 guitar???
First time he played a good "USA" les paul (that made him creamed his pants) was in a small town 'Ma & 'Pa Music Store, but plugged into his own Marshall?? What you lug your amp around everywhere you go so you can try all the "good" guitars in every 'Ma & 'Pa Music Store??
I wonder if you actually played a les paul before? It is muddy you know!

new (2008 I believe)
Typical Les Paul Appointments and Features.
Passive Seymour Duncan Pickups
Mahogany Body, Thin Maple Cap, Laminated "Flame Burst." (Very close to page's #1 - from what I've seen in pictures and on youtube).
Old Style Lacquer/Nitro Finish.
Aged Binding and body - Hardware is not aged however
Cheap electronics. Think Gotoh Tuners (not as sturdy as 18:1 Grovers).
Came with Straplocks already installed and Truss Rod tool.
No gig bag or case from dealer (in japan) which was a little disappointing.

Sound : 9
Before Mods it was a 7 or 8.
After Mods it's a 9.

Let me say I have an EXTREMELY nice LP Standard to compare this too. I'll get on my soapbox for a minute and say this, too: all Gibsons are NOT created equal. Just because you pay the 2,000+ for an LP online, or walk into a music store and pull the prettiest one off the wall, doesn't mean you're going to end up with a good LP. You need to search, and play, and search some more... and when you find a good one, you know - immediately. My #1 LP was such a find (it took me about 3 years of patient searching though). During that time I got my hands on a '77 LP, a Guitar Center '60 RI, a Custom Historic '58, a Murphy aged '59 RI, and a '57 Goldtop RI. All of them were drop-dead gorgeous, however, non of them really felt inspiring when I was plucking the strings; they felt better hanging on a wall than in my hands. First time my #1 (a normal LP Standard model that caught my eye) into my 1987x Marshall, at a normal, small town 'Ma & 'Pa Music Store though, I wanted to cry. THAT'S how a good USA Gibson LP makes you feel - it inspires you. So, I'm not going to get all dramatic and say this Edwards is "better than a gibson" like so many other people out there, because it's just not. Is it good? yes. Better than a good Gibson? NO!

That being said, this guitar is JUST AS GOOD, if not better, than some of the mediocre Paul's I've played. Studios, Classics, R7,8, and 9's... It is just as good as the run of the mill gibson. The electronics are a little cheesy, and there's a HUGE difference between the muddy neck p'up and the HOT bridge p'up (the middle position doesn't sound anything like page's therefore)... but I REALLY like this guitar... it just feels good in your hands - like how a good Tele feels, it just "fits." The neck is a pleasure to play, the frets are superb, and the string spacing and action let you confidently play the blues with proper feel on vibrato. The Nitro finish has a wonderful feel to it; it smells and feels like a vintage, well-played guitar should. And just like finding a killer pair of jeans, or a cheap bite to eat that blows your socks off, that's how this guitar feels - It's A LOT of bang for the buck. It's like turning in a lottery ticket, or getting something great on sale.

The mods I did was install Wolfetone P'ups, RS Guitarworks Wiring, Grover tuners, and a real Nickel bridge/tail-piece (about $500). That may sound like a lot, but now I can honestly say that this guitar is better than the average R9's I've played (most around 3600!). However, like I said, a good USA gibson, made on the right day, with the right wood, still blows THIS thing (Edwards) out of the water. I'm sorry, but the legend still lives, despite some great guitars coming out of Japan, the great guitars coming out of Gibson are worth the extra cash (if you have it!).

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Came setup and intonated just as well as any USA Paul.

Reliability/Durability : 8
not sure yet. Looks and feels solid though.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Not sure.

Overall Rating : 9
Overall a great guitar at a great price. I am very happy with my purchase and I love having a backup LP that's as good as average USA Gibson quality at a fraction of the price.

I'm also a HUGE Jimmy Page/Led Zeppelin fan, and since I can NEVER justify spending 5,000+ on a real Pagey LP, This thing fits the bill perfectly.

Rock On!!

Mine does not have the Super circuit, weighs around nine pounds, Gotoh hardware all nitro aged & reliced finish on body but not on hardware ??? thin neck profile and smaller frets
typical Les paul features, long neck tenon, aged sunburst flame maple top (According to a japaneese website the flametop is a thin veneer) and Seymour Duncan Pickups.

Sound : No Opinion
Sound is subjective but I have A Gibson 04, 1959 R9 reissue that I will use as a benchmark
in Stock form the guitar had Seymour duncan 59 PAF in the Neck and aSH 5 Custom with Ceramic magnet in the bridge. after tuning and playing in my 68 plexi with my usual Les paul Settings I thought what the hell did I do ??? this thing is a peace of crap.....I read many great reviews about these guitars before I ordered the guitar.... this Les paul did not sound anything like a Les paul, the sound was dark and was too compressed this was due to the Seymour Duncan Pickups . Acoustically the guitar sounded clear but was not as loud as it should have been compared to the real Deal. I did some reasearch and replaced all the hardware wiring and pickups. I put Gold Grover rotomatic tuners like the Page model is supposed to have, and replaced the stop bar with a Gotoh light weight aluminum stopbar and tone pros locking studs. ( this made the biggest difference to the sound of this guitar, it totally opened up the sound of this guitar and doubled the volume of the acoustic sound of the guitar. ( a highly recommended upgrade since these guitars do not typically have the mass of a real Gibson)
I gutted the pickups pots and wiring and replaced everything, Edwards uses the cheapest components on the planet.... the pickups were replaced with WCR Crossroads/Darkburst combo set Crossroads in the neck Darkburst in the Bridge. WCR pickups are handwound
pickups, completely incredible pickups I am concidering replacing the pickups in my gibson with these pickups they are that good. the wiring was from RS Guitarworks CTS custom taper pots and Luxe Bumblebee Capicitors, a switchcraft Pickup selector switch with the proper vintage pushback wiring wored to the original 1956 to 1960 spec.

In Stock form this guitar was really bad , Modified it is a whole different animal

I was impressed with the construction of the guitar, I purchased the guitar from japan, right out of the box the guitar held the tuning and intonation was perfect.

I don't understand the matte nitro finish on the back of the guitar, the neck had the same finish. The neck felt rough and needed sanding with 2000 and 3000 grit to smooth out the finish on the neck. If the guitar is supposed to be a Page replica the finish on the back of the guitar is too dark, and the relic job seems to be done first and then cleared over. the hardware is new and not aged..........

The Cave of the top seems to be different than the original Gibson Les Paul especially around the edge of the guitar the carve seems too deep.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I don't foresee any problems with the construction of the guitar

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A Edwards is ESP I suppose I could contact them but I probably void the warranty when I replaced all the electronics.

Overall Rating : 5
I purchased this guitar to play a Les Paul when I play out, Historic Les Pauls are getting too expensive to take out anymore........ unless you want to hire an armed guard to watch the guitar all the time.

The Edwards Les Paul has potential but IMO, unless you are willing to highly modify this guitar I would pass on the Edwards Jimmy Page Les Paul, the cost of my modifications was
$ 560.00 almost half the cost of the guitar just to get it to really sound like a Les Paul
my modifications to the Edwards guitar will give my R9 a run for its money but 1400 is an expensive gamble for sight unseen

Japan built, reliced to look like Jimmy Page's old LP, colour is like a cherry sunburst darkened by age, flame maple top. Two SeymourDuncuns (SH-1 neck, SH-5 bridge), light for a LP - 3.5 kg. Medium thick neck. Comes with an ESP gigbag. For me it looks exactly like a Les Paul should. This one does not have the super circuit, just ordinary pickup switching.

Sound : 9
Firstly: I'm not a really LesPaul/humbucker player, I prefer single coil guitars. I've had 4 LP's before but realized that I love the looks but the sound is not for me - this will of course affect my ratings...
Unplugged it has a bit snappier sound than the LP's I had before - which suits me well. Still a woody midrange. Of the two SD pickups the SH-1 in the neck does the job well, cool vintage sounds. The bridge pickup SH-5 is too hot and dark for my taste, so I changed it to a BareKnuckle "The Mule", which is more moderate vintage output that pairs well with SH-1. The plugged in sound is still a bit snappier than the other LP's I had, and that works in my advantage. Still fat LP tones. Both pickups has coil split option, so I might install push-pull pots later.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The looks is really why I bought this guitar, if I should ever get another LP it should look like Jimmy Pages'! And this one does!
When I first got it I thought bendings felt a bit rough. But I oiled up the fretboard and now when I've played for a while it has really loosened up, now it plays effortlessly and I think it will only get better.

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
Just as good as a Gibby

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
As I'm not really a LesPaul player I will not give full rate, but a nine is as good as any LP will get from me. For me this is the way a LP should look, my other option would be to find a Gibson JP model, and they are waaayyy to expensive (even though I'm sure they're great guitars).
It stays perfectly in tune for a whole gig, never needed to retune it, which is more than I can say about my earlier Gibson LP's.
For price/performance only, it would get a 10! This is a great guitar at this price. The looks and feel are top notch.
If you're not to concerned about the logo, consider this one when buying a LesPaul! It's far more than a poor man's JimmyPageLesPaul...

Mahagony with a thick maple Top and laminated tigerstripe Maple Top. Nice and thick 50ties neck, well playable. Jimmy Page Cricuit for versatile Sounds. The whole guitar is in a relic finish and lokks just great this way. I love that relic finish and it looks very much like custom shop work. Pickups are a SD SH1 (neck) and a SD SH5 (bridge), sounding very much like vintage, just as I wanted. It came in a Gigbag from ESP directly from Japan, Straplocks included! Only that saddle is made from plastic, I will get a new one made of bone soon. Plus some locking tuners cause Ill take this beauty to my gigs...

Sound : 10
Fat rich and tasty vintage Sounds. Coils Split and Phasing included. It does very Strat like sounds and fat Les Paul Rock. Just great! I had a Gibson Les Paul before...forget it!

Mahogany and light - could be chambered which does give it a semi acoustic sound, much richer. Seymours are great here.Maple cap I'd guess is thinner than Gibson but who cares at this price? Aged whitr binding well done. Correct headstock for year. A 10 for features.

This is a relic'd Jimmy Page model with push pull pots for out of phase/single coil options. I bought this and SOLD MY GIBSONS. These are very good guitars and are lightweight with a nice chunky 50's neck. Frankly, dont buy a Gibson unless that logo really means that much to you, these are incredible. The Duncans in single coil mode do tele easy and makes this a very versatile instrument indeed. I am not a Les Paul fan but this knocks me out and other mates with $4K Gibsons get dirty when they hear it. Extraordinarily resonant. 9 because I dont know what a 10 is, I adore it.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
Top notch overall, nice natural aging, even the pickup cover an other metal parts. Scarily close to a 59 Gibson. Well set up, one piece mahogany neck, very light compared to Gibbos.

Reliability/Durability : 9
Yeah, no need for back up here. Stays in tune. Gotoh tuners which I replaced with Grovers (no drilling), just personal taste. Comes with strap locks.Finish is worn looking (ie not glossy) and any more dings wont make any difference! A great staage axe.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had the need, but ESP make these and I'd guess it's good.

Overall Rating : 9
Playing 30 years, would buy again in a heartbeat - kind of rare. Compared it to Gibbos of course. Orville also are good but this has the split coils (no crap active circuit like the Gibbo Jimmy Page which is in my opinion dreadful).
