This is an acoustic guitar with looks reminiscent of some of the curvier Gibsons. It has 19 frets, and dot inlas at the 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th frets. It is a solid Spruce top with mahogany sides and back, which seems to be common woth El Deagas acoustics. It has no pickup, but I intend to put one in soon. he finish on it is a warm, golden colour and is very pleasing. The stock tuners are surprisingly good, and I only have to really retune it every week or so. 25 1/2" scale with a rather wider nut and no neck cambre. It is very comfortable to play, however. The only real problem with it is that mine didn't come with a case!

Sound : 9
I play alot of rock styles, and with this guitar's incredibly srong sound, I look forward to putting a pickup in it and going the "Unplugged" route. The sound is full at all frets, but it does buzz a little on the lower strings after the 11th or so fret.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I'd say this guitar is well set up. It has a few rather serious nicks on the back, but with a guitar that's as old as this one, that's hard to avoid

Reliability/Durability : 9
This guitar is solidly built, and I'd definitely use it on stage if it had a pickup. However, the bridge was almost completely lifted off when I got it, but since I got it fixed it plays quite well. I'd expect it to last for years to come.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't need customer support, plus I don't think there is one anymore.

Overall Rating : 9
I've been playing for about 7 years and owned a Gibson J-185 acoustic before this one and I believe that the El Degas sounds just as good, if not better than the Gibson. If this guitar were stolen or lost I'd hardly think twice about getting another one. This is a very solid guitar and if you happen to see one and buy it, you won't regret it.
