Bought this one from my buddy John after I left Donbravado, it's a '74 (I think) with the basic setup found here: http://www.rivercityamps.com/electra/2256.php
3-way switch, 2 humbuckers... one replaced w/ a hotwired jeff beck. It's a really beautiful guitar with "Jacaranda Rosewood" laminate.
Typical LP style overall, tune-o-matic bridge.
Basically looks exactly like the one in the link except for the humbucker, black pickguard, and John replaced the tuners with Schaller locking tuners. I wired the Jeff Beck straight into the volume knob, so there's no tone or switch option for me right now. But that's how I like it. Original case too!
Gets an 8, cause it's just a regular LP setup to start.
Sound

Well the Jeff Beck makes the sound, so I guess it's a 10?
Haven't really used any other sound options otherwise.
Action, Fit, & Finish

As good of action as my '79 Strat. Which is good. A little buzz on certain frets, but that doesn't bother me.

Stay in tune when I run around on stages like an idiot and fall over. The gold plated hardware will tarnish off just like any other guitar would, no big deal. Yeah I played probably 20 shows with it, so it's good to go. But keep in mind the Schallers make a difference.
Customer Support
:
No Opinion
SLM is still around (Ampeg, Crate, etc.) but I doubt they'd help. It's a bolt neck LP, so any guitar shop can fix whatever you need.

This is my 2nd favorite guitar next to my Strat, but I also bought another Electra (2242) which plays just as well. Electras are, in my opinion, the best Jap guitars of the 70's, pretty much the same as the Ibanez's of that era. If you can get one for around $250 or less, get it!
