I bought the guitar used, it's a '78 model. The 22 fret neck is perfect, and very rigid. Mine has the Phase Shifter and the Power Overdrive, like most. It has volume, tone, and the baritone switch. I still use the original pickups, but may soon replace them with P-90's. Also, the finish on the pickups has begun to wear away in a few spots. The body is mohagany, thinline, and moves a lot of air. Unplugged, this is a very loud guitar, but wont feed back easily. I have the red-brown sunburst, which still looks excellent after more than 20 years.

I like to play a lot of jazz and funk, and this instrument is well suited for it. I player Tele thinlines, Rickenbackers, and Epiphones, and this guitar upstaged all of them. It has a very rich tone, and can easily acheive a more nasaly tone using the baritone switch. I love the tone so much, and the guitar is very easy to play, even using 12's.
Action, Fit, & Finish

This guitar is very well made, though the action is a bit high. I don't mind it, but when other people play they complain. I also use much heavier strings than my friends, so it may just be that.

I have no idea how durable this guitar is. It must be, since it is in such great shape after all the years, but I take very good care of it. The finish is impermeable. I have put it down on hard surfaces a bit rougher than planned, but it shows no signs of wear on the paint job. Once, the Phase Shifter stopped working, so I would be inclined to buy a separate unit if I was doing a show.

I've been playing for five years, and up until now I haven't forked out the cash for such a fine instrument as this. I was prepared to spend over $1000, but this guitar played and sounded better than all of the more expensive models. If anyone has any effects modules to sell, please email me! (djcmix2@aol.com)

I have had this guitar since 1979 and I have not seen anything as well built as this guitar. It has a rosewood neck with lots of abalone, the Electra peace sign, two MPC modules (Phase Shifter and Power Overdrive) which still works. This guitar has a maghony solid body which is heavy just the way I like it. This MPC has some wear on it but could pass as one to two years old.

This Electra MPC has a deep rich tone. I have replaced the humbuckles with Duncans and I run it through a Marshall mdg80 amp. Of course I kept the original pickups. You can get a heavy crunch to smooth mellow blues on this guitar and it sounds great. I am currently looking for the other modules that could be bought for this guitar. If anyone has these and wish to sell them, working or not please email me at DoctorBoston@aol.com.

I would compare this guitar to a tank. It would take alot to hurt this baby. As with the action, this is a very easy guitar to play, smooth Les Paul type neck. The finish is a beautiful deep brownish red mahgony with plenty of clear coat.

I have play this guitar in bars and backyards. I have always tried to take care of it making sure nothing gets spilled on it or scatched but accidents do happen. But all in all this guitar has held up strong. I have had no major problems other than normal maintance.
