This Electra Strat-copy was made in Japan. I bought the guitar from
a pawn shop for 80 bucks in Hollywood near Western Ave and Santa Monica Bl.(this a year before the pawn shop was destroyed during the 92" L.A. Riot). It was a hard tail model and it was Cream/White color
with Brass bridge, nut, neck plate and electronic plate. It has 2 stock
humbuckers(black) with seperate volume and tone controls. The volume
controls for each P/U provide coil taps when you pull them up.

The neat thing was that the strings were inserted thru the body like
on a Tele. There was also a 3 way LP-style switch in the upper bout
of guitar.

I rehearshed with this guitar during my college days and I played it
through my Fender Princeton Chorus Amp. Around this time (1991) The
Blues bug bit me BIG TIME and this guitar had a great sound.

Looks like Electra was going with the Les Paul vibe on a Strat Body
which is what you only see now on PRS and Hamer Guitars. I found my
self wanting to have the bridge routed out for a Locking Tremolo System. But it would be a $300.00 investment.

This guitar is great for classic rock, blues, metal, etc. But I think
If I were gigging with a band, I would play another guitar for "live"
like the Dean Z88 that I had in 1990(see that report) stage and use this guitar for recording and such. I had this guitar until I acquired
the Ibanez Les Paul copy(see ibanez section) in late 1994. I would add
better P/U's like Duncan

Electras are not in business anymore and I think most imported guitars
are made by Samick and or Epiphone in Korea or Japan.

I would like to point out that TONE is in the fingers, heart and soul.
I don't fault a guy for buying a 400-1,000 buck guitar. BUT PLAY IT,
DON'T LET IT SIT AROUND AND DON'T PUT IT IN THE CLOSET. I HATE COLLECTORS!!!. If I had my way, I would have gone the route of
EVH did in the mid-late 70's.
