This model is a late 1970's X-120, also known as the Leslie West model since the guitarist endorsed and used the guitar during that time. The guitar features a mahogany body with a mahogany neck with a black bound rosewood board. Set neck construction and the huge neck make this a sustain monster! I have the Phase shifter and Frog modules with the guitar. The rear pickup has been replaced with a vintage Bill Lawrence humbucker. Made in Japan and it is a fine guitar which I had been searching for many years.

The guitar gets that classic humbucker sound and especially sounds great through my Legend Rock n Roll 50 combo. I have no complaints about the sound.

The guitar has the fit and finish of a professional grade instrument which the Electra MPC guitars were. They were not cheap when new and the Leslie West model is lightweight and well put together. The routes for the pickups are neat and clean and the wiring for the electronics are very clean and well shielded.

The guitar is over 20 years old and still looks and sounds great. Electra brand is long gone but these are quickly becoming more than just a curiosity. Vintage Guitar magazine had a great article on the MPC guitars a few months ago. I can depend on this guitar and it is the only electric I own.

Not applicable since the Electra MPC guitars have not been made since the early 1980's. The guitars are very reliable from what I've seen and the modules are still available used from various dealers. They made 11 modules I believe.

I'm a bass player, so this guitar is getting me more involved in playing lead guitar. I could only replace this guitar with another just like it but that would be difficult as they appear to be rare. My favorite features are the modules and that Leslie West was associated with the guitar.
