This looks like a black LP, has 2 humbuckers. nice detail to the craftsmanship and there is a quality about the guitar that you just don't see in sub-$600 guitars today.
This guitar has alot of features. It has the Vari-Tone switch which will get you very many usable tones throughout the sweep of the control.
Also has 2 toggle switches on the body, when combined with the 5 way switch makes for a very multi-tones instrument.
It has passive electronics, and my only complaint is that the pickups are slightly microphonic. No big problem at lower volume levels but at gigging levels its feedback city. But I have noticed the pickups are responsive enough that you can get the good feedback as well.

I get classic LP tones out of this for crunchy rock, and the cleans really go from one end of the spectrum to the other due to the 5way rotary switch. If I needed a guitar for cleans only, I would definately think about this. No fender vibe, but almost a 50s-60s sparkley thing going on, and so many variations with the controls
As far as the overall tones it really sounds like you would want an LP-shaped guitar to sound. I would consider the stock pickups equal in quality to stock gibbys - other than the microphonic deal. I did remove them and pot the pickups and the microphonic problem is gone!

This guitar has damage to the headstock which was repaired but I did get it used and its more than 25 years old so go figure.
other than that I will say it was crafted very well, its a solid guitar with a solid quality to the feel. The little peace signs on the tuners are kind of hip as well.
Like I mentioned there is a level of overall quality that is hard to find without spending more than $600

Its held up this long but I dont know how the headstock was damaged (im guessing a drop, since the repaired headstock has given me NO tuning problems whatsoever) - so I cant comment here
Ive had it about a year and its been damn solid, I can say that

If you can find one of these pick it up, thats all I can really say. It rivals some of my finer "LPs" ive had in the past. I have heard that the microphonic pups are common which leads me to believe they just didnt take time when sealing it up during the waxxing/potting process.
Everyone who did dip the pups and do it right said all problems were gone. So the microphonic pickup problem aside - great guitar.
But the pickups are no problem playing clean or even full on crunch up to a certain volume level- but when you get really loud watch out. You can tell they are damn good pickups which sound great and after a good dip there are no more problems to speak of
