My Dad worked at St. Louis Music company and some how got his hands on the prototype. It was made in about 1975. It has a 5 selector and 2 volume and 2 tone knobs. It has 2 humbuckers 1 open faced and 1 silver plated. It has a thin neck that has a rosewood fretboard. It has almost the excact design of a gibson les paul custom and also has active tone modules.

This guitar has the perfect sound for almost any type of music. I mainly use it classic and hard rock. The heavy body gives it a very warm sound. The best thing about this guitar is that it will sustain for days.

This guitars action is the most amazing sight I have ever seen. The action is lower then all of my guitars including a 1961 Gibson SG and 3 Strats. It is very old so it obviously has some wear but still looks great.

My dad used this guitar for 15 years on the road. The finish on the bridge is totally worn off, but is not bad for 30 years. Whenever I gig this is my main axe and hasn't failed me yet.

Electra MPC 310X so its black. Made in Japan 1978, maple cap and back like Gibson LP Custom and set neck with rosewood neck. Other features are brass nut, effect modules, abalone inlays, 5-way tone switch. Also offset headstock although have an older X310 (76) with symmetrical headstock and ebony fretboard with slim-tapered neck that equals this guitar. Tuners are cool too.

Heavy, beefy, warm, with exceptional clean tone, especially with the effect modules they add a vintage presence. I really like the treble booster, Fuzz module, and flanger. Very Cool stuff.

The guitar action is perfect for me and it came that way. Like I said I have two of them and the action is perfect! Play one and you'll see what I mean. Its over 23 years old so there is the usual wear.

The guitar is over 23 years old and in very excellent condition. Haven't had a chance to gig with it but I'm pretty sure it will hold up just fine.

Electra is still in business but in terms of MPC support I don't think there are any reps who could help but you never know.

I have been playing on and off for about 20 years but very much within the last couple years. I can't say enough positive things about this guitar. You have to play one to see how nice these guitars are. In my opinion they equal if not surpass Gibson LP from the same era. I guess thats why Gibson sued them. I have two of them so if one were stolen I would still buy another.

I purchased my 310 inKansas City area in 2000. I paid 100.00 in which I think it is worth 800.00. Looks great, and man sounds great. I have the phaser and distortion module, which I never use. It has a thin neck and fast action fretboard. I rate is as good a guitar as the former Gibson L. P. Custom I had. The date of manufacture is 1981. Darrell Woods
