Set maple neck, 2 open coil humbuckers, 5-way rotary pickup selector, bridge pickup coils splitter plus two at a time interchangeable onboard effect modules (12 available). Gold hardware includes stop tail/tune-o-matic and quality Electra branded tuners.
Most of these have a laminated top, but who cares...it looks, feels and plays great! Mine is a 1981 model (they were made from c1981-c1983).

Great rock guitar that cleans up nicely. I like these pickups better than he late 70's ones Electra used on their MPC guitars. Plug this baby in to a tube amp and you're happening :-)
These are slightly brighter than a Les Paul standard. Partly due to the maple neck/rosewoon fretboard as well as the pickups.
Action, Fit, & Finish

The action, fit and finish of these babies really give Gibsons of the same vintage a run for their money. These MNatsomoku made Electra's were some of the finest guitars Japan EVER produced.

These guitars were built for the long run. 25 years and counting and it still shines in daily use!

Saint Louis Music dropped the Electra line in 1984 in favour of Westone. The guys at SLM were pretty helpful up until a few years ago when I heard they were told by the higher ups not to spend any time on supporting dead lines of guitars. Guess their deffiniton of "Lifetime Warranty" is about 20 years :-)
Seriously though, the people at SLM are good people and realisticly you just can't expect them to support a line of guitars they stopped making 22 years ago.

The entire Electra MPC line in my opinion, is one of the best used guitar values available. I've been watching the prices of these steadily going up since about 1999 and see no end in this trend.
