I own an Emperador Model E-200 which was manufactured in Japan by Kawai/Teisco in 1968. The E-200 is the Emperador equivalent of the Gibson 335. I paid $425.OO for it in May, 2008. One on e-bay sold for $739.00 in May as well. These guitars are certainly collectors' items. This is one of the sweetest guitars I have ever played. The action is perfect. It has a Bigsby style tremolo with two humbuckers. It has individual volume and tone controls and a three way selector switch. Everything on my guitar is original and I prefer to keep it that way. Mine is a beautiful red sunburst finish. They were manufactured in red sunburst, yellow sunburst, green sunburst, natural, red, and white.

Fullest accoustic sound of any hollow body I have ever played. Electrically it is a dream as well. The tone controls give a full range of tone and strum location provides impressive range as well.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 10
The guitar is almost 40 years old and the neck is as true as the day it was manufactured. The double bound rosewood fretboard has big rectangular pearl position markers. Again this is a sweet looking guitar!

Reliability/Durability : 10
Everything is original on this guitar and there are no flaws after almost 40 years!

This guitar is a true collectors' item. If you find one, buy it for that reason alone. However, the guitar is a gem and it is a pleasure to play.

this is one good looking 335 copy.It has 22 frets, dual humbuckers with the 2 volume and 2 tone controls as well as 3 way switch. it has a bigsby style tailpiece with a tuneomatic bridge. The very thin neck has a rosewood fretboard. The original tuners were reasonable in quality but I changed them to Gotohs in the early 80's. It has an attractive sunburst finish which has held up since I bought it new in November 1969. I picked this guitar over a Fender mustang and I've had no regrets in the last 33 years!

I've always played mainly blues based rock and this guitar suits that style. I play mainly straight into my 67 Princeton Reverb but will run thru a compressor and Marshall Guv'nor if I need more gain at a lower volume. The guitar is very warm as compared to my Ibanez Artist Super Edition "f" hole as well as my SBG200 Yamaha. It's pretty much a one sound guitar but worked well for years for me on stage.

I cannot remember how this guitar was setup, it's great now. I had to shim up the neck at the back to increase the angle relative to the body and now I run 10-46's on it and it plays nice. The finish is very good for the era and the price..it is after all a copy. The only hardware issue I've had is the tuners and recently the original 3 way switch had to be replaced. Nice looking wood under the sunburst, can't make out what type it is though.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I won't gig with this anymore, I used it for slide for years but the value to me has grown to the point that it barely leave the house anymore. It's all in good shape especially appearance wise. I see no end in sight for it. The finish has faded into a rich sunburst, I get lots of comments from people when it comes out. It is still suitable for pro gigging and I feel it wouldn't require another backup, other than to get a different sound.

I fixed all problems myself....where is the company anyhow???

I got my 1st Hohner in 1963 and have not stopped since. I own a USA Tele and Strat, an Ibanez Artist "f" hole,an SBG200 Yahamha,A 70's Harmony Lespaul with Dimarzio's,a "REd Label" yamaha FG550 12 string, an Ovation Legend and a 60's Yamaki 6string, as well as a P-Bass copy. I just love this guitar as it is the 1st electric I got my hands on. It's got a thin neck and body and is very comfortable in everyway. It's no Gibson but it is a good guitar on it's own.
