one of the greatest sounding guitars I have ever owned. It suits my style of rock very well sounds great for Stone Sour, Shinedown, and other acustic songs of the genre.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar looked great. the action on the guitar is supereor to most of the guitars I have played in the two to three thousand dollar range.

Reliability/Durability : 10
THis guitar is a tank. somewere arround fifty years old and still better than my Gibson Acustic. I have used this in all of my shows and never needed a back up guitar. Not even the gold leaf arround the sound hole has chiped

Emprador was sued by Gibson in the 80's because they were making knock off Gibsons and selling them in the states. Emprador guitars is no longer a company so therefore if you have an emprador keep it there VERY rare guitars.

Overall Rating : 10
Tis guitar ig one of the gods of guitars if someone could steal it I would hunt them down and get my guitar back the quality is better than any thing I have ever known in my thirty years of playing.

Bought it from sears and ups brought it to my door step

Overall Rating : 10
I have had this guitar for at least 15 years. I play it more than any other guitar. I have a MIM Fender strat and tele, An Epiphone Studio Dot, Alverez and Washburn acoustic. If this guitar was stolen I would try to find another one but I wouldn't know where to start. I have p;ayed a Gibson Hummingbird and I wouldn't trade my bluejay for it.

Instruments previously built in Japan by the Kasuga company circa 1966 to 1992. Distributed by Westheimer Musical Instruments of Chicago, Illinois.

The Emperador trademark was a brand name used in the U.S. market by the Westheimer Musical Instruments of Chicago, Illinois. The Emperador trademark was the Westheimer company's entry level line to their Cort products line through the years. Emperador models are usually shorter-scaled entry level instruments, and the trademark can be found on both jazz-style thinline acoustic/electric archtops and solid body electric guitars and basses

I guess this is a "pre-lawsuit" Ibanez hummingbird wanna-be, except that the birds look more like the blue birds of paradise, or so I'm told, and it's black with white bindings. Neat looking pickguard; bird inlays on saddle, and double parallelograms inlays on neck. Didn't come with a case. The looks got my attention; loved it after I played it. Played a Hummingbird since, and wasn't impressed with the Gibson. My guitar is cool.

Sound : 9
I play mostly country/rock and folk stuff. This guitar sounds really good. Used to play it through amps, but prefer to go thorugh direct box (I put electronics in it after I got it). I get a really crisp sound; I wish it had more bass to it, but it's not "tin"y either.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
This guitar was made in the 70's. Don't know how many owners it had, and it did need some work when I got it-action, etc. It still sounded pretty good, though. For being as old as it is, it's in excellent condition and I expect it to last me for a long, long time.

Reliability/Durability : 9
I have played it at clubs and other live settings, and I remember being surprised at how good it sounded coming direct through the monitors. I always have a b/u regardless. Actually, this one is a b/u to a Guild/Madeira A-30M (amazing guitar).

Customer Support : No Opinion
company was Ibanez import in 70's. Not that I would need them anyway.

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing guitar for about 14 yrs, and profesionally for about 8. This guitar has shared space with Madeira by Guild A-30M and A-14, Yamaha APX-6NA classical/electric, Epiphone PR 350-12E (12 string) and Sheraton II with Gibson PAF's humbuckers, American Strat and Jazzmaster w/ DiMarzio humbuckers. If I lost this guitar, I'd be pissed, and cherish the memories, but probably wouldn't put much of an effort to get one like it. They're not easy to find, and I like getting new guitars, so that could be as good excuse as any. I do have to say, I'm working the heck out this little guitar and it does more than its share. I'm really glad I own it...plus it looks really cool.

Manufactured in Korea/(?)1960's(?)/20 Frets/Solid top /Acoustic/Dreadnought/Body and neck I judge to be tropical hardwood of some kind (looked inside my other acoustics)/Tuners are chromed open gear non locking/Action - Built to play - best setup of any of my acoustics.

A very interesting guitar.

Sound : 8
I play mostly old country and old country blues (Jimmie Rodgers up through Outlaw style stuff)
This guitar rings it out with the best of my acoustics...I play a Martin DM and an old Gibson J45.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
The action is top notch - built to play. The tuners do not appear to be original or if they are original, they have been re situated because there are other tuner screw holes in the back of the head. The luthier who repaired the guitar showed me there had been a problem with the neck connection to the body which had been repaired in the past with drilling and a carriage bolt through the lower part of the neck and into the body. He replaced this bolt with a recessed head bolt/washer/nut/glue combination which he wood puttyed in and painted so it's much less noticeable now. He did say the repair combination was very necessary because there had been some splintering where the neck joined the body. He to was very surprised at the playability/action and sound of the instrument. Finish Black high gloss w/ white(ivory) piping/Bridge is fancy w/2 abalone(?)shell designs at the outer ends & has raise&lower screws/Pickguard (is warped) is fancy: Black w/2 bluebirds in a grapevine design(4 colors) Fretboard is rosewood (?) w/abalone parrallellogram insets/An interesting instrument to look at.

Reliability/Durability : 3
I bought the guitar used several years back (it was IN BAD SHAPE) and had it restored and set up professionally recently because I'd seen and played another Emperador while on a business trip and was surprised by the quality of its tone. I play this guitar with light strings because of the history of problems with the neck. I will probably never bang on this guitar like I would my others because of these problems. Not a gig guitar but an eye catching and ear catching collectors piece.

Customer Support : No Opinion
N/A Does anybody know anything about Emperador Guitar Company. I've seen one other acoustic Emperador and know they make electric because there's a writeup right here.

Overall Rating : 7
Playing 25 years. I have a total of 14 guitars, acoustic, acoustic electric, hollowbody electric, electric.

I wish I had asked myself if I really needed another guitar...but for 25 bucks....can you go wrong? I should have restrung the guitar, tuned it and played it before buying it. It really is an eye catcher though....

I think I like it well enough that I'd buy another one if I could find one. Maybe they're so poorly made they've all self destructed but mine and the other two I know about.

I love the sound of it and the look of it for the price...just lucky I guess. I really hate the neck problem.
