This Encore was made in India (I don't know the year)and the features are : A Les Paul style body made from ash and a bolt on neck with rosewood fretboard (22 Frets) which was made out of maple. Two Humbuckers , a stop tailpiece / tune-o-matic bridge. Three way selector switch. 2 Tone / 2 Volume control knobs. The finish is a really nice wine red on both neck and body.

This guitar I use to play blues only. It suits this style perfect, because of it's sound. There was some noise from the stock bridge humbucker, but I changed it. Now there's a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge positions and it sounds good,no problems. But it's really only for playing blues, sounds very special! The stock bridge humbucker sounded terrible. So I'd give it a 5 with the old humbucker. With the Seymour it's 8!
Action, Fit, & Finish

The set up wasn't perfect and I had to do some things by myself (adjusting the pickups etc...). There's one flaw on the finish but you only realize it if you have a real close look on it. That's why I got this guitar a bit cheaper than it actually was. The hardware was good!

It will withstand live playing, that's for sure! I wouldn't use it as my main guitar because of the special sounds it has no. It's really bluesey and hard to describe! I replaced the strap buttons by some Schaller Straplocks and now it's just fine! I'd never play a gig without a backup!!! Without my changes I'd give it a 6 , now it's 8.

I'v been playing nearly 8 years now and I own some other guitars too. The Encore P25 RW isn't bad! I'd recommend it to beginners. I bought it to have a guitar to work on and doing my own customizations. It doesn't sound that good , but after you changed the pickups you can get some amazing results! The neck feels good and the fretboard is comfortable to play. In it's original condition I'd give it a 6 , now it's an 8! And don't forget there's always a way to improve the quality of a cheap guitar!
