this is one solid Guitar. with Beautiful Book matched solid spruce top, and Laminated Magogany sides and back. The body of the Guitar has rounded shoulders- which Gibson calls- an Advanced Jumbo. Or it is sometimes called a Southern Jumbo. Action was great, but since I know how to set up guitars- I lower just a bit and put on EXP strings.

Sound : 10
This Guitar really has a big sound. Great high's but still holds on the bass side . I have a Epi AJ550me- which has a little more bass than this guitar-which suits me- since I need different guitars for different venues. for strumming- it has a very bright bell sounds.
finger picking- it still holds up- to a neck bright sound.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
Looking inside- everything is perfect- I like the lighter stain on the back and side also. the top has beautiful soild book matched spruce top. This spruce really looks like it could pass as "AA".
the guitar did have a blemish on the side of the lower bout. but I ended up getting a discount because of it, and you really don't see it when your are playing....and of course it does not effect the sound. So I won't worry about my first ding.

Reliability/Durability : 10
all epiphones are built solid. have owned many during the years.
and my Play out guitar is a Epi AJ500ME Master bilt. I have also bought and given away many AJ 100's to friend (young and old).
I would depend on it for a stage back up if needed.

Customer Support : 3
I have many epi/dealers around me- so I would not have a problem there-but if you try to get information for Gibson/Epiphone per web page...Email- they are either very slow or are not really familiar with their product. When I went to them about the 5000ME- no one knew what I was talking about- they did not know anything about satin finishes. so in this I may be saying don't buy on line- buy it from a dealer in your area- so you have the option to bring back.
my dealer is great- on any guitars- they offer 4 free set ups for the first year.

Overall Rating : 10
The Guitar plays very well and I will use it for a long time.
it will be more of a travel or outside guitar for now.
I would say compared to most guitars in this price range- this is the best that is out there. I would recommend it to everyone- beginner or pro. Buy it.

Solid spruce top,mahogany neck,rosewood fingerboard,laminated mahogany sides,chrome hardwear.

Sound : 8
Out of the box with crappy factory strings the sound was still quite good.I changed to a set of d'dario phosphor bronze custom lights and it really came to life;bright and clear, decent bass and projection.I play blues and rock and it's great to have at hand(plus at ??109 you don't have to be to precious). I would have happily payed a bit more for better tuners but they're ok.

Action, Fit, & Finish : No Opinion
Close inspection comes up with virtually no flaws, very nice glossy finish a few ragged fret ends. i dropped the action a bit and now it plays and sounds great!

Reliability/Durability : No Opinion
I dont see why this guitar wouldn't last, it' well enough made.

For the money i cannot complain, it's loud, bright, clear and an all round cheery instrument that i can't seem to put down right now.Drop the action, change the strings and you've got a very playable axe, i think i'm going to upgrade the nut, saddle and pins to bone just to liberate the rest of the tone that's being held back by the stock plastic bits.

Solid Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany back and sides. Rosewood bridge and fretboard and die-cast chrome tuners. Natural finish. Amazing value at this price range, especially considering the Solid (NOT laminated) Sitka Spruce top, which is unheard of for this price range.

Sound : 10
Sound is deep and bright. I have another Mahogany-bodied guitar and I can tell you Mahogany tends to age really well, sounding deeper and mellower as it ages. The solid Sitka Spruce top makes for a very responsive and rich sound - really so much more depth to be heard from a solid top instrument than a laminated top. The deeper body keeps the sound nice and balanced with the crispness of the Spruce top.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 9
The neck is comfortable. 25&1/2" scale is what I'm used - the Fender standard although we're talking about an Epiphone here. The finish (clear gloss) has no flaws. I gave the truss-rod a half-turn and let it set overnight - wala! Now the action is just right.

Reliability/Durability : 10
the guitar is well built. Epi knows what they're doing. I'd gig with it - I'd take along my Duncan woody sound-hole pickup and bam! I'm ready.

Customer Support : 9
I've never heard anything negative about Epiphone - they're solid company with a solid reputation, and backed by Gibson.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing for 20 years. The AJ-200S is an excellent value. Amazing they can offer a solid-Spruce top at this price range. Plus solid die-cast tuners, Mahogany sides (which to my ears sound woodier than rosewood, which can sound too metallic).

SOLID SPRUCE TOP. THIS IS A JUMBO AND DOES NOT NEED AMPLIFICATION.
BEAUTIFUL NATURAL FINISH.

Sound : 10
VERY LOUD AND EQUALLY PRECISE. I IMAGINE IT WILL GET EVEN BETTER WITH AGE BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW IT CAN GET MUCH BETTER.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 8
I CHANGED OUT THE FACTORY STRINGS RIGHT AWAY AND WHAT A DIFFERENCE.
ACTION WAS A LITTLE HIGH FOR MY TASTE SO I HAD IT ADJUSTED. THE FINISH GLOWS.

Reliability/Durability : 9
GREAT HARDWARE. THE FINISH SHOUL AGE WELL. IT LOOKS SMOOTHE AND EVENLY DISTRIBUTED. VERY DEPENDABLE.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 9
I WOULD DEFINITELY GET THIS MODEL AGAIN. I HAVEN'T HEARD ANY IN THIS PRICE RANGE I LIKED AS MUCH.

Made in 2005
Made in Korea
Solid Spruce Top
Strap button installed
Obviously, a solid spruce top at this price is unbelievable.

Sound : 8
Does not have the low end of a full size dreadnought. I've heard from other users that the factory strings are poor. I'm going to get it setup and a quality set of strings and I'll let you know. Spruce needs to age as well. Time will tell.

Action, Fit, & Finish : 7
Action was high out of the box. I measured .120" at the 12th Fret to the low E string. Definately needs a setup.
Finish is real good. No obvious flaws.

Reliability/Durability : 8
Seems sturdy enough.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Have not dealt with customer support.

Overall Rating : 9
Been playing 3 years.
Other Gear: Martin DX1, Epiphone Les Paul Standard, La Patrie Classical
I bought this for my daughter. It's a great started guitar. I was looking for a low price on a solid top guitar and I found it.
